  1. That should read "forum admins", stupid mobile phone autocorrect function
  2. Think that is a great idea. I would suggest that you start the Hardware Resources thread and you can then ask Albert or some of the future admits to pin it. Good luck!
  3. That is very sad, I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences.
  4. Congrats Karsten! You keep them coming! Again a great year for hardware and software :-)
  5. I'm aware it's possible to use the vertical blank interrupt for that. I've already done a task scheduler on the TI-99/4A using that approach (spectra2 game library). But I'd like to try my hands on implementing some form of preemptive task scheduling; timed load interrupts would fit that perfectly. Also a nice benefit would be the higher interrupt rate. That could possibly also be accomplished using the TMS9901 as a timer. There was a discussion about that a few years ago http://atariage.com/forums/topic/232771-using-the-tms9901-as-a-timer/
  6. would be cool if, in addition to the 32k ram , the board could include a programmable timer that generates a load interrupt signal. See some possibilities for a task scheduler that way.
  7. ok, before I get too excited here. Does this allow me to connect the TI-99/4a to a raspberry pi ? So, in theory I could use that to lets say emulate a PEB, if I would have the proper software running on the Pi. Wonder if something like that would even be possible. Considering timing issues, etc. Don't know if the PI would be fast enough to support that kind of stuff. And then ofcourse how would you make the PI boot fast enough before you can turn on the TI-99/4A. Nonetheless, very interesting stuff. As a matter of fact I thought about interfacing the TI with the raspberry, but unfortunately I lack the hardware skills and now you come up with this! very nice :-)
  8. Mine arrived too! Thanks Marc & Ciro! This is a great year for TI Hardware & Software :-)
  9. Yeah, that's what I'll probably do. They are not that expensive. Should be possible to get one for 20-30 EUR. If you just occasionaly copy bin files it's not worth the effort. But if you are developing a new game with testing on the real-deal, then swapping cards becomes a real pain in the **** after a while.
  10. ok, here's an idea I have been toying about and would like to discuss for figuring out if it's worth following up on. You know those WLAN sdcards that you can normally use to wlan enable your photo camera. I'd like to put such card in the flashrom. The idea is that I then transfer my binary image files wirelessly from the PC to the card. The problem is that the wlan sdcards out-of-the-box do not allow this. But, some (or most) of these wlan sdcards contain a linux with busybox that can be hacked. Here's an example (in german) http://blog.smartewelt.de/?p=1765 Imagine having a build process on the PC that assembles your assembly source code, creates the binary files and transfers them directly onto the flashrom via ftp. Would be cool :-)
  11. This just caught my eye on Ebay: Set of 2 disks:TI-99/8 source files for BIOS, interpreter, remap, interrupt, fast_lo, fast_hi, tboot & sboot 5 1/4 floppy disk Not tested, my drives can't read this format. See pics Disks created during TI99/8 development (dated 8/23/83) Watch for more TI-99/8 items http://www.ebay.de/itm/Set-of-2-disks-TI-99-8-source-files-for-BIOS-interpreter-remap-more-TI-99-4A-/131867448823? There could be anything on those disks, if they are even readable at all. Nonetheless, are these files already out there in the public? Could this be something for a group buy?

  13. Holy cow! That is impressive! I see plenty of possibilities here. Congrats for creating this.
  14. This looks great. I think we need a new retro homebrew game console. F18A + TMS9900. Rasmus rocks!
  15. Impressive! Good work. Love to see how this further develops
  16. Incredible! Mole you are on the roll! The games currently in development are amazing. I can just say wow....
  17. Yes, Munchman stands out as a mascot if you ask me :-)
  18. As always, impressive work and raising the bar once again!
  19. Thank you for the new newsletter. As always very interesting!
