PacManPlus,
what kind of happenings are you looking for exactly?
There are tons of good rock and Latin music concerts in FLA. Everyone plays Florida. There are the Coconut Grove Art Festival, The Los Olas Art Festival, the Christmas Boat Parade in Ft. Lauderdale, major sports events in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and numerous pet/animal events, as well as parades. There are symphonies, ballets, the Miami Calle Ocho festival. There's deep sea fishing, the Everglades, white water rafting upstate, college football and baseball, the Salvador Dali Museum, many many other art museums with events and exhibits, the Keys, the islands off the Tampa Bay for camping. There are races of all kinds (boats, cars, foot). There are big lectures at the universities. There are also events at the libraries. There are major car, design, culinary, and fashion shows. But as for video gaming, there seems to be real lack of events. Is that the kind of events you are looking for?
PS-I'm a native Floridian who has been away for awhile, but I do go back several times a year. I really do miss the ocean, the multiculturalism, and the food.

Excellent guy. He does an outstanding job on making carts, great communication and shipping. Highly recommended!

I'm hoping to get one of these as well.

Does this mean Sunmark is back? I thought he closed down his Atari business. I hope he's back, but this could just be old stock.

Pac-Man. I really dislike those pits in ET, and the sound of Pac-Man makes me laugh.

Seaquest, Joust, and Frogger are also great titles, and much cheaper than Air Raid.

EDIT-added Joust

I'd start with Adventure, Berzerk, Yar's Revenge, Enduro, Cosmic Ark, Ms. Pac-Man, and Phoenix.
Then go for genres like post #4 stated.
There are a ton of good games in each genre. My favorite is the arcade genre(Centipede, Donkey Kong, Missile Command, Berzerk, Ms. Pac-Man, Phoenix, Galaxian, Solar Fox, Crystal Castles, etc.). But there are a lot of other good ones as well. In the adventure genre, there's Adventure, Montezuma's Revenge, H.E.R.O., Pifall and Pitfall II, Venture. There are a bunch of good driving games like Bump n Jump, Spy Hunter, Enduro, Night Driver, Pole Position. There are a bunch of great space games like Solaris, Star Master, Star Fire, Star Wars Arcade. And there are so many great shooter games like Chopper Command, Spider Fighter, Space Invaders, Defender II/Stargate. And there are a ton of great new homebrew games available in the store here on Atari Age. So many games, so little time.

There are Shamus conversion carts floating around out there for 5200. I really like that one. It's like Berzerk, with a little more complexity (finding keys and treasures, unlocking doors, etc.)

Read Only Memory.

Get Mr. Amiga in here to break the tie.

and how many people are playing crossfire on the keyboard?
just asking...
sloopy.
I tried it, but I couldn't get used to it quickly, so I went back to the joystick. However, when I have more time and less incentive to score higher, I'm going to give the keyboard another go. I like moving one way while shooting in another direction. Like Robotron.

Crossfire
2690
This one's addictive.

Crossfire 2150
Back for another go.

Crossfire 1260
Finally got a few quiet moments to play a game on my own. I'll try to beat that score if my beautiful baby keeps sleeping. Fingers crossed.
By the way, is anyone else having trouble seeing the bullets of the enemies on this one? I can barely see them. It might be my tv, or my color blindness, or my old eyes.
Not sure which. Maybe all of the above.

Bump for it being shipped well and being so beautiful.

I received mine and agree all the way.

I agree with everyone above. Her work is excellent, and as a seller she is top notch. The Power Lords box arrived yesterday, and is fantastic. I would definitely buy from her again. I hope she makes more cool boxes in the future.

Atari's gaining some steam.
-
Desmond's Dungeon, because I'd never seen it before and would like to give it a try.

I like to play on the real 2600, with a single cartridge. I do like emulation for trying homebrews in development though. But once a game is released, I'd rather have a cart and play it on a 2600.

Atari 2600 all the way.

Same here. I'm looking forward to receiving this one.

Does anyone know if that Choplifter will run on a 48k 800. I know one version only runs on a 64k machine, just don't know if that's the one.
-
I hope this doesn't change your mind about making more games for the 2600. The real Atari is the community not the company.
Thank goodness I didn't get that Fuji tattoo I was considering!
I suspect Boulder Dash® will be the last game/engine/system I ever write on the 2600... the hobby appears to me to be dying.
Only 200 downloads *total* for the demo? How sad... 6 years of work. I doubt I could sell 250 copies even if I wanted to.
Time to move on...?
Andrew, please don't stop programming for the 2600. Your Qb and Christmas Qb are two of my favorite 2600 titles. I play them on a regular basis. Boulder Dash just might not be to everyone's fancy. I assure you, that if you make a variety of titles, they will appeal to a variety of people. Another factor might be that many people prefer carts to roms and emulators. Once Boulder Dash is on cart, in the store, it might sell more than you think, especially around Christmas. You are a great programmer and a great asset to the Atari hobby community. Please don't give up.

Several of the Sega Genesis football games were my favorites. Bill Walsh Football and one of the NCAA games were great fun back in the day.

HSC8 Round 15: Qix & ROM
in 8-bit High Score Club

Finally realized I had this one, Qix. Played three rounds which were periodically interrupted by my 2 year old pushing start and/or the power button.
Scored 19,045.
