  1. Wow, just got my Turbo and T-shirt today! FAST shipping - I just place the order a couple of days ago! Thanks again, Al. The Turbo cart, box and instructions couldn't get any better looking. And the shirt rocks! Excellent quality, and bravo for using real screen printing instead of heat transfers like what is so commonly used today. Top notch stuff.
  2. Hi and welcome aboard. I'm fairly new here too, but this is the best place to be if you want to learn more about Atari. To answer a few of your questions, that I'm capable of answering: If you're considering getting a 2600, you may want to think about which version you'd like to get. Or possibly you may even consider getting a 7800 since it plays 2600 games as well as dedicated 7800 games. If you want a 2600 for total nostalgia, you may prefer to stick with one of the older models with the woodgrain panel on the front. Check the main AtariAge front page menu to see all the different models that were avaiable. A few of the best and most reputable Atari sellers online are Best Electronics and B & C/MyAtari. Not sure of their exact url's off hand but try Googling them. Then there's also the AtariAge store right here for many new homebrew games and hardware accessories. A few of my favorite 2600 homebrews and hacks are Thrust Platinum, Lady Bug, Juno First, Berzerk Voice Enhanced, to name a few off the top of my head. Wico made the best arcade quality joysticks for home systems. They are actually the company that made the controls in many arcades throughout the '80s, and the home versions were built the same way. IMHO, the Wico Command Control joysticks are the best that money can buy. The standard Atari sticks are fine too when they are working like they're supposed to. That's pretty much all I think I know. Hope that helps.
  3. Here are the two label variations. The black one is from CGE, the gray one is the one available here. New school and retro - both equally awesome. The more I look at them though, the more I am preferring the art on the gray label. I really like how you can see the Halo in the sky.
  4. I just saw this thread in the Arcade Coin-Op section about the first drawings of Pac-Man: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/164972-original-pac-man-design-sketches-circa-1979-surface-online/page__gopid__2072096 Now, I don't know the first thing about programming, so I don't know how difficult it would be to do this, but what if the updated POKEY version of Pac-Man Collection also had the concept maze added to it? Would that even be possible, or feasible, considering time or memory capacity? Whether it would or wouldn't be, I think it would definitely be awesome!!!
  5. This is just awe-inspiring. Like witnessing the birth of mankind, or the universe. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but this truly is something special to see. Very cool seeing the mock-up of how the maze would look on screen too. How awesome would it be if that maze was worked into one of the homebrews somehow?!
  6. My copy came today. Thanks for the fast shipping, Al! Unfortunately I am among the group of poor saps that can't access our consoles to play it right now..., but the new label looks GREAT! I actually can't make up my mind if I like the one from CGE or this one better. They're both equally awesome. Thanks for the cool magnets and button too!
  7. This looks like it'll be the best thing to happen to the 7800 since it came out. I cannot wait to get one! Awesome work Curt!
  8. Hi, I saw your avatar in the Pac-Man Collection POKEY thread and wanted to say how awesome it is. (Big Pac-Fan here)

What is that image from? Is there a larger version available somewhere? Thanks in advance.

  9. This is an incredibly awesome update to an already incredibly awesome game! The sounds, especially in Ms. Pac-Man, are excellent! I don't think ANY home version (prior to modern compilations on PS3, XBOX, etc) has ever been able to replicate the sounds of Ms. Pac eating the ghosts and the ghosts' eyes returning to the ghost house like it is in the arcade version. They are such distinct sounds and you nailed them here. Outstanding job! One bug I did come across, though, and I apologize in advance if it's already been mentioned, is that a couple of times after eating a ghost in both Ms. Pac and at least one of the random mazes on Pac-man, if the ghost's returning eyes pass through a tunnel, it gets caught in that path and perpetually continues in that path straight across the screen, right through the maze walls and back through the other side. It will continue to do this and never return to the ghost house until you finish the level and start the next rack. Otherwise, as I stated already, this is a remarkable update on my favorite 7800 title. I would also like to add my support to have this as a pack-in with the 7800XM. That would be excellent! Thanks again for the awesome work on this, Bob and Perry.
