  1. Atari 2600 Adventures of Tron-10 minutes Jr. Pac-man-20 minutes, really difficult but amazingly good Seaweed Assault-10 minutes Space Treat Deluxe-10 minutes, hard to stop playing this one as I always want to try to reach a higher level. Atari 800 Donkey Kong-15 minutes
  2. Just noticed Bing/MSN was a user for a few hours yesterday as well, joining Google and Facebook as a bot user.
  3. Great post. I like your top five as well, with Starmaster as my favorite as well. I'd like to try Star Fire. It looks like it might be a great game, worthy of this list. I also like the shooters mentioned by chuckwalla above, and the ones that are in between the space shooters and chuckwalla's shooters (Radar Lock and Solaris). The 2600 has such a great selection of games.
  4. 2600 Pac-Man 8k-15 minutes Pole Position-10 minutes Seaweed Assault-20 minues Atari 800 Donkey Kong-20 minutes Pac-Man-10 minutes Seamus-20 minutes Linux Bugerspace-15 minutes
  5. Personal opinion, of course: Best: Seawolf Worst: Mountain King
  6. sitting on top of the world, slow version

  7. Can we block them (Google, Facebook) from having bots active on this site?
  8. Yes, it's a stock, chicklet keyboard. Shiny and new. And plastic or rubber, whichever it is in all its tan and neutral color glory. I think it may be sold very soon. So thank you to everyone who considered and contacted me.
  9. Hello. I hope this isn't a silly question, but why is Facebook listed as a user? Same with Google? At the bottom of the main page, they are always (almost) present. And quite often while I'm reading a thread, it lists Facebook as viewing the topic. I've noticed this for some time, but became concerned when CPUWIZ mentioned that his browser alerted him that Facebook was trying to run scripts on a page he was viewing on Atari Age. Thanks for replies and for understanding, since I don't fully understand how this forum works, nor how Facebook is tied to it.
  10. Very Nice! I remember those days, wandering around Toys R Us or Sears to look for the Atari displays, of course without Adventure II and the multicarts being a reality yet.
  11. Probably. I can look into it and let you know. Also, I can ask around if anyone around here is headed to the UK anytime soon and has room. I decided to keep the 800 after it sat in a giant box in the dining room, driving my wife crazy for 2 weeks. I thought I had it sold, but then the deal fell through as the buyer disappeared. So I thought I'd try to make room by selling the 400 instead. Now I wish I hadn't sold Preppie II and Beef Drop since the 800 with 48k is still around. The good news is that there is still Atari gaming going on, and one of my machines might move on to another home and create a little room.
  12. How about $23 shipped to your door? That's about what it will cost in shipping at UPS. This 400 needs a home where it's wanted and might get used. Here it never gets used due to the three 2600s and the 800 logging all the playing time. Anyone interested in a working Atari 400 with 16k and a new keyboard and a chip in the plastic?
  13. Seaweed Assault is a bit like your description of Star Castle. It can be purchased from RT for an affordable amount, and is quite fun and a little like Yars Revenge and Star Castle underwater. And by the way, if any of you love Star Castle, which I do, and still keep a DOS machine around, there is a shareware version called Xolo which is quite good. The authors ask you to pay for it if you keep it on your computer more than one year. Very good game too. Can be found at DOSgames website.
  14. All true. Great guy to sell to. I sold him a disk drive, everything went smooth. I'd sell to or buy from Allan anytime and recommend doing the same.
  15. I'm sorry you feel put upon, but I've had the opposite experience here. The A8 people have been really nice and helpful. Mimo, therealbountybob, penguinbluejeans, and several other people have helped me out time and time again in regards to 8-bit issues. I feel very welcome here in the A8 forums, even while being a 2600 guy most of the time. The 8-bit folks are very passionate about their machines, and very helpful if you just ask.
  16. For Sale, Atari 400, with 16k, has new keyboard, power supply, and a small chip in the plastic below the spacebar. Asking $43 shipped anywhere in the USA. Thanks for considering.
  17. MRCS, where are you located? And is your 810 still available? I just sold mine and am having thoughts of possibly getting another. Possibly.
  18. Yes. It's exciting to get and play new games, that are currently being produced. The 8-bit scene is good, and the 2600 scene is really bustling. Look at the store here at Atari Age and browse through all the homebrews and the reviews. People are excited to play new games on old systems, to see what can be done, and to see what's never been seen. And simply to play something new.
  19. My two year old likes Pole Position a lot. He also like Moon Patrol, but prefers the explosions on the 8-bit version. And he likes Circus Atari, Off the Wall, Smurf and Congo Bongo. So RT, if you can make a game where you drive around and around and make things explode, while monkeys or gorillas roam, that would be his favorite game.
  20. Great buyer. I just sold him an 8-bit cart. He paid promptly and kept in touch throughout. I'd be happy to buy, sell, or trade with labrat again.
  21. Good News! Thanks! Now if I can only set aside some money for Boulder Dash and Turbo. Don't laugh, it might happen.
  22. I've used both an Atari 810 power supply and a Sega Genesis 1 power supply with mine and they work fine. There's an old thread on here somewhere about how you can use an AT&T answering machine power supply and also a Radio Shack generic power supply. I've also seen a Mattel power supply that worked, but I don't know what it came from, perhaps an Intellivision (it was a higher voltage however, so that would make me a little nervous for long term use).
