Maybe Albert will have a chance to answer after the holiday season is over.
Thanks! I hope so. If not, there may be a boxed copy in my future. Great game.

If the O2 could be pushed that hard, there should be some amazing homebrews for it. Are there any?
I know that there have been some amazing Atari 2600 homebrews.
Check out Packrat Video Games website. They sell some excellent homebrews for the O2.

Not a bad idea! Thanks.
However, I'd like to keep my cart because it is a numbered cart, and that makes it a bit special.
-
Will there be an option in the AA Store to buy Seaweed Assault manuals for those of us who bought a cart in the 1st run of the game, before boxes and manuals were available?
-
I like the O2 a lot. KTAA is one of my favorite games for any system.
And the two KC Munchkin games, UFO, Killer Bees, and Pick Axe Pete are all fun too.
And games keep coming out of a few sites such as Pack Rat, so it gives you something to look forward to with the O2.

And if you mod a FB2, then you have the more modern wiring to hook it up to a more modern tv. It can go right into the side or front, instead of the back of your tv with no mods to an original 2600. If you like that sort of thing of course.
Otherwise you can stay old school and use an original 2600 into the coaxial port. Which still works and still rocks.

I'd like a loose cart, and possibly a box depending on the box price. But for sure, a loose cart. Looks like great fun, which is how the 2600 should be.

Buying a console with games as a lot (as mentioned above) off ebay or from 4 Jays is a good way to go.
I got back into the 2600 by buying a 2600 with 10 games from 4 Jays. And then I started reading the reviews at videogamecritic.com and reviews here on the blogs at Atari Age. Just look at the games under the 2600 section of Atari Age and there are links to the manuals and to reviews. Also, the 2600 homebrews in the Atari Age store are a good bet. They're made by enthusiasts, and usually over a long period of time with a lot of dedication, and are a lot of fun to play.

Has anyone seen the xlatari.com website?
I was looking for a few cartridges on the web and I came across this one instead.
It allows you to play the 8-bit games on your pc, although it looks like you might have to pay to play for a long time.
Is it any good?

Looks like we're done here so will close this round in the morning

Thanks for giving us a catch up round. It was good to get a few rounds of Joust in before the holiday road trip.
-
-
Joust, only 19,000 on advanced. Another go round needed.
-
86,450 on Joust skilled level.
I'll give the next level a go next.Glad to be able to play some catch up.

SeaWolf, followed closely by Qb, Video Pinball, Adventure, Pac-Man 8k, and Defender II.

One more note:
the author of Hunchy made another Hunchy. It's Hunchy II, and can also be found in the Atari Age Store under 2600 homebrews. It's a really great game, and takes the idea to a whole other level. It has hints of Miner 2049er and other great platformers. And there's really nothing else quite like it for the 2600.

c107,
hello. You can get te game at the Atari Age Store, on the 2005 minigames multicart. It's the 1st cartridge listed in the 2600 homebrews section, and ccontains a bunch of good, little games. One is even a two player simultaneous tank game.
Here's a link too: http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=331
And kudos for the GNU link. Good stuff!

This could be good. I'm just next door and believe there's a bunch of TN and GA folks who might show up for this

I love Choplifter, but don't have a working copy anymore. So Joust it is. Great game too.

Gingerbread Man, Mario, and the Chocolate Chip Cookies.
And I do like this game, and liked it back in the day too.
I was upset at first that it didn't have the third and fourth boards,
but got over it once I played it on the Atari 800.
You have to have a different strategy for this one compared
to other versions, which makes it uniquely 2600.

Hello olduk82,
there's a new store in Chattanooga, TN in the Northgate Mall. I believe it's called Blasted Tech Video Games. They carry a large selection of old games and systems. They have a bunch of 2600, 5200, 7800, and 400/800/XL stuff. They have systems and games. And they have an arcade. Pretty amazing place. I believe that you can contact them via their website.

Exciting find, and in good hands.
-
Thanks for the reply. I'll look for another power supply soon.

Cool. They said the songs were voted upon on Facebook, but I don't think many people knew they could vote. I didn't know. Perhaps if the word got out, then the set list could be changed a lot from year to year. I'll have to look it up next year if they come back.

Last night the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra presented this show, and it was excellent. Anybody else see this in Chattanooga or in another city? Video Games Live was the name. It was a music, game, and video show that combined game music, game play, game videos, and audience participation. It started with a costume contest and went on from there. Quite good, and touring the country apparently, played by different orchestras and hosted and led by a traveling trio (host, singer, conductor).

Someone has posted one before. I remember printing it out in the summer 2013 for my kids at camp. It should be somewhere in this dedicated systems topic, just a little way back.
