  1. 86,450 on Joust skilled level. I'll give the next level a go next. Glad to be able to play some catch up.
  2. SeaWolf, followed closely by Qb, Video Pinball, Adventure, Pac-Man 8k, and Defender II.
  3. It's too cold and wet for BMX, but perfect for some Atari.

It's never to cold or wet if you race indoors. http://www.usabmx.com/tracks/1931

Yes! There's an enormous indoor bike trail with jumps and logs in Ohio. I read about it in a mountain bike magazine, but they allow bmx-ers as well. I wish we had one in Chattanooga. Perhaps a road trip is in the cards.

  4. One more note: the author of Hunchy made another Hunchy. It's Hunchy II, and can also be found in the Atari Age Store under 2600 homebrews. It's a really great game, and takes the idea to a whole other level. It has hints of Miner 2049er and other great platformers. And there's really nothing else quite like it for the 2600.
  5. c107, hello. You can get te game at the Atari Age Store, on the 2005 minigames multicart. It's the 1st cartridge listed in the 2600 homebrews section, and ccontains a bunch of good, little games. One is even a two player simultaneous tank game. Here's a link too: http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=331 And kudos for the GNU link. Good stuff! littleman jack, Atari Ager and Linux user
  6. This could be good. I'm just next door and believe there's a bunch of TN and GA folks who might show up for this
  7. I love Choplifter, but don't have a working copy anymore. So Joust it is. Great game too.
  8. Watching the World Series.

  9. Gingerbread Man, Mario, and the Chocolate Chip Cookies. And I do like this game, and liked it back in the day too. I was upset at first that it didn't have the third and fourth boards, but got over it once I played it on the Atari 800. You have to have a different strategy for this one compared to other versions, which makes it uniquely 2600.
  10. Hello olduk82, there's a new store in Chattanooga, TN in the Northgate Mall. I believe it's called Blasted Tech Video Games. They carry a large selection of old games and systems. They have a bunch of 2600, 5200, 7800, and 400/800/XL stuff. They have systems and games. And they have an arcade. Pretty amazing place. I believe that you can contact them via their website.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I'll look for another power supply soon.
  12. Cool. They said the songs were voted upon on Facebook, but I don't think many people knew they could vote. I didn't know. Perhaps if the word got out, then the set list could be changed a lot from year to year. I'll have to look it up next year if they come back.
  13. Saw Video Games Live last night. Quite a show.

I've wanted to go for years. They never have anything close to me. I was going to buy tickets to a show about 3 1/2 hours from me on NOV 8, but now they have a location like 1 1/2 from me that is tba so I'm waiting.

  14. Last night the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra presented this show, and it was excellent. Anybody else see this in Chattanooga or in another city? Video Games Live was the name. It was a music, game, and video show that combined game music, game play, game videos, and audience participation. It started with a costume contest and went on from there. Quite good, and touring the country apparently, played by different orchestras and hosted and led by a traveling trio (host, singer, conductor).
  15. I've never noticed this until this evening. My power supply got scorching hot. Is this normal? It was plugged in for about six hours and on for about two of them. I usually leave the plug in the wall, but tonight I put it all away and noticed that the power supply was extremely hot.
  16. I may be the only one with the opposite experience. My games generally look better on the 7800, especially 2600 homebrews. I always assumed that it was due to better shielding on the 7800.
  17. If you live in eastern Tennessee or north Georgia or even northern Alabama, heads up. At the Northgate Mall, on hwy 153 in Hixson, TN there is a new game shop. It's huge and has systems from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and today. They have a healthy collection of 2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Odyssey 2. And they have an actual 70s style arcade, with about 35 arcade machines set up and ready to play. I was blown away and left smiling. I have to go back this week to pick up some 2600 and 5200 titles, as well as to play Donkey Kong on an actual arcade machine for the first time since the 1980s. I don't recall the name of the shop, but it's all the way down on one end of the mall, next to another retro shop (a record store).
  18. Scored 2600 Desert Falcon for $1.95 locally. Quite happy!
