  1. So after reading this entire post... I'm pretty sure I'll be letting go of any ideas I ever had of making a game... lol god luck man
  2. Maybe someone knows, maybe they don't. Maybe I should... 1: why do some text-label games such as basketball cx-2624 have yellow text on some carts, orange on others, etc? 2: why do some games have a number stamped into the end label and some don't? 3: how can I determine the date a cart was released for certain if it doesn't say on the cart? I don't want just the day the game was released, I want to know if it's a first release, second, what. I'm a bit OCD about my lists. I would rather have no date than list an 86 release as an 81 or whatever. 4: WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND GOOD STORAGE FOR ATARI CARTS THAT STILL ALLOWS YOU TO PROUDLY DISPLAY THEM? What if I don't want my collection tucked away neatly in some suitable yet boring plastic bins?
  3. This is for those of us who never remember life without ATARI. I was born into a house that was already stocked with an ATARI VCS in 1981. Some of my first memories are of the nights when we (my sister and I) got the privelege of playing Dad's Atari. I still have that Atari (as well as a few other 2600's I have come to posess over the years since) as well as all my Dad's games. So my question is... Those of you who like me have always had atari in your life, what were the first games you ever played and which ones were your absolute favourite? My father's games were: Ms. Pac-Man Freeway Centipede Cosmic Ark Boxing Galaxian Demon Attack Gorf Golf Zaxxon Cosmic Corridor Grand Prix Shuttle Orbiter Laser Blast Starmaster Combat Asteroids BERZERK Casino Breakout Warlords Missile Command Defender Surround My top 5 were Berzerk Cosmic Ark Centipede Freeway Laser Blast Though I also loved Breakout and Space Invaders I remember thinking Golf and Casino were boring. Boxing was only fun when I got to play against Dad. And I never played Gorf until I was nearly a teenager because as a child I thought it was just Golf misspelled. My sister and I, when we played at same time, usually played Freeway, Surround or Grand Prix (which it was hard for our parents to convince her had a SILENT X). If I remember correctly I usually whooped her at all of em Except Freeway we were pretty even I suppose. My sister never really continued an interest in videogames. I did. But my main focus has always been my ATARI collection. I've gone from those few titles to boxes and boxes and drawers full of games.
  4. ok, I could probably easily do this myself if my cousin had not stolen my power cord. I have a brazillian cart. apparently by the company... DIVERTIL COMERCIAL DE BRINQUEDOS LTDA... also says "31 jogos" "02 comb" amongst other numeric ramblings...
  5. Ok I bought a lot of atari games and I have one cart which I do not know what it contains. it has labels on the front, back, and end. at bottom of front and back it simply says "videogame" the end label is destroyed beyond legibility. I know it is unlikely someone can tell me what the title is, but if anyone knows the company perhaps?
