  1. Sorry for the late response, I just found this thread. Man, I am a huge BurgerTime fan! I used to play it all the time in the arcade and then loved playing the ColecoVision port as well. The NES port is excellent as well. I'm always up for more of that. I didn't even know they had brought BT back for current gen (BurgerTime Party) until recently. It looks decent enough, perhaps the graphics look a bit like an Adobe Flash animation, but as games like Castle Crashers have proven, it's more about the game play and co-op. I'll grab the physical copy when the price drops a bit. It supports 4 player local co-op and online as well. Awesome game. I just picked this up on the Switch, under the "Johnny Turbo " brand. All of those classic Data East games are on sale now for only $1.99. I also grabbed Heavy Burger. An absolute love letter to fans of Data East arcade cabs and twin stick shooters such as Robotron: 2084! Also has 4 player co-op as well. Is R-Type coming to the Amico? Better hope those controllers are latency free and can handle a "beating" and being thrown! haha.. R-Type games are often pretty brutal "old school tough". Hopefully they can add a co-op mode like they did with R-Type Dimensions. That was an awesome port with new 3D perspective views and a new soundtrack, both of which could be toggled on-the-fly.
  2. Sorry. I'd delete it if I could. I can't even edit it at this point. I figured it wasn't enough news to create a new topic for, and it was brought up in this thread in the past. I didn't think it was completely off topic since there is some crossover with those of us who bought both Paprium, and a Mega Sg, in which to play it on. I certainly didn't mean to upset anyone. I was trying to alert those who may have pre-ordered Paprium, figured they lost their money.. It turned out to be from a fake account anyway, so disregard all of it.
  3. This is a bit OT, but I think at least a couple of people in here also pre-ordered Watermelon's Paprium (a few years ago). Obviously there was a lot of drama there, and most of the people working on it had left the project, because Fonzie stopped paying them. Then Watermelon claimed PayPal froze their account, and after promising many customers they would receive a refund, they went completely silent for months.. Then they popped up again around the time of the Mega Drive's 30th anniversary with a disaster of a "release party", which turned out to be some sort of Euro dance party showing a very incomplete beta of Paprium, which was full of bugs, and had no sound. The owner of Watermelon, Fonzie, was said to be broke, and had spent all of the pre-order money on his rent and other bills, allegedly. Cut to 2020.. Watermelon has been teasing Paprium news once again, this time showing what looks to be a PCB with a SEGA sticker on one ikf the chips. Can anyone make out any of this. Does it look legit? Is it using an FPGA chip for it's "DATENMEISTER" audio add-on? Tbisnof course is supposed to be a 48KHz, 24 channel audio processor running off the cartridge itself, which is also an 80MEG rom. As someone who preordered a copy a long time ago, I had pretty much given up all hope of ever receiving a copy. This is interesting, but I'm not going to believe anything until I'm holding a working copy in my hands.. The tweet is here... I normally don't take risks like this, but I have to admit that I was blown away by the game's graphics and music. The music is extremely impressive. (Keep in mind this is supposedly what we were to expect on a Genesis.. Not a Neo•Geo, or CD Redbook, but on a standard Genesis cart (with add-on enhancement chip). Also with graphics and animation that give Streets of Rage 2 a run for its money. Including larger sprites than SOR2, and with even more on screen enemies than it as well.
  4. Since Analogue is going to be selling more of these is there anyone who purchased an extra set willing to part with one in exchange for "free shipping"? I'll pay the entire Analogue shipping price ($20-$25) + shipping to me.
  5. No, I'm not counting you. I'm talking about people who buy many at a time, bots even. I see it all the time with limited game releases. 10 minutes after those go up for sale you'll see sellers with "10+ available". That kind of stuff annoys me when there are so many simple ways for them to avoid that. I really like what DATA Discs does. Once you are on their mailing list they'll send you an email letting you know exactly when the record will go up for pre-order. Then an hour before that time they will email you a 4 digital code which allows you to access the pre-order page. I've never not been able to buy what I wanted from them. Though none of that really matters if they didn't produce very many. Who knows.. Have they mentioned selling more or was it a one time sale to fulfill their promise of making some. The only reason I bought a Mega Sg was to play all of my physical Sega games. Without the adapters I have little reason to own one.
  6. You know for a fact that the only people buying them actually own a Mega Sg? I imagine the same people who bought up the limited edition Analogue consoles to flip on eBay are doing the same here, and I've seen more than a few people buy multiple sets of these.
  7. Yes, I've waited since day one to buy these when they were promised in 2019 for $10 each...Since I've been sick I've been sleeping late and I didn't get the notice until 2 hours ago and it said... SOLD OUT. My luck. I think I am done with all of this. I've been advertising and selling consoles for them for years now and I always get screwed in the process.. $25 shipping on everything I order. Why weren't the people who ordered the Mega Sg allowed to order 1 PER PERSON -- ahead of those who didn't order a Mega Sg. How long before we see the adapters on eBay for $100? How many sets were produced? We'll never likely know. Care to sell one to me? I'm in NY.. I'll pay the full shipping.
  8. I'm not sure if you are aware, but Nanoloop is already available for both Andoid and iOS for $3.49 and $3.99 respectfully. It's a fun little audio app. I also highly recommend Korg's DS-10 Synthesizer. I bought extra DS's just for it. It's very handy for some quick sequencing. When using it on a DS-i or 3DS you can alsol double up the instrument patches along with some other improvements. What's the URL for Analogue's Facebook reply? All I see is screenshots, but I can't find an actual link when searching.
  9. According to the changelog it seems to address issues with PAL games. 1.40b2 Fixes some PAL games with audio and game speed issues 1.40b3 Fixes more PAL games (ppu) 1.40b4 Fixes boot to black screen issue in Mega Man 5. May break other games! There were some posts on NintendoAge (R.I.P.) talking about those firmwares causing problems with some NTSC games so I stayed away from it. IR would be nice to get the RetroUSB XMAS 2017 cart working on the AVS, but not at the expense of glitching official games, or dropping back to older firmware and losing major features. I emailed their customer support a couple times over the past 2 years and never heard back. It seems Brian has his hands full with his family. I think if he plans on continuing with the AVS now would be the time to get all of the bugs worked out once, as well as adding any new possible features. Once Analogue releases their Nt Mini successor (Analogue 8?) The competition will likely slow sales on the AVS. Good news for Mega Everdrive X7 owners. Krikzz added support for Virtua Racing. Bad news for Analogue Mega Sg owners, It doesn't work on your system... For some reason.
  10. ^agreed. Though I wonder if one of those USB / splitter power+data cables would possibly work with the AVS. I forget the name of them, but I use one with a newer gen Amazon Fire Stick to connect a USB drive and still power it. I am pretty happy with the current status of the RetroUSB AVS, aside from the bug in 1.30 final which breaks compatibility with RetroUSB's own 8-BIT XMAS 2017 cart (the neat one with the LCD screen label), but if there is room for more features I'd like to see a color palette which replicates the VS arcade monitors. I miss the way VS SMB looked in the arcade. A CopyNES function and audio EQ might also be nice, but aren't necessary. I'm also not sure if something could replace the online high score feature now that NintendoAge is dead (RIP). I prefer the AVS over playing NES/FC on a MiSTer because I enjoy playing my original carts. I find that I tend to actually stick with a game rather than play it for a couple minutes and then moving on to another game when playing a single cartridge, but I do like the N8 for imports, translations, color fixes, hacks, PC-10, VS., and more. I also like using original controllers and accessories. I'm not sure if something like the TAITO VAUS spinner controller would work with the MiSTer. Maybe it does, but I know it works great with the AVS. I need to grab a second Japanese spinner for 2 player Arkanoid II. I'll plug that into the JPN Expansion port in the back. Make sure to grab the newest 1.20 OS update. It back ports new mappers and fixes from the new N8 Pro, which was really cool of Krikzz to do! http://krikzz.com/pub/support/everdrive-n8/original-series/OS/nesos-v1.20.zip 1.20 (12/23/2019) Update Changelist Nesos-v1.20 23.12.2019 1) OS naming convention was changed to make clear differentiation between PRO and OG N8 OS. 11. I agree 100%. This would be a huge draw for those of us who grew up playing the Sega Genesis "properly" on a composite CRT. Dithering was used very extensively on the Genesis to take advantage of composite video in faking transparencies, shadows, and increased color palettes. I would never go back to composite over RGB, but with proper blending we could get the best of both worlds. I am certainly thankful that Kevin has added dither blending to the Sg, and would be further grateful if it were improved upon. I'm just not sure he's still working on the Mega Sg with at least 2 other Analogue products on the table. We shall see. I've also recently saw the current status of the Genesis core on MiSTer and I'm really impressed by it. I kind of wish we had unlimited sprites and turbo mode on the Mega Sg. The latter makes games like Sonic Spinball much less laggy and slow moving. Maybe it would also work with Hard Drivin', and others.
  12. Thanks. I tried another version and the health bar works on it.
  13. Ahh, that's too bad. It would have been nice to see the original title screen on the CV, but obviously it's not worth getting attacked by the big N's lawyers.
  14. Bump..Any news on Opcode's DK release? I haven't seen an announcement on their forum in nearly an entire year. My guess is that it can't be released due to Nintendo's strict policy's on their first party IPs. They are very protective of them, especially Donkey Kong, which just celebrated it's 25th Anniversary of the DK Country series. The Switch also saw an ACA release of Donkey Kong from Hamster.
  15. I tested it for about 9 hours straight. Playing about 75 games on CV, SG1000, SMS, GG, and GEN. I didn't have any one game in mind. I just played the games I knew best on the CV, they sounded perfect so I assumed all ColecoVision would also be perfect. I thought it was clear that I am super impressed by both Sewer Sam and Squish 'Em. Actual digitized speech on a 1982 ColecoVision system without a voice add-on, such as the Intellivoice, is very impressive. I also thought the same of Spike on the Vectrex. "DARN IT!". As well as the smooth "Sega Super Scaler" 3D syle scrolling in Sewer Sam. Having those game working correctly on the Mega Sg would be great just for how they stick out from all other games in the ColecoVision library.
  16. Interesting. It may only be 2 games on the ColecoVision that use digitized speech, (the other being Sewer Sam), but it was pretty impressive for 1983. Also a reminder that FPGA systems are still emulating original console hardware, and are only as good as the programming that supports it. I know it's just part of the jailbroken fw, but it would be nice to have it fully working as well as the original ColecoVision can run it. The 3D persective scrolling in this game is also some of the best I've seen on the CV.
  17. I'm not sure if it was like this prior to the newest jailbroken firmware (7.7), but the voices in Squish 'em Sam do the ColecoVision core are hosed. I don't have a way to capture it, but they sound high pitched and barely audible. Here's how they should sound. It was a bit embarrassing how I came upon the bad audio. I had some friends over and I was trying to defend why the Analogue Mega Sg was "so worth the $200+ I spent on it". I told my older brother, a ColecoVision fan since 1982 to pick a game to try. He picked Squish 'Em Sam, explaining "This game was amazing for it's time with its actual voice samples!".. I queue it up and yeah.. It was messed up. followed by laughter and my brother: "Money well spent there!". Of course the ColecoVision core was not the only reason I bought the Sg, but it is a bummer. I also wonder if other ColecoVision games have audio issues. Anyone else come upon other games with audio issues?
  18. Necrobump..sorry. Just curious if anyone has played the CV port of Kung Fu Master. I'm not sure why, but no matter how many hits I take my health bar doesn't get reduced. Like it's stuck in God Mode or something. I can harm the bosses though. Their health bars drain with each hit, appropriately. I played in on the newest ColecoVision core for the Analogue Mega Sg, if that makes a difference. I don't have a CV flashcart so I can test it on my original ColecoVision hardware.
  19. I don't know where you buy them new anymore, but used 24" PS 3D Displays often pop upon eBay for $99 (+shipping). https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=playstation+3D+display&_sacat=0&_sop=15 You might be better off buying one used anyway based on all of the defects that Sony had. It seemed like most of them went bad within the first 2-3 months of use. I made sure to buy a cheap SquareTrade manufacture defect warranty when I bought mine. I really love the quality of the PlayStation 3D Display. Even with 2D content. I even bought a 2nd one a few months later from Newegg when the price fell again to only $49. I used one for about 6 months just to make sure it was good and then switched to the other. I've been using it for 7+ years, probably 12 hours a day (using it for PS3/PS4/Wii U/and as my main PC display), and it's still perfect. I will warn that it reflects EVERYTHING with it's ultra glossy glass screen. I game most at night in a dark room so I'm not bothered by it, but I wanted to mention it. Oh, and it also works perfectly with 240p content. I have used the classic consoles on it using HD Retrovision YPbPr component cables and they look very nice. Around the same time the Sony glasses went on sale for $9.99 each. I bought 2 of them. My girlfriend and I have watched a few 3D movies on it. It also has that Simul-View tech where 2 people can play compatible co-op games (2D), each with a full screen. There are only a few compatible games, but it's a neat idea.
  20. It would be amazing to play SegaScope 3D games on an active shutter 3D HD display. These PlayStation 24" 3D displays were dirt cheap for a while too. For $99 they included a pair of active shutter glasses, and a copy of one of the best looking 3D games too. If it included an SBS mode it would guarantee compatibility with just aboiut every stereoscopic 3D compatible display.
  21. Does anyone know if this multi 4 port USB adapter would be optimal to use with both of the Analogue Mega Sg, Super Nt, as well as the RetroUSB AVS systems? https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Compatible-Smartphone/dp/B07FFS7671/ I assume it does, but I had a couple of USB wall plugs which didn't seem to work correctly with the Super Nt.
  22. Do you have a video of how it should sound? Or a comparison between the two? If the FM emulation is messed up, then hopefully it's on the Mega Sg list of things that need fixing.
  23. Within the USA? If so, then that's insane. I just shipped 40 pounds of video game magazines and DVD demos across the country for $19.95 via 4 day UPS SurePost®. You can even ship up to 70 pounds for the same price. I don't understand why they don't go with another shipping service. I was considering buying the DAC, but I hate overpaying for shipping.
  24. Have they given an MSRP on the adapters yet? I would think $10 - $15 would be about right. "These took quite a bit longer to produce as we ended up designing and manufacturing our own cartridge slots to meet Analogue standards" may suggest otherwise though. And yes, lets hope they keep the shipping realistic. I also hope they limit it to 1 of each adapter per Mega Sg owner if these are are a very limited production item. We don't need scalpers jumping in and ordering 100 of each. It's unlikely I know, but a ColecoVision cart adapter to go along with the Mega Sg core would be great. Then the Mega Sg would blow the Coleco Phoenix away.
