HSC Season 2 Week 24: The Empire Strikes Back
Lauren Tyler replied to Ze_ro's topic in 2600 High Score Club
The force is starting to come back to me! (And now I know how to become invulnerable in game!) -
HSC Season 2 Week 24: The Empire Strikes Back

Man, I forgot how great this game is. Also, after you lose all your lives, your speeder comes up and starts flying around, so that's why mine is still onscreen. -
HSC Season 2 Week 23: G.I. Joe - Cobra Strike
Lauren Tyler replied to Ze_ro's topic in 2600 High Score Club
Well, this will probably be my last effort for this week. Just when I was getting the hang of it too! -
Frankly, I would kill to get a joypad for my 7800, since ProLines are rather awkward to use!

Well, I'm getting used to using the mouse, and I'm getting a little better. -

A little more practice and I'm back again (I had taken the first score pic earlier, but couldn't upload it for some reason.) -
HSC Season 2 Week 23: G.I. Joe - Cobra Strike

Well, first effort, and before you suggest I get a 2600-to-USB converter, let me tell you my paddles don't work. -
I hate snipers too. I almost had won an Atari 2600 with several games (including Montezuma's Revenge, which was what I was really after) but at the last second someone outbid me. I'd like to know who it was so I can hunt them down and relieve them of what they pilfered from me!

Getting better, and here's a small tip: -The closer the spider is to you, the more points you get when you shoot it.

Which version of Namco Museum has the best ports?
Lauren Tyler replied to Lacan's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I've often wondered, is there anyone on here, aside from myself, who owns all five Namco Museum games? And as for the different versions, I really didn't notice much difference between the GameCube and PS2 versions, although a couple of tunes in Pole Position are still out of tune, and they sound like they were redone on cheap synthesizers. At least in Pole Position 2 the tunes are in key and they sound the way they did in the arcade. -
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050614/ap_en_tv/pac_man_s_25th Pac-Man has officially turned 25, and he shows absolutely no sign of slowing down apparently. (What's ironic is that I'm also 25, so Pac-Man debuted the same year I was born!)

Getting a little better.

I know for a fact I can do a lot better, I'm just not fully awake yet.
-
Again sorry about the quality, but I think you can sense a pattern here?
-
So is there like a blank 2600 label template available somewhere?
-
My first effort, although the quality really sucks.
-
Getting better, and here's a bit of advice: When you shoot a tank, it still remains onscreen for a few moments, meaning that you can use it as a shield against shots from the other tank.
-
Those are some great labels. Isn't there like a template or something for them, where you can photoshop your own stuff onto a blank template?

Getting a bit better.

Played this before when I was fooling around with different ROMs, but never actually tried to figure it out. Rather fun game actually. Anyway, here's my first score.

Gamemaker does look good, but what if your problem isn't knowing how to program, but rather, you can't draw sprites to save your life? Let's just say in general, I stink at drawing. What do I do then?

I can sympathize with your back, when I got my XBox, the subway line that ran by the Best Buy I got it at was out of service due to some trees having been blown down onto the tracks (it's like a streetcar type thing combined with a subway) so I had to walk up the street to the next station, which was underground. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing extremely heavily, and I had no bag to carry it in. (A worker at EB Games who I knew well gave me a big bag fortunately) I made it home and my arms were sore for a week. At any rate, here are some of the games I own: House of the Dead 3: Decent at best. If you like the series, you should like this one. Dead or Alive Ultimate: An enhanced version of DOA 2 (which was sorely lacking in replay value on the Dreamcast, and I'm glad they added more to this version) as well as an enhanced version of the Saturn version. Very nice. World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 International: Konami seems to have a way with soccer games (for the most part, anyway, I've seen at least one stinker) and Winning Eleven 8 is definitely a great game. Even if you're not a soccer fan, you should give it a try, since it's very deep and involved, and the animations and sounds are great. That's all I can think of for now.
