  1. I think Donkey Kong, Joust, and Berzerk are all excellent. And I like Jr. Pac-Man and Pac-Man just fine.
  2. Dragonfire, Cosmic Ark, and Trick Shot are three of my favorite games period. So these would be my top Imagic games.
  3. Atari 800 River Rat- 20 minutes Tutankam- 10 minutes Preppie-10 minutes Quasimodo-20 minutes Crazy Clown Jumper-5 minutes Pooyan-5 minutes Atari 2600 Power Lords-10 minutes Pac-Man 8k- 10 minutes Game Cube Super Mario Strikers- 15 minutes Crazy Taxi- 10 minutes
  4. I droppped NMP as it wasn't paddles (unlike most other pinballs where you can use the two butons) and to give variety I chose Kaboom over Chicken (by Synapse), as it was a bigger name and I thought a lot of people might have it. I'll try and post you a disk, hopefully will cross the pond in time! (send me a list of any new games you have since last time ASAP and I'll fill it out with some others) p.s. You can sub in Chicken and NMP either way! *YOU HAVE RIVER RAT* Hello. Sorry about the delay. We had another tree down, and it took out the internet and phone again. We just got everything back today. Thanks for reminding me about River Rat. I didn't realize it was here after all. It's quite good too. Here's my score best score so far: 84,290
  5. Mono is one of the many linux controversies, along with KDE vs Gnome, rpm vs. deb, old desktops vs. new desktops, etc. Fedora and Gnusense do not support Mono, while Ubuntu and Debian do. So you probably will have to install mono from source yourself if you want it on Fedora. I don't think you'll find it in the repositories.
  6. What happened to Chicken and Night Mission Pinball? I voted for paddle games because these two were on the list and I owned both of them. I don't have any of the ones that actually were included. Maybe they'll make it into a second up the creek round?
  7. Atari 800 Defender- 5 minutes Donkey Kong- 15 minutes Moon Patrol- 20 minutes Ms. Pac-Man- 3 minutes, (sorry, got interrupted) Pac-Man- 10 minutes Preppie II- 10 minutes Atari 2600 Burgertime- 10 minutes (flickery mess, but fun) Defender II- 15 minutes (beautiful game) Arcade Centipede- 10 minutes (darn spider!) DOS Champ Kong- 10 minutes Linux Burgerspace- 10 minutes
  8. I keep a 4 switch woody only because it was the first Atari I ever played. Otherwise, I like my vader and Sears Video Arcade II quite a lot. But I really like the way that the 4 switch woody looks. It's simple, clean, light, and has the woodgrain. All nice features. But the vader does display better color. I never knew about the reason until I read post #6 by Benzman 66. Thanks Benzman66.
  9. Have no fear orpheuswaking, two of the so called paddle games (Chicken and Night Mission Pinball) can be played with joysticks. And that's how I might play them if that category wins, because my paddles are quite jittery these days.
  10. Thanks for the info! I never knew. Are they anywhere near as comfortable, or sturdy, as the Genesis controllers?
  11. I've used a Genesis controller on Montezuma's Revenge, also with no problems. The Sega controllers that I read about, that were said to be detrimental, were the Master System controllers. But I have absolutely no experience with them.
  12. The subject of how well 2600 paddles work on the various 8-bit computers came up in the high score club recently, and apparently the paddles don't work as well on the XL and XE models as they do on the two original tanks (400 and 800). Is this the case with any other controllers? Are the 7800 prolines and joypads okay to use on the various 8-bit systems? Are any controllers unusable, or not advisable? I once read that some Sega controllers could actually damage Ataris due to voltages that they sent into the consoles. But I don't know if that's actually possible since I don't understand how the controllers actually work. Does anyone know the answers to any of my ramblings? I generally use the CX40 or a WICO stick (ball, bat, or boss). Thanks in advance for any input.
  13. Are these still going out?
  14. The even littlerman and I both tried today to better our scores, and both of us fell short of our previous high scores. We'll try again tomorrow. I just can't stop making silly mistakes, and he can't, well, can't stop being 2 years old for now.
  15. I don't know much about the Apple II or its prices, but you might check out the Video 61 website. I'm pretty sure that he has some Apple II software new in box for sale. I'm not sure how his prices compare to ebay, but it's worth a look. You can order from him online or over the phone. He is always helpful and quick to ship when I order Atari 8-bit, 2600, and 7800 stuff. Hopefully his prices are better than ebay prices
  16. Trade them with people here in the Atari Age forums, or with Lance at Video 61, or with 4Jays.
  17. Atari800winplus+4.0, Altirra and Atari800 2.2.0 emulators all can emulate paddles using the mouse. Has anyone used real paddles on an emulator before Blasphemy! I usually use this 'emulator' ;'D even works with paddles! sloopy. Yes, it works really well with paddles! The XLs and XEs really do emulate the original 400 and 800 quite well.
  18. I like my Video Arcade too, but it has problems with several games. It won't play Basketball or Volleyball correctly. Volleyball just rolls, and Basketball distorts the players so that they look three times taller. And there are a few other games that I can't recall that won't play on it either. However, it does play all the later games pefectly. I often fire up Atari red label games, Montezuma's Revenge, and HERO on it. I vote for the Vader, because unlike my VAII and woodgrain models, it plays everything and has never died. I love the look of the 6 and 4 switch woodgrain models though.
  19. That sounds like a great event, for a great cause. I'm afraid I got the message too late. I hope it was fun and raised some cash to help the people of Apison. Let me know how it went if you can. Thanks.

  20. My 2 year old son just scored 600 with lots of giggles. Very funny to watch.
  21. Just got this one in the mail. First go round 5,400.
