  1. That's unfortunate. I thought your version of "Klax" was/is great fun, and playability is vastly improved when played with a Wico joystick. I keep waiting for the A8 port, but... :)

Thanks! I really liked it too, but boy the critics really went to town on it when it came out. It wasn't supposed to be EXACT.

  2. The games were already fairly original in nature and much different. We changed the names and some of the game play elements as well, so they ARE different games.

No one thought my Klax was anything like the real klax, so that was no challenge. :)

And blockade is a falling block game with some differences.

  5. Does Anyone know anything about Barbados Booty? It was supposed to a underwater sequel to montezumas revenge, one of my personal all time favorite games. No one seems to have any prototype code or screen shots or even concept art relating to it. Was it even started? Seems it was shown at CES 1985, so there must be something more to it.

    thanks!

  6. Basic XL is probably worth about $10; its value doubles with the manual.

The rest of your items are quite common. I don't think that the 830 would command a very high price, given the fact that it had an extensive production run. I haven't had a phone that had a handset that could be used with that modem for years!  :)

I knew the basics were common but had no idea the assembler editor ones were common too.

Hmm, I also got a 410 and 1010 tape drive, a xep80 and a 850 module with cables. Any of those things worth anything?

    thanks!

  7. How rare is an Atari 830 modem? I just got one, along with some CX85 number pads, they must not be too rare.

Also I got an Orange Basic XL by OSS cart, 3 basic computing language carts, and 2 assembler editor carts. Any values to these?

    thanks!

  8. What it really comes down to is programming, and the programmer in general. If they are willing to spend the time nearly any game can be better on one platform or the other. Hardware limitations are hardware limitations, every system has them. Super Mario Bros and the NES were designed with each other in mind. Trying to do Super Mario Bros on a system that was designed for Galaga, Pacman and Asteroids will be a harder challenge, but not impossible. Some games can be better on the 7800 then on the Nes, some games can be better on the NES then on the 7800.

  9. I'm using the mod that was sold on ebay, it was a plug and play deal, just one or 2 wire clips to some pins, and a chip removed and plugged into a daughter board. Here might the wire go on that mod?

    thanks

  10. Ok, so give me a little more detail on this. I could then just mod my 5200 to always allow for the adapter to output composite. Can you draw me a schematic? Tell me what line to run a wire from, you cautioned, should I include a swtich? What if I was never planning on using standard RF video again. thanks!

  11. You could probably run a wire from the composite in pin on the cart slot to the composite out on the video mod. You will most likely have to play around with it so they don't interfere with each other though.

No way to do it without moding the 5200 though eh?
