  1. Thanks, Robin, for the fine work on this project. I jumped on the project as soon as I saw it, and I have four carts for my efforts. One of the five pico boards received would not take the firmware. I think the bootsel button was not working, but given the investment, I did not spend much time on it. Now to print some carts and get a couple of these in the mail:) Mike Update: After some thought and being stubborn, I revisited that non-cooperative pico board. I was looking at my work but did not look at the board itself. I found a solder bridge on the flash memory chip, ever so small, but a bridge. Once fixed, the board accepted the firmware, and it's good to go.
  2. Hello, some of your solder joints look questionable. I'd go back over them again. Mike
  3. Are these the files you are looking for? 1088XEL Realan Back Panel (Venkman Design).stl 1088XEL Realan Lid (Venkman Design).stl 1088XEL Realan Top with-cart.stl 1088xel_realan_lid_venkman_design.svg
  4. It looks like this eBay seller charges a straight up $50USD for shipping, and that is on everything they sell on ebay.
  5. I just want to give a big shout-out to Mr. Robot who so graciously offered and delivered several keyboard connectors upon request to me last week. I've been here just a little while;), but I've seen over the course of that time it is members like Mr. Robot who are the cornerstone of great hobby communities especially this one. We are certainly fortunate to have him and so many other talented and generous folks here. Now if I could only get these boards from my friend Santosp;), another cornerstone to this great community, just kidding brother I know you are working hard. Mike
  6. Updated - I have taken Mr. Robots offer concerning these Keyboard Connectors. Mike
  7. Anyone interested in a bulk purchase of this keyboard connector to save some shipping cost? It appears the shipping from the vendor is $24.
  8. I can use two of the keyboard connectors if you have enough?
  9. Panos, I would be interested in 2 boards thank you sir. ?
  10. First, thanks Michael for the potential public release of the 576NUC+ and I fully support your decision not to provide absolutely no tech support. I know back a few years ago when a few of us decided to get boards made for Dennis van Weeren's Minimig. Dennis made it very clear then that he would not be assisting no one with issues from building the Minimig. It was the community at Amiga.org that pulled their collective resources together to get boards completed and to workout issues amongst ourselves that took on the project. That Xilinx Spartan-3 (XC3S400-4PQ208C) FPGA on the Minimig was the do or don't for many as the soldering of this chip was very difficult. Any how, I'm looking forward to building the 576NUC+ one day.
  11. Ok, not to derail this thread or maybe to re-rail it. Maybe it just me or was the focus of this thread to bring the attention to those who hi-jack a topic as opposed to starting their own topic?
  12. Site still not accepting my sign in information.
  13. Jurgen is a honest and reputable individual that has been serving this community faithfully for years. I have had at least a dozen transactions with Jurgen and not once has he failed to meet the expectation of what I have requested plus some. I'm appalled by anyone would do such a thing, especially if it is a member of this forum, and if it is we should run their ass out of town. Common-sense solves a lot of riddles, but to some that is in short supply.
  14. Yes, it is DVI to HDMI cable at 60Hz refresh, with a aspect ratio 16:9.
  15. Sophia 2 on my 40" TV. Sharp and great color. Just one more to install:)
  16. Michael's synopsis of time is accurate as an estimate for building a XEL.
  17. Oh my! I built 4 XEL (two for me and 2 for others) for under that amount with some variations, but not many. The hours spent building the XELs was the true value for me. Either way, the enjoyment of having a well designed, built, and awesome device is now yours Sir! Congratulations!
  18. I noticed that when I flashed mine, assuming you are using Windows 10, that I had two COM ports (COM3, COM4) and I clicked the drop down box to see COM4. My fujinet was on COM4.
  19. Michael, I'm sorry to hear of that happening to you. We accepted, maybe not all, that when the 1088XLD was released that there was a clear understanding that if an individual undertook the project that they took the responsibility as well. I know even the Beta folks were having issues, but that was to be expected, hence the term Beta tester. Again, I respect your decision on what you release and how it is done. However, my disappointment still remains, and that is not your problem, it is mine;) Mike
  20. This is entirely Michael's design and I respect his decision either way. Many of us are just not users but enjoy the challenge of building and using our toys;) Just as you do Dr.V. I hope we stay an inclusive bunch and not alienate the DIY folks. As for the files they are not needed just access to getting a board when they are made available.
  21. Much rather acquire the board and build it myself as a personal preference. Absolutely no insult to MacRorie as he does many a great service in providing completed well functioning machines. As with cars, I like to build whats under the hood not just drive them.
