  1. Jeez, The guy who I guess is supposed to be the "Dad" looks like he's wacked out on a StarBucks Double-Expresso Grande Enema. They should get him away from the game system before he dies from a hyper-happy spastic episode...
  2. Oh...Ur...sure...Okay....(Steps back SLOWLY...)
  3. That Adventure shirt kicks ass! I may have to make one like it for myself. I won't steal your idea, especially as that Adventure is filled with great imagery. Maybe just Sir Block with the Magic Dot or chalice?
  4. David Crane gets my vote for getting the most direct play-value from the 2600.
  5. If you can drop a full ADAM system of the unsuspecting head of a home invader, you have a great chance of coming out on top (unless he blocks your attack with an Intellivision console and hits you in the throat with an Air Raid cartridge).
  6. I'm a total bastard, running emulation output and consoles through a pair of Sony Studio Video Monitors (PVM-series). My brother got a crapload of them at a government auction and gave me a 20-inch and a 14-inch. The picture is sharp as hell and they run all PAL and everything else. I also use them for digital cable and am driven crazy by the compression artifacts.
  7. Here are my submissions- Vintage Pixels RetroSphere Pixelated Sky And Retro-izzle! (Humorously in honor of Snoop Dogg)
  8. I remember being a little kid and being blown away by Space Invaders. I especially liked how your shields received visible damage. It was a clone machine, I think, and was soon accompanied by a bootleg Moon Cresta machine at the same candy store. I still love Moon Cresta even though it plays dirty at times.
  9. while I love T2K, I would have to say that BattleMorph is the game that holds my attention the longest now. Sadly, I don't have Defender 2000 of MissleCommand 3D to know what they're like...
  10. I think that if you look at the question as "Which 2600 game disappointed the most people", not just you personally, Pac Man proudly wins the title. I believe that the release of Atari 2600 Pac Man may have been the psychological catalyst which caused the majority people to become sick of video games, thus cuasing the industry crash. Sad, just sad. On another note, does anyone know how easy or difficult it might be to swap-in elements(perhaps the bat) from Adventure in an Altered version of SQ:EarthWorld?
  11. I go with the Intellivision version of Atlantis, due mostly to the little ship you can pilot around and the excellent graphics.
  12. I don't like guided missles per se. Perhaps a system where the missle was launched and then moved with the ship as long as the fire button was held would be better.
  13. What about D&D Treasure of Tarmin for intellivision? This was the first FPS I encountered. I'm sure some computer-based game was first though..
  14. I really love Pitfall and Pitfall 2 but H.E.R.O is pretty damn cool as well...
  15. Sssnake- Terrible graphics. Anger-generating gameplay. It made me feel like cleaning my 2600 with holy water.
  16. In my view, the problem with the pits is that you can be walking off a screen and immediatly fall into a pit when entering the neighboring screen. Then it takes a million years to levitate out of the pit. I'm sure this is not an issue after you've been playing for awhile, but I feel that if this was not the case, the game would be more popular.

    Addictive games

I find Adventure, Demon Attack and Yar's Revenge to be the ones that call out to me timie and time again. I feel Demon Attack could use more variety in the different waves though.

    I 2 K -- Contest

Thanks for the prize Inky, especially since my physical collection of 2600 carts is almost non-existent. I'm leaving for Europe, until Oct 26th, but I'll be back for the next contest. Cheers!

    Top Ten List?

How could you leave out SSSnake? That game is more fun than hitting yourself in the crouch with a bat!

    7800 & 3D

FYI- Doom is not a true 3d engine either in that there can be no object which you can walk both below and above of (i.e. a bridge for instance). I bet you anything that John Carmack could get a very low polygon count, true 3D engine running on the 7800, if you gave him 2 years and several million dollars. I can see it now- New for the Atari 7800 ProSystem -"Cube and Triangle-Sinister Shapes" An arcade-action, geometric rampage! Cube and Triangle puts you in control of your choice of either a true, six-sided cube or a flat, three-point triangle. A realtime, true 3D engine puts you right in the action as simple shapes zoom by at an awesome rate of up to 3 frames per second! Only $1799.99 per copy! So start nagging your Mom for a copy RIGHT NOW!!

    I 2 K -- Contest

Okay the first official entry (atleast that I know about...) The subject of my terrible puns will be Pac-Man (2600 version, so it deserves it) Puns- 1) "Now we're going to miss our plane again, you yellow F**K! I geuss that when you're busy eating those dots and not thinking about our trip, it's easy to forget to pack, man." 2) "People of Earth. We have tasted your flesh and it is quite good, especially when served with a light mint jelly. Thus, as we gather Earthly edible delights for our fellow aliens to eat, back on our homeworld, we will certainly pack man." 3) "Whoa Whoa! I had Marlboro's in mine, not flickering ghosts and some brick-shaped candy crap. So you give back what you took, you semi-circular bastard. This ain't my pack, man.'
  22. The original DX-7 is mono-timbral meaning it can only play one "voice" or "sound"at a time (with 16-note polyphony). IMHO, it would be a much better idea to get a used multi-timbral keyboard. All unless your software includes Hybrid Arts DX-7 voice editing software. Then you would do it just to use it.
  23. I know this is the wrong forum, but I would love to see video of a master arcade Robotron player rocking the game on the "Extra Conservative" setting.
