Any explanation for the $8 shipping fee for one Atari game, bro?Sure! I pay $2 for the box and packing materials and $6 is my average USPS cost for a < 1 pound package. I don't make any money off of shipping. If you buy more I'll combine the shipping since it will only be one box and the overall shipping will be less. Alternately, if you don't care that they're boxed up I can put them in a padded envelope and send them via Media Mail... for that I'd only charge $3.50. If you want it boxed and sent media mail I could do it for $4.50. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Did it happen to have that "new Atari smell" by any chance? Kind of a distinct plastic aroma...it was burned into my mind at a young age.It sure did! Probably not a pungent as when it were new, since it's not an "air tight" box, but still there for sure :-)
I'm surprised the joysticks and paddles came boxed, my boxed Heavy Sixers had the cardboard holders. What's the date on the box?The outside date is 1978 (later heavy!) and the joystick box is dated '79 (Taiwan)!

Hi all, this is the item's seller here and I came across this nice thread and wanted to comment and share some interesting updates. Thanks for all of the interest and emails.
First of all, the 2nd buyer of the item was "Convinced" by an envious (and clueless) eBayer (billy2931) that the item had been opened, and/or that it was definitely not a Heavy Sixer as advertised. Hence the reason it was a private auction the 3rd time around. Makes me wonder if the same thing happened the first time around when it sold for a very nice $5100... oh well.
So, the 3rd buyer wanted it opened, and asked that I open it for him and take pictures before he paid, which I happily did because I was so curious myself... so attached I'm including pictures of an ORIGINAL HEAVY SIXER (S.N. 75068F) seeing daylight for the first time in 30 years!
Please note the glue on the [now opened] flap shot, and that there is only factory glue, no reseal as some "guessed." Thanks to all of you who believed!
Enjoy!

Hi, thanks for the offer, but I did sell both a long time ago and apologize for not updating the thread. Good luck with your search! It's a lot of fun. :-)
