  1. I've never appreciated Brickyard Clowns b/c the Atari versions are so better polished .. but interesting that the programmer saved a few bytes by reusing the "balloon pop" sound for brickyard. If I remember correctly, Bally made the arcade version of Clowns .. The review is nice ...
  2. Brightness knob on the back ?? Or bad brightness resistance?
  3. I did the best I could trying to convince one of the guys at Code Mystics to include spinner and trackball support to the Atari iOS game set .. and even demonstrated iCade Bluetooth key presses from an Atari driving controller .. but they would not do it .. so frustrating ..
  4. someone has a working mod for the CX53 to put out quadrature signals for the 2600/7800. so can we develop a 5200 spinner standard?
  5. As you know Arcade Tempest uses a digital rotary spinner .. The Atari Driving Controler is a rotary spinner which creates quadrature encoded signals on pins 1&2 of the standard DB9 port. If at some future date, you might consider reading the two 5200 fire buttons for quadrature input of one port and two fire buttons of another controller port, then you have replicated the arcade control. This setup would require a hack adapter .. FYI: the trackball is quadrature digital signals in two dimensions .. Vectrex home brew Tsunami (Tempest clone) supports the Atari Driving controller ..
  6. Let me rephrase the question .. Does this game support a quadrature greyscale input controller hacked to work with the 5200?
  7. Old topic .. I pulled out the Kraft Thunderstick for Atari to check it out again .. Googling about it only results in this thread .. So here's a pic .. All these sticks are analog for PC (15 pin male) whereas so the plug for this one is 9 pin female .. So imagining using this with the masterplay on red 5200 .. You have an analog stick that converts the signals to digital and then the Masterplay converts the digital signal to analog for the 5200 .. or Vectrex ..
  8. I too look forward to this release .. if and only if it uses the Atari driving controller ...
  9. I just got the 5200 trackball but I don't have Missile Command, Centipede or Millipede. Please share if you have an extra of these and with overlays ..
  10. Thanks for your tutorial .. I may have to tackle this someday ..
  11. Free + Shipping to a good home Channel F first version. I tried to get it to work .. But all I got was a rolling B&W image of two paddles bouncing a ball and sounds coming out of the speaker .. Pay shipping and it's yours! PM me. Rob
  12. From your description, your sticks are permanently wired to the console. If you open it up, you can detach the sticks and switch them. Issues could be broken controller wires or bad buttons inside. Minor troubleshooting could fix .. Or replace with Atari sticks ..
  13. Go ahead and add input for the Voice if you want that coming out of your TV audio too.
  14. After using a hairdryer to heat the adhesive glue and removing the labels very gently, I sprayed the silver parts using Rust-Oleum American Accents 2x Ultra-Cover and got pretty good results .. Because my Odyssey 2 Microprocessor is stamped on the plastic, I had to mask over it. Below it is the O2 Voice which does have a removable badge logo.
  15. I will try I it when I have time after restoring my O2.
  16. When you painted yours, you painted over the ODYSSEY 2 logo on the left upper side. What did you replace it with??
