  1. Taimerco Color Tuner on eBay now ..who will get it??
  2. Pics of the Taimerco Color Tuner .. It is about 12" long and 6" deep .. wooden enclosure. Works great!
  3. Keep an eye out for the Taimerco Color TV Tuner .. made in Texas in the early 1980s. It is built in in a woodgrain veneer cabinet .. has two tuner knobs (VHF & UHF) and pushbutton selectable between computer and TV plus a mute button. RF in, composite/audio in and composite/audio out. Great thing about this TV tuner is that it fits the woodgrain of the era.
  4. The volume rheostat is dirty. If you can take it out and put some rubbing alcohol inside it and turn vigorously for about one minute, it will work like new. Even better is electronics cleaner from Radio Shack.
  5. I just looked at the SV-129 foot petal controller .. Any of the three foot petals can be mapped to any of the Atari joystick functions using switches. So as the Driving Controller uses pins 1 & 2 .. Two foot petals could use pins 3 & 4 for gas and reverse! I'm really looking forward to trying out your Death Race demo on a real Vectrex when you are ready!!
  6. I was that teenager in the fall of 1977. My family bought every launch title as they became available through Sears (less Math). I played each single player game to death. And I would have friends over to play the four player games .. Yes we did buy a second set of paddles in 1977. If I have to choose .. It's still Indy 500 (Race) for both the single and the two player games.
  7. www.classicgamecreations.com .. Another source of Vectrex homebrew games.
  8. Haight Asbury is not a big shopping area so if the business still exists you will find it ..
  9. I have looked on B&N and iTunes and I do not see it ..
  10. I play my Vectrex without overlays. Many of the homebrew games have a lot of depth ..
  11. This reminds me of a project I want to make: an interface box to allow me to control the SS games with a joystick.
  12. Back in the day I relied on Jay Tilton's Deathskull Laboratory for info to make controller adapters for all the consoles I was collecting. In recent years the site went missing. I just found an archive of that site. Anyone want to grab all this info and update it? The Deathskull 5000 Brain-Fist-TV Interface Laboratory: http:/ /arcarc.xmission.com/Web%20Archives/ Deathskull%20(May-2006)/ games/tech/index.html I had to add some spaces to keep the ref completely displayed. Crap! I was in Tahiti and Bora Bora two years ago and I could have scoped out the tourist shops for our god. OTOH I do have a glass god I found at a thrift store years ago. I will take a pic soon ..
  14. Atari USA files for bankruptcy ... http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-atari-bankruptcy-20130119,0,25279.story
  15. I recently bought a CF card USB adapter so I can move my data to my laptop. I have the HP apps running on my XP windows laptop.
  16. Nice to use a green overlay n backwards too!
  17. Again thanks for the second video .. It has been a very long time .. maybe ten years since I opened and serviced a Vectrex .. My first experience was in 1998 when I was given two Vectri about which I was told were from some very nasty hygiene people and both consoles were full of dead bugs. I spent most of an afternoon just getting them apart and dumping the bugs outside .. Neither logic board survived .. As there was at least 1/2" of dead bugs on top of them. Both power boards were ok once cleaned up and I was able to salvage all the plastic parts .. Soon after that Mark Shaker came across NOS Vectrex boards! I bought one logic board to resurrect one Vectrex back to life!
  18. Wow .. Great opportunity to study the guts and get it fixed! Good job!
  19. I wish they would clarify .. and why are four original games missing from their listing?
  20. I have no problem paying for programming and support .. .. Still missing from this update is Space Wars??
