  1. Good grief Charlie Brown! Re-writing the games? Seems a lot easier with todays technology to simply create a 2600 and have it really run the original software, then they'd never have to re-write it, they would be a lot more free to use whatever titles they have avaliable to them.

Seems like reinventing the wheel to me. Esspecially since most of the retro gamers want the real thing.

  2. What makes me mad is all these "flashback" consoles, and none of them have a cartridge port! I mean, how much harder would it have been to add one! There's plenty of games out there still. Probably only cost them a few dollars to make new ones with todays technology. Make about 10-20 different 32-in one, atari 2600 or 7800 carts and sell them as add-ons for the flash-back.

  3. Has anyone every built a Slam Pam clone or a 7800 with a 5200 adapter? :) Or a 5200 with a 7800 inside. I'm looking to consolidate space with a single system solution somehow.

I wonder if someone could hack a 7800 mb and stick it in the vcs adapter. Isn't that what slam pam was anyway? I thought I remember seeing that there was a finished proto found recently.

  4. Ok, I installed my 5200 Video (rca video and audio) upgrade in my 5200.

It works great! All the games are crisp and clear, but I was bumbed to discover the 2600 Adapter doesn't work on it! I can still see it on the standard cable but it refuses to go through the new video adapter. My 5200 is a 4 port. But I also have a 2 port if that would work. Any ideas?!

    thanks!

  5. So it doesn't work at all anymore?

Sometimes I run into issues with the 5200's ram not getting cleared and I have to turn mine off for at least 5-10 seconds before i pop another cartridge in.
