  1. There are two versions, with slightly different graphics. One was released on cart, and one on disk. I don't know why this was done, but it reminds me a little of how two choplifters were released for 800 as well.
  2. Are Kabobber and Targ still available?
  3. My parents were in their late 20s when they bought us an Atari. My friends' parents were all in their early to mid 30s. The kids who played were all 9 to 14.
  4. I wasn't going to say anything but there is already a little parcel somewhere over the atlantic... save the money towards your SIO2USB/APE If anyone stateside has got an SIO2PC or home made equivalent spare please post This round can also be a catchup round so if there's anything anyone has missed this season you can post scores here. littlemanjack can also re-play any other games he has from this season to improve scores Wow. In my best New York accent, "You are da man!"
  5. Just get a Wii. I have a Wii, but Atari isn't on the Virtual Console and I don't have the homebrew channel (with what I'd assume 90%+ also do not). Also, on the homebrew channel can you compete with one another on 2 player games with friends across the country? Does it save high scores? Thats the appeal of this system. Having a Wii or Xbox Live is appealing (and fun), but the appeal to many vintage game fans is the cartridges in opposition to just having a bunch of games on a hard drive or sd card. The actual vintage media is part of the fun.
  6. The problem is shelf space. Retailers need to make so much revenue per square foot. Selling Atari 2600's aren't going to cut it. Why not have Video 61, Best Electronics, B & C Computervisions, 4Jays, Atari2600.com, Pack Rat Video Games, and Atari Age sell them? They could probably find customers and shelf space.
  7. I'd go with 98 over 95. But you may have to get an older laptop.
  8. I own none of these, but I see Video 61 has the Crossfire cart for $20, and the disk for $10. Does anyone know how big a difference there is between them? I saw on several websites that the graphics are slightly different, but is the game play better on one over the other?
  9. I love Xolo (like a fancy Star Castle) and Jumpman. Also, if you can find them, any of Champ Games arcade games are great (Champ Kong, Ms. Pac-Em, etc.)
  10. Choplifter on a monochrome monitor.

  11. Nice haul, with the WICO and all those games.
  12. Haunted House 2 Bosconian Apple Panic/Space Panic Kill the Attacking Aliens (great O2 game)
  13. You can pick up a loose copy of Stargate for less than $10 here :https://www.atari2600.com/cat--Atari-2600-Games-S--SUB37:100.html or a new in box copy at video 61 of Defender II for $20. Neither seems overpriced to me for one of the largest, best 2600 games. I don't think you can find one at auction for cheaper, but if you have a lot of patience you might find one here at Atari Age in the Marketplace for less. It's a great game, worth buying and playing.
  14. It would help if u had voted for it!!! I did!
  15. Aquatron could win . . . if were up against Congo Bongo and Galaxian. Go Aquatron!
  16. try 4jays website, they might have some
  17. One of my favorites too. There's also a great linux version called solar wolf. But I like the 2600 version the best. It feels like a true arcade game on the 2600. Which it is.
  18. Doesn't Centipede use analog control as well?
  19. Some early games do not work on the xl or xe. And many later games won't work unless you have 64k or more ram, which means you need an xl or xe. It depends on which games you want more.
  20. Go ahead, put DKjr in the next poll. Everyone knows that Aquatron is going to win.
  21. I hope you keep Stella around. It is a hobby for you, so don't stress too much. It works great as it already is now, so any changes you make are just icing on the cake. I use it with Linux and it works beautifully.
