  1. Oh never mind, but did you have to choose games with multiple titles??
  2. What do the numbers mean specifically, though?
  3. Uh OK, I don't get this one bit.
  4. #17 was easy for me, as that's the only Atari 2600 game's serial number that I've memorized!
  5. How do you remove the ROMs from the menu? I believe you, but I just don't know how exactly to do it.
  6. So you can buy them separately for a buck a piece? Man, I'm going to start eating at Burger King more!
  7. Hey folks, I've been a long-time user of MESS for awhile, and a few times it's told me that there are too many software images loaded, and that the emulator cannot be run. I have no idea what causes this or how to remedy it. Anybody else know what to do?
  8. I recently just visited the Atari 7800 history webpage (www.atari7800.com) and read about the "Fabulous Eleven" for the system. I had no idea there was such a thing, and then I reviewd my collection and saw that I owned the entire collection without even realizing it! For those who are curious as to what the Fabulous Eleven are: Centipede Asteroids Dig Dug Food Fight Galaga Joust Ms. Pac-Man Pole Position II Robotron: 2084 Xevious Desert Falcon Is there anyone else out there who has the entire Fabulous Eleven in their collection?
  9. Well, another score from yours truly. And I wanted to say that I wasn't trying to specifically pick just more of the well-known games from like Activision, Atari, Imagic, and other companies like that. When I had picked it, I was pressed for time and I needed to pick something quickly, and that just came to my mind. To tell the truth, I would've loved to pick something else, but I didn't know what I could pick. Next time, though, I'll remember this.
  10. I had no idea it was a typo. I guess even the best of the best make mistakes. At any rate, here's my first entry.
  11. As Yogi Berra (and Lenny Kravitz) once said, 'It ain't over till it's over!' And it's definitely not over yet!
  12. Just hooked my Saturn up tonight, and I've got an awful buzzing through the speakers, like some kind of interference. Never done this before, any suggestions?
  13. A new high score, and some of my strategies: -Be patient. You're not under any time limit of any kind, so don't put your ship in jeopardy just to nail the last saucer. Wait untill it's safe. -The chirper ships won't attack you, but they can provide a few extra points if shot. -If you see the Green Bouncer Ship, you can move safely to a row which it just bounced in, since it works its way across the screen. -The Blue Charger Ships can be deflected with a shot, but don't confuse them for a Rejuvenator! -Be careful in the later levels, as the saucers will sometimes try to ram your ship instead of just shooting it!
  14. Another one that I had wondered about. Well, I've been playing this one since I was a kid (about 5 or 6 actually) and after all these years I still can't get to Sector 99. At any rate, here's my first score. Think I'll go boot my Atari 7800 up and try playing on actual hardware for once!
  15. Not to mention, doesn't the cover art look like something out of the Jungle Book? I mean, the character on the front looks like Mowgli! (Yet on the back it calls Tom Boy a girl?)
  16. Beamrider was one of the few games that my dad enjoyed watching me play, since he enjoyed the sense of 3D it gave off for that time.
  17. Ironically, I had thought about whether Enduro would be acceptable or not. Well, guess that answers my question!
  18. So we're restarting? I don't mind, it's just we should have a preset restart date, that's all. And what about this week's game?
  19. With a little practice, you can accomplish anything (for the most part)
  20. And now, after some warming up, I'm able to get off to a good start.
  21. I just thought I'd provide some pointers for gameplay: -Patience is a definite virtue. Rushing from level to level will only result in you meeting an early demise. Since there is no time limit, don't be afraid to use the ability to drop to lower levels, especially if you're cornered. -Although the Recognizers, Grid Bugs, and tanks are tough, they can't turn around. If you see one on the floor above you, wait untill it goes past the elevator above you, and then go up. Just make sure to keep an eye on the other levels in case another enemy might be coming to that floor.
  22. Sorry therealred5, I cut and paste the wrong sections. That quote should be attributed to keilbaca. Sorry again.
