  1. Thanks for space treat! Nice Game! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  2. Gee .. All I want is a "cuttle cart" with all game compatibility .. and a RS232 port .. for connection to my portable HP200LX DOS palmtop. On this device code can be edited, compiled and transfered over to the Atari. Ethernet? That still keeps the Atari tied down .. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  3. Oh My! Well I'm glad you got one demo going and sold a few there .. I wanted to see how you set up a custom controller .. Did you do that? Rob Mitchell
  4. Mike: Thanks for your efforts! Sounds cool! Might the BIN be available to us Cuttle Cart users? OT: By coincidence Richard Hutchinson (UK) just announced that he has voice enhanced Berzerk working on the Vectrex! He has developed the VecVoice circuit (available soon) and a friend has hacked Vectrex Berzerk to output voice code to controller port 2 (to the circuit). Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  5. Nice Cake! Reminds me of the Stella at 20 cake (1997) .. made to look like a console .. had the switch panel pasted on top .. and 6 silver candles coming out of the switch holes. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  6. Pics look interesting .. So I'll recant my hoax statement ... Still more novelty than practical. For the do-it-yourselfer .. would get satisfying results ... Rob Mitchell, Altanta, GA
  7. Monopoly is so outdated .. You need to try some newer games .. like Yahatzee, Battleship, Risk, Scrabble .. Don't get me wrong .. Monopoly is ok! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  8. I think it is a hoax .. because the pic looks fake .. and there are no additional photos to show the back or even the motherboard .. Plus cooling is a question .. A DVD tray would have to come out of the front .. which would mess up the woodgrain. And who would really want a PC inside a console? The Atari console is perfect as it is! It would become corrupted with WINDOZE/ INTROLL inside! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  9. The original 1977 six switch consoles have the speaker slits .. and the TIA chip has two pins for the two sound channels. This makes me think that the Atari was to have the 2 speakers built-in (like the dedicated Atari consoles of that same period). Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  10. Awww ... It's school all over again! I wanna watch Derek (I Claudius) from my easy chair! Well I guess I could go check the VHS out from the public library ... Woops! Our public library does not have them! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  11. No problem with Bumper Bash .. when emulated in the Cuttle Cart! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  12. Umm .. Me! The BBC Shakespeare DVD set is $3000! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  13. Will the magicard overlay scans be available soon? I printed out some other overlays .. but they were the wrong size Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  14. Cassidy and Sean: If you can get this project off the ground, I would be willing to contribute $20 towards the efforts. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  15. Yesterday I loaded Bumper Bash into the Cuttle .. and I played it exclusively for about 30 minutes before being called away to more pressing things .. Great 2600 Pinball! Only two buttons needed to adjust the tension on the ball release .. then release! A real 2 button game! On MM and VP I have to have a joystick wired in parallel with my custom pinball deck .. to do the ball release. Rob Mitchell
  16. Yesterday I loaded Bumper Bash into the Cuttle .. and I played it exclusively for about 30 minutes before being called away to more pressing things .. Great 2600 Pinball! Rob Mitchell
  17. Yeah .. well ever since the '70s I've always used alcohol to clean my paddles .. kinda creature of habit. The cans of tuner cleaner I have lying around will deplete the ozone Rob Mitchell
  18. Hi Greg.. I thought about building the speakers into the console .. but it would require 2 amp circuits too .. and two (or stereo) volume knobs .. And then it would not make sense for me .. I'm used to looking at the screen and hearing the sound come from that direction .. unlike pongs, stunt cycle, and video pinball dedicated units (in which sound comes from where your hands are!) I used the IC mod that uses the CD4050 chip .. works great! I tried the mod where you tie Lum0,1,2,3 and Chroma together through some resistors .. but it didn't work for me. Definately do the stereo out mod ... Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  19. I have two pair of jittery paddles (4 paddles) which I attacked today .. I squeezed a cotton ball loaded with 70% Isopropyl alcohol into the pots of each one .. and turned vigorously for about one minute each. I find it easy to move the paddle along my finger for max torque. All four work perfectly now! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  20. Make it 2 channel "stereo" sound out and you can hear Turmoil in Stereo! .. Battlezone and Robot Tank are awesome with sound through an amp! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  21. Interesting .. Can you take a pic of it? Rob Mitchell
  22. Yes .. both RF and AV out are concurrent! Do the stereo mod! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  23. The latest version of Thrust (not yet released) can use the driving controller. There are *many* Vectrex games and hacks that use this Atari controller. And future game Death Derby will use it! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  24. Hi Adrian .. I agree! This showdown is biased when Bumper Bash is not included .. Plus I had to modify an Atari Video Pinball console to work with these games! There's no way I would play a video pinball game with a JOYSTICK! Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
  25. I gutted a broken Atari Video Pinball console C-380 .. you know the pong clone game! and rewired it to work with the VP MM and Vectrex Spinball. I have not rewired it to work with BB yet .. So I have real L/R flippers for these games! I use a stick wired into the same port for ball release .. Rocks better than a joystick for control! BTW: The worst VP are the ones on C-380 .. but this is about 2600 ... Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
