Into the bargain bin, along with the "Playstation Move." I haven't seen that on a retail shelf in a long time. (The PS Move was really weird, too.)

UnoCart (a new multi-cart) - orders/pre-orders thread
wood_jl replied to electrotrains's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi there! I would like 2 of the cased ones, please! Please send PM when it is convenient! Thank you! wood_jl -
Can't help, but just wanted to mention that this was my first modem of all-time, and I really loved it! I forgot if it didn't have tone dialing! I have a couple of them somewhere in the storage bins, for old-time sake. It sure was a nice, cheaper alternative to other modems at the time (either an Atari 830 acoustic, plus cable, plus EXPENSIVE Atari 850 Interface Module, or an Atari 835 (which I've never seen), or even the Atari 1030.) I remember it had a "variable" baud rate. It could go up to 450 baud. It made a lot of errors at maximum, though. However, I remember a friend sending me an EXE (or XEX in the modern parlance) of "Bruce Lee" at a fairly-reliable 400 baud. The Xmodem blocks only had to retry about every 10th-or-so!!!!

Soft-modded Xbox with CoinOps wins every time, but that's kind of cheating. However, Gamecube with Gameboy Player earns respectable attention (add Everdrive Gameboy/Advance for extra points). Guess there's just too many threads to consider it all? Can't vote since I like 'em both. Where's the 3rd option (like 'em both) in the poll?

If they would have called it "Wii 2" instead of "Wii U," much confusion would have been avoided. I don't know what they are thinking. They are both fine machines, but I have hardly played mine, although it's difficult for me to find the time to play anything, lately. I remember thinking that the name "Wii" was stupid. But it didn't matter what I thought; the thing was a complete success. Then, when I got to like it and the "Wii U" came out, I thought that was even dumber, because the "U" did nothing other than to confuse people. However,. "Xbox 2" would be easier to understand than "Xbox 360," and "Xbox 3" would be MUCH easier to understand than "Xbox One," which can easily be confused with "Xbox 1," which usually means the original Xbox. I think there are a lot of Madison Avenue advertising firms full of incompetent people who are worth less than their salt. But what do I know? Very little.

1088XEL Atari ITX Motherboard Pre-order & Interest Thread
wood_jl replied to MacRorie's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Good grief, I'd be interested in 2 of these, in as fully-assembled and complete and closely-functioning as possible. The Realan case or the 3D printed case, although I'm not sure what the 3D printed case looks like. I just wanted to register some interest, to be added to the total. Thank you very much. More tragedy has kept me from logging in as often as I like, and I'm the last person on the Earth to not have an actual "smart" phone, so I can't check email (nor log into AtariAge) until I return to my physical PC. Very backward!!! -
Man, this thread is really incredible, and rewarding to long-time A8 fans. I know youngsters or non-computer folk wouldn't be impressed, but I can't believe what I'm seeing on my Atari screen! Bravo!
-
I would also be interested in 1 or 2, but would really want a shell/case of some kind. Perhaps there will be time to figure that stuff out.
-
Sent PM, too. Probably too late.

Getting older and no longer having time for this hobby is a sad reality. I will offer some items for sale soon, when I can get time to test them and pack them. I will keep A8 and the really old stuff that I love.

I'm disabled, so I have nothing but free time, yet I still have trouble getting around to playing. One of my issues is the ever increasing arthritis in my thumbs.

Thank you, phaeron, for your hard work and dedication to our favorite antique computer. Even on weak-ass computers like my Atom-powered netbook, your emulator functions perfectly and A8 games are great!

Everdrive 64 (Stoneage Gamer Deluxe), and Sega Genesis 2 Console
wood_jl replied to wood_jl's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Thank you, everyone, for interest. I guess I sold too cheap. Silly me. Windfall for ianoid, who seems like a good guy, and I'm glad he's getting it. SO: EVERDRIVE 64 SOLD. SEGA GENESIS AVAILABLE. I know the Genesis is NOT rare, but shipping will me more than $10, so I thought $35 sounded reasonable, for a clean one with necessary accesories. Am I asking too much? Opinions welcome. Lord knows a Super Nintendo is worth more!!!! But you should buy this, then add Everdrive-MD and season to taste! -
I am still learning about this project, but I'd have no problem paying someone with your electronic skills/ability and Atari knowledge $150 to assemble and test for me. No problem! I hope you do it!!!

Everdrive 64 (Stoneage Gamer Deluxe), and Sega Genesis 2 Console
wood_jl replied to wood_jl's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Everdrive 64 appears to be pending to ianoid. Wow, that was fast! -
Greetings, all. 2 items for sale. First: Everdrive 64 for Nintendo 64. Stone Age Gamer "Deluxe" Edition. I don't remember what version, but near as I can tell, it says "version 2.00" on the back (see pictures). Firmware (etc.) is whatever it shipped with, because if it works great (and it does), I don't mess with anything. It is like new. Bonus: Will include 32mb Sandisk SD card. However, you will have to locate your own ROMS, as I don't want to violate any policies by selling ROMs. However, I (or one of your friends) can possibly give a tip later where you can look on your own. It also works quite well with a very-capable NES emulator that is quite usable! Very similar to what is for sale here at Stone Age Gamer.... http://www.stoneagegamer.com/everdrive64-v2-deluxe.html ....except very close to 1/2 price, as I am looking for $75 with FREE SHIPPING TO CONTINENTAL U.S. I like my friends in other countries, but I have found that shipping is just completely ridiculous, now. I don't know if the Post Office is ripping off, but I can ship to England for less than I can ship to our close neighbors in Canada, sometimes. Crazy world. It's just almost not practical anymore. Pics.... Second: Very basic Sega Genesis 2 system. Pretty good condition. A few scuffs (most notably right front corner on top (see pics)) but everything is squeaky-clean. Standard 3-button controller has a couple of scrapes, but has been disassembled, thoroughly-cleaned, etc. No grease and dead skin packed into the nooks and crannies like an Ebay or thrift-store system. Third-party 6-button controller still in package. RF and composite cords. Beavis and Butthead (sorry, that's all I had) to demo system with. Original OEM power supply. Looking for $35 shipped in continental U.S., which is almost a give-away, considering shipping. Pics:

I want to apologize, once agin, to my fellow Atariage friends for being a problem. I also apolgize again to Albert, the other mods, and to Bill.
-
The fact that it bothers you at all says enough in my book. Now let's go play more Atari.
-
You're not alone. At one point I had been spamming the status updates and got told to knock it off. (It scared me.)

You are a real stand-up guy, Bill. And to be truthful, I admire what you do, and what you have done, and what you continue to to do for the gaming community. This is NOT an excuse, but I've been through some personal tragedy recently, I was intoxicated, and I lashed out at you, when I absolutely should not have. In actuality, I really like your posts (you have some good informative posts, son) and I will definitely be interested in your book. Although it looks like I am crazy, I am not (er, I think I am not), and I - once again - apologize to you personally (can I do that over the internet?), and I also apologize to Albert for providing this awesome forum that I love, and I apologize to the rest of the readers of my bull....(You're welcome for the free drama, however!!). You're a bigger man than I am, Bill, and I shall learn from this bad experience. Take care, and keep doing what you do so well. James Wood

I am going to have to eat crow on this one, but I wanted to make it public. I ranted against Bill Loguidice in another thread, (I got banned!!!) and I wish to apologize to him. It's not just that I got banned, because this isn't required. I also apologize to emkay for being negative. But most of all, I apologize to AL for creating a problem. I am going though a bit of some tough times right now, although that's no excuse. Take care, all.

I have a GT in shrink wrap. I'm afraid to open it, in order to find out that the plastic front cover is probably messed-up. After the thrill of my 1st drive (a 1050), I was so TOTALLY thrilled with the Indus that I'll never get over it.

What I'm wondering about is the need to "turn off" the dual POKEY. As a layman, shouldn't the "extra" POKEY lay dormant, until called upon? I thought I saw that it had to be switched on, and off?

How so? Contradicting a bullshit artist and salesman is a bad day? Because I called you out on your shit, Atgames salesman?? Yes it fucking does do that. It doesn't require acknowledgement from you, to do so. Fucking Duh. Of course. The C64 is quite a capable machine. I have come to really like it, with the 1541 Ultimate 2, and I have 2 of em'!!! Of course it does, your self-appointed authority on the subject....I mean peddeler of Atgames Cheap Shit Junk emulation products. Yes, I think I got that one right, don't you. Please approve by continuing to advocate for Atgames Cheap Shit Junk Products. I surmise that you will, and you will PROVE ME C0RRECT BY CONTINUING. Am I wrong? LOL! HAH! It's quite accurate - the observation of what forum we are on - as this is ATARIAGE and I advocate Atari, bozo. Fucking DUH, once again. The only thing I crave is for "Super Salesman" like you to go away, and go someplace else,to peddle your Cheap Chinese Shit, you huckster!!! The only "CHEERLEADING" going on here is you trying to peddle cheap Chinese bulllshit as actual Atari shit, Huckster. I feel sorry for you in that it requires you to have more than one job. I've been there, as I have worked 2 jobs myself, in the distant past, when I was more needy than I am now. It's all better, in case you wanted to know. I wonder what wild hair grew up your ass that misguided you to think that I possibly care about how many jobs you have. Please explain! Because you suck at the Atgames advocacy job. Please enlighten me as to what else you suck as, for a profession. Your wondering about that is perhaps the best pontification that you've ever done. Of course it's not, because of the fat-headed assumption that anybody really gives a fuck what you do (other than advocate Cheap Shit Junk Atgames products, constantly and without request). But since you're obviously wanting to blow off about it (like you normally do), go ahead an enlighten us mortals. What the fuck do you do? NO. Correction. While you're plugging your own "work." Obviously, some cheap shit junk promotion. Only if it's free. The Atari 2600 has made its own history, and there are already many books (and fee reads) out there. Best of luck, however!

Hah. I read you statement. You intended to denigrate the Atari 8-bit (vs the Commodore 64, your preference, and that's OK, even though we're at ATARIage and not Lemon64), by bringing up the timeline of CTIA vs GTIA vs the Commodore 64 Computer, itself. It's quite clear, and yes, it's quite understandable. Now get back to advocating that cheap shit junk products that Atgames sells. You're quite good at that, and relentless, too. There is little doubt why they hired you. I mean that as a complement.

Good Lord, I am behind the times. But I want this! I'm not sure that I'm even worthy. I haven't read the rest of the 40 pages yet, but I see that I need to, in order to even understand this. I see mentions of specific cases for the motherboard that I need. I see mentions of other things. I just want this and I want to be put down for 2 of the "most assembled" things I can. I will self-educate and reply later. This is so awesome that I can't believe it!! Bravo, mytekcontrols!!!!!
