  1. Ha, I think my copy of Checkered Flag is still in it's wrapper, or I may have played it once. I think I bought it just to fill out my collection (the Jaguar being the only platform I'm trying to collect them all, though I haven't started buying the ST to Jaguar carts yet, and am still on the fence about them (since I do have several STs if I really feel the need to play them, but some of them are awfully tempting...) Someone else mentioned Power Drive Rally, which my cart seems to work if I very carefully put it into the slot, but don't push it down all the way (not sure if the contacts need cleaning (tried) or what the deal is. But it is one of my most played games on the system, that's for sure.

Apparently he would pay people to mine and level him up.... I don't get it myself, I find WoW boring. If I am going to play an RPG, I want something with depth in story, and one that doesn't force you to grind. But on the opposite side of that coin, having everything level with you makes it boring a lot of times. Especially when you start getting high level armor from bandits that should otherwise just run away from you... yup, talking about Oblivion and Skyrim here... Back on topic.. I loved Star Raoliders and really want a copy of battlesphere. Would be awesome if Saint could work out some deal so that the rom could be included with the Jaguar SD, but I am betting that would never happen.
  3. Cool, good to know. Stupid that more operating systems don't have this feature by default, you have to enable it.
  4. Was the Alt+Arrows support added in later TOS versions? If this is still a stock 520STm with external floppy, I'm thinking it has TOS 1.00/1.02?
  5. An interesting / fun thing I did. Buy an DB9 extension cable (because reaching under the keyboard is annoying, and after so many years the ports get damaged), then get one of these; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Best-Amiga-Atari-ST-C64-C128-Commodore-Mouse-Gamepad-Joystick-USB-adapter-TOM-/232039311802?rmvSB=truethen you can use a USB mouse. For my Falcon, I bought this; https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Rechargeable-Touchpad-Multi-Touch-Navigation/dp/B0093H4WT6 Also, I'd make sure it has at least 1mb of ram, and then order this; http://www.lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=94 That should cover most of your bases. As far as monitors go, you need a VGA one that supports 15khz for it to work with the Best Electronics Cable. There is a list somewhere of compatible LCD ones (I ended up getting three, though I think my BenQ one looks the nicest. Was trying to find the wiki for you, but am getting ready for work.) Depending on the CGA monitor, if it supports RGB and you have the pinouts, might not be too bad to create a custom cable, or hell one of the Atari cables may just work out of the box with it.
  6. That is the other reason I really like the TT,standard vga monitors work. It is a shame really they didn't add that to all of the STe line.
  7. I agree, find one of the hardware devs here, like Joska and see if he needs one to test things with. I have considered doing the same with mine... except it somehow seems more compatible than my 1040 STe.... still would love to get a VME graphics / NIC board for it. Also, any idea what is on the hard drive?

Ha, was instantly thinking of The Meaning of Life. "This man is about to die...." I think as a general rule you should no longer post to forums sober. This is gold! More on topic; I found out about the original run after it was sold out... and again found out about the Gold run after it too sold out, so I never got a copy for my Jaguar. But when people say paying 500-1000 for a game is too much... dude I worked with said he's poured a ton of money into WoW. I was trying to guess how much, and threw out $10k... he said more... Yet I can't even stand playing the game more than a few hours a year...
  9. Wow, Buggy Buddy reminds me of a game I use to play on the 8-bit (pretty sure it was on that), pretty sure I never played Buggy Buddy on the ST though! Looks awesome.
  10. "Bro, I thought you said you had your 8-bits out, where are they hiding... oh shit, Camouflaged!"
  11. Now if only we could get matching glow in the dark XEGS buttons, or even the full case printed out.. I always thought the buttons on those things should glow in the dark though.
  12. Well shit! Apparently I missed clicking the damn Send Money button after I had filled everything out. Sent now! This is what I get for being interrupted mid-thought all the time (either that or much like right now, trying to order stuff from work!)
  13. How much are 600XLs going for these days? I have one sitting around, just need to test if it works, but since I already have an 800, 800xl, 130xe and xegs, I don't really need the 600xl.
  14. Ha, the other day I was having a conversation with a coworker about how most old school games wnded up having a standard control scheme, but there was always that one weird asshole developer who decided to swap the attack/jump buttons and make their game nearly unplayable.
  15. I always thought the XEGS had the same as the 130XE, but that the XLs were a slightly older OS revision? Either way compatibility on all of them are pretty good. It's just a shame there weren't many if any at all games that'd fully utilize the 128k machines. Though I know of a few that took advantage of extra memory if you had them (AR was awesome, with far less disk swapping).
  16. Calm down, Beavis. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.) I don't seem to have received an ema for my order, where did you send the emails off to?
  17. Part of me says "Who cares, it's more Atari hardware!" But I think the main difference (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but there are certain file formats (whichever one the cart one is) doesn't work through SIO. At least as far as usability. I also tend to think the cartridge port is faster, since it is... well a cartridge vs in essence a fake floppy drive.
  18. Ha, I totally want a glow in the dark XEGS buttons. How snazzy would that look with a glow in the dark cartridge?
  19. For what it's worth, Dune 2 is playable on the Falcon.
  20. I'm thinking something like The Pawn. Though not sure how hard it'd be to replace some graphics in games like that to make them better. Reminds me of a thread in the 8-bit forums where it was brought up about the old strip poker game that you could just rename the images and start the game off with your opponent being naked. I'm betting the ST version is the same way, and so it'd be really easy in that case to rename some custom images that were 24bit, no? Granted, I guess if the 'engine' for displaying such images would have to be tweaked tot support such an image. Ha, Strip Poker on the Jaguar...
  21. This is going to be awesome. Much like the Lynx SD cart, this will allow me to just leave the one cart inserted for whenever I want to play a plethora of games. Since these systems are old and I always feel like I am going to tear up the boxes when I try to pull a cart out, I don't play it all that often. So many Jag games to play and win.....
  22. I can still hear the echoes of dying over and over again in my head for Rick Dangerous. Along with the music from Pitfall 2 on the 8bit.. Amazing work! Out of curiousity, are some of these enhanced versions playable on the ST itself?
  23. Damn.... I was trying to hold off on buying a PSVR, but this and the update to allow 3d blurays through the headset may change my mind. I finally got 3d blurays to play in my Vive, but is a terribly weird work around. Agreed about fake Atari. It was like that 'Atari' Gameband. Real Atari is sadly no more...
  24. Bastards! Now I feel obliged to order something from them... I actually got my copy of Rayman for $1. They had an 'Incredible Universe' here that was one of the few stores that had all the consoles at the time (yes, even CDi), but they were going out of business so were selling all their stock for cheap. The Rayman copy was marked down to $10, but the guy typed it in wrong and gave it to me for a dollar.
