  1. Welcome to the wonderful world of the Lynx! I am fairly new as well. Just got my first Lynx (version 2) about two months ago, and I'm loving it! With my other Ataris unfortunately boxed and packed out of my reach, the Lynx is what I currently play the most. I find myself keeping Klax, STUN Runner, Rampart, and Xybots in play rotation the most. Especially Rampart, which is ADDICTIVE!
  2. Exxxxxxxxcellent! I'll be down for #2 as well! Yes, a professional box is a SWEET surprise! This is awesome!
  3. Yes, thanks Lynxman for bringing that to our attention. If I ever acquire a Flash Card game I'll be sure to remember this. Glad you guys like the pages for regular games. I am happy with them, although I barely have enough games right now to fill one page, not quite two, so far. But I'm working on that.
  4. Awesome updates! The pace is more playable now and the added bumpers help too. Thanks and can't wait to see what's next!
  5. Sweet! You won't be disappointed! If they are snug for the curved lips, then it won't work for the EPROMs. But still not a bad idea I am looking for a different storage solution now. I need binders that will fit on a shelf 7" deep. I am hoping to find something bigger than the cases that lynxopoly and Flash card came in. That would be cool to line out a few of those on my shelf! They are comfortably snug, but not bursting at the seams. How much thicker does the EPROM make the cart? It may work anyway, but I can't say I know for sure one way or the other. If these would work with the EPROMs, you could probably cut off the third row so they'd fit in a more narrow binder, or just not use the third row and fold/tape it back. For a narrower binder, you might do best looking for a photo album binder that holds something like 2 4x6 photos per page. Probably could get something like that at an arts and crafts store like Michael's.
  6. Hmmmm, dunno. I don't have any to test out on them. The pockets are a rather fit 2.5 x 2.5 inches and hold lipped games snugly.
  7. Hey all, Like others, I keep my Lynx II in the large deluxe case, but as you know it only holds 12 games with the system (unless you want to just pile more games into one of the compartments). So I found that a lot of people were using baseball card pages to store additional games, with velcro fasteners to keep them from sliding out of the pockets. Well that is an excellent way to store them, so I started looking around ebay to get some, but then I came across these other pages that are meant to store coins and doubloons. I had seen some like these before, but they had smaller sized pockets (2" x 2"), but didn't know these existed for larger coins, having 2.5" x 2.5" pockets instead. So, I bought some to try them out, and I really like how they fit. They hold 12 games per page, and are just the right size to fit the game, yet snug enough to keep them from easily sliding out. Anyway, maybe some of you guys already use these, but I looked around and couldn't find anything mentioned about them around here, so sorry if this is old news. But if you want to get some, just search ebay for "2.5 coin pages". The ones I got were $11.99 for 20 pages, with free shipping in the US. They are perfect for Lynx games.
  8. I am getting a linear vibe from it too, which is just somewhat disappointing. While it certainly is an awesome game, it doesn't completely feel like a Metroid game, whereas the Prime series managed to capture that feel despite being a 1st person environment. I really hope the next Metroid game will: - again feature energy and missile capsules retrieved from fallen enemies - go back to discovering suit upgrades, as opposed to "authorizing". - include a story, but have the option to either play in "Story mode" or "Exploration mode" - require the player to shoot doors to open them - find a way to aim more traditionally, not so automatic - shoot missiles in 3rd person view That's all I can think of so far, but again, I'm still very early on in the game, so there is much I haven't experienced in it yet.
  9. This is quite funny! So did you scratch those names out and write yours? You should do that, take a picture of it, and make it your avatar. lol
  10. Sounds very cool. I still wish they'd release this on the Wii, my not having (or really wanting) an XBOX and all...
  11. I've had these games since their release, and I didn't know about the Asteroids Deluxe secret 'til now. Searched the forum and found the trick, just tried it out, and wow! That is awesome!!! I was actually hoping this would be done sometime, so what a surprise to know it was there all along! hehe I would still buy a cart of original vector Asteroids though, if one would ever be made.
  12. Awesome updates! Can't wait to try it out!
  13. Yep, it certainly looks nice! Here's hoping I got my PM to Al in time. I wonder, are there any plans to do another one with the AA release style label art? If so, I'd buy one of those too!
  14. Finally got this a couple of days ago, after long anticipation since seeing all the preview videos. I'm still pretty early in the game, having only got to the main elevators section (took me forever to find that tunnel in the dark to get to that computer room and activate everything), but I'm enjoying it so far. The story stuff is a bit drawn out, and Samus is portrayed "softer" than I previously perceived her to be, but based on the previews, I was kind of expecting that. Game play is very cool. Different but fresh. Truthfully, I think it's gonna be tough to top the Prime trilogy though, but I understand they wanted to capture the essence of the classic Metroid games in a 3-d environment with this. So far, so good.
  15. Wow, that is really incredible! Thank you for sharing it with us in the video. It truly is a special item. 2 grand really seems like you got a deal on it, given its scarcity and all the extras you received with it. Congrats man!
  16. Hi Thomas, just dropping by to say hello. Thrust+ Platinum was the very first homebrew I ever purchased and has become one of my all time favorite (and most recommended to newcomers) 2600 games. Keep up the excellent work!

  17. Looky what came in the mail today! Thanks CPUWIZ!!! These are GORGEOUS!
  18. I agree, things seem to have gotten off on a quiet start for Failsafe, probably because of all the spotlights recently being on the XM and CGE. It looks like a great game and is definitely on my want list. As a big fan of PMP's work, I couldn't imagine this game being anything less than stellar. It will be included in my next AA store order for sure.
  19. I know what you mean. Shooters are less predictable, but even some of those have patterns of their own (Galaga comes to mind). Yeah I kinda figured the Yee kid stretched the truth a little. lol I wonder what he's up to now. Has he made any appearances since? Or ever shown up here at AA?
  20. Be sure to get this badboy with it- http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=78536 Yes indeed!
  21. I thoroughly enjoy 7800 Galaga, but it definitely could have been done better. Especially considering what the 7800 is capable of. If any of the homebrewers decided to tackle revamping it, I certainly wouldn't complain. I'd be one of the first in line to get a cart!
  22. AWESOME news! Great to hear it! Just say the word, and my PayPal is ready to go!
  23. Hm, yes and no. I haven't managed to finish Plutos yet, but Sirius could certainly use some work. For one, it's extremely short and it loops the same four or five stages endlessly. There is also no end screen, nor does the difficulty ramp up on multiple successful runs.. With that there's not much point in looping it. Some other tweaks would be great, too, such as removing many of those tiny background objects that kill you (ahem, two-pixel wide rocks that look like they should be in the distance), balancing the game better (i.e., at max firepower, you can destroy most bosses before they fully come onto the screen), and making enemy bullets larger so they are easier to see. Music would also help both games greatly. Shoot 'em ups like these were meant for music.. Anyways, I'm just joking about actually completing them. If it's possible, of course I say go for it.. But obviously I'm sure that would be a bit of an undertaking. That, and I don't feel these would be AA store-worthy without being polished up and lengthened. Regardless, it's still cool that we are able to play them as-is and wonder what they may have been like had more time been spent on them and they were officially released. I couldn't have said this better myself, on all accounts.
  24. Metroid: Other M (out today!) was the next big one for me. Coming up is the new Tron games. I only have the Wii, so I'm hoping that version will be good (though the HD ones look better).
  25. At 5:45 Ricky Mori says, "I never do it for fun anymore." That's kinda sad, really. In that sense I'm glad I never learned any of the patterns, since just winging it keeps the game somewhat unpredictable and challenging. I think my high score is somewhere around a mere 300,000 on a non-Speed chip machine set on 3 lives, and I am happy knowing I got there just by playing the game, not knowing the formulas. Regarding Jeffrey Yee, the times he died didn't seem to be caused by the game at all. He just ran right into the ghosts! hehe Kids are funny. They say the darndest things. lol It does make one wonder about his record high score though.
