  1. Centipede with 2 players--team play One-on-one Choplifter Pac-Man Collection Beef Drop Asteroids Deluxe Joust and dozens of 2600 games, both old and homebrew
  2. Welcome to the forums! Choplifter is a fun, but tough, game. One-on-One Basketball is pretty fun as well (especially when you break the backboard and the little guy comes out to clean up and scold you). The two player cooperative modes on Centipede and Asteroids are both excellent. And as has been mentioned several times here, the homebrews from the Atari Age Store are quite awesome for the 7800, so you really should give those a consideration. You won't regret buying and playing a few of those. Cheers!
  3. I remember mine being beige. We got it the first or second year of manufacture. But I guess there were batches that looked a bit different. The 810 disk drive matched exactly. It was a pretty bland color. But what a great machine once it was upgraded to 48k!
  4. I agree. NYC was quite fun, and funny. I loved that you could go to the automat.
  5. Check Video 61's web-store. They had it for sale in the 7800 section last time I visited.
  6. Very nice! Did the original message say "Love from Russia, I know my Russian is not very good, See you later"? Where did you get the Russian script to use in the forums? I've studied Russian, worked in Russia, and love any opportunity to use it again. There are lot of Russian speakers from Russia and Ukraine, who I can occassionaly speak with, where I live now. They're all very gracious and friendly to put up with my bad grammar. Speaking Russian, or at least attempting to, while in Russia, definitely gets appreciation there. I once got invited to a stranger's wedding party in Suzdal just because I was trying to learn Russian. And it was one great party! Very fun and jolly. Bydt zdarov! littleman jack
  7. There is a N64 arcade stick controller out there. I saw one at a used games shop two years ago. Unfotunately, that shop went out of business. There are probably several out there on ebay or maybe at 4Jays or somewhere similar.
  8. Hello. You might get some takers over at the 7800 forum. There's a discussion of this under the SAVED MARY DUMPED thread that just began recently in the post.
  9. Berkerk, followed by Phoenix and Enduro the next day. Circus Atari was the first game I played, though, on a VCS.
  10. In no particular order: Donkey Kong Tempest Outrun Bosconian Pac-Man
  11. Time Pilot Vindicators Bosconian (Blast Off! and Battlestations)-I loved playing the table version of this at Show Biz/ChuckECheese back in the day. There's another for which I can't recall the title. It was something like Kosmic Kaos or Cosmic Chaos (I think it was spelled with a k, two actually). It was a little like the 2600 homebrew Fall Down. It had platforms all across the screen (like Pick Axe Pete for the Odyssey 2) and they were moving. Each platform was simply a line that crossed the screen with a small opening in it somewhere. The object was to jump from platform to platform and not get squashed by bad guys or platforms while collecting bonus items. Does anyone remember this one?
  12. There was a huge arcade somewhere in South Florida that was in a castle buildiing . It may have been called The Castle, and it probably was in Ft. Lauderdale or North Miami. I used to go to as a kid in the early 1980's. It was amazing because of the number of games. It would always have about eight or nine of the new titles (I remember when Mrs. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong Jr. each came out) plus obscure ones too. And it had great ambience. My uncle would always take all of us little ones (cousins and brothers and friends). Sadly, it closed. I think it was knocked down to expand the roads. South Florida also had Castle Park, another castle with games, but smaller. Castle Park also had mini-golf and go-karts. It didn't quite measure up to the other castle. It closed as well, possibly due to hurricane Andrew. I don't know because I moved away from there in the late 1980's. Oh, and there is a Sega Star Wars Episode I Racer game at Sir Goony's Fun Center in Chattanooga, TN. Pretty great game. I know someone earlier mentioned this one.
  13. Hello, can a moderator move this thread to the wanted sub-section? I didn't realize that's where it shouldn't gone at first. I should have read a little more before posting this one. Thanks!
  14. My favorite five: 1. Atari 800 2. Atari 2600 3. Atari 7800 Sense a theme? Hey, this is Atari Age after all! 4. Nintendo 64 5. Sega Genesis And the runners up------Sega Dreamcast, Magnavox Odyssey 2, and Nintendo DS
  15. Now that Sunmark has closed its doors and is no longer making multi-carts (I found out a few weeks too late) , does anyone know where to find Pharaoh's Curse, Canyon Climber, and Shamus for the Atari 800? I was hoping to find them this Christmas, but I missed the boat. Thanks for any info! Oh, and a few more, I'm also looking for Apple Panic, Pinhead, and Pathfinder (not Pastfinder). Thanks!
  16. Vinnie, I'm stoked. I hope the new games keep coming. A big thanks to Atari Age for the three games this year! I'd love to see some platformers, adventures, and platform adventures (like Miner 2049er, Montezuma's Revenge, Pharaoh's Curse, etc.) The 7800 is lacking these types of games, although the arcade games are rocking (Pac-Man Collection, Centipede, Beef Drop, Asteroids, the three new games this December).
  17. Pac-Man Arcade is simply awesome! It's fun, and it captures the spirit and look of the original. I'm sure it has been stated in these forums before, Pac-Man Arcade is what Pac-Man should have been on the VCS the first time around. It has the colors, the sounds (pretty close), the fruit, and the look of the original. It's a bit squished and is missing parts due to the space allowed on a TV of the time, of course. But if you liked Ms. Pac-Man on the VCS and the arcade Pac-Man, then you will be impressed by Pac-Man Arcade.
  18. Pharaoh's Curse had some great things going for it, though, that lifted it above Montezuma's Revenge and later games. The mummy and pharaoh chasing you around were funny, the screen designs looked fantastic and exotic with bright colors and patterns, you could jump into the walls of some boards and walk around thus paving new paths through the rooms that were not obvious, there were secret spots in some walls that would transport you to other screens, the character really moved quite fast, and it had elevators like Donkey Kong and a bird/feather which was like the bat in Adventure.
  19. You could always email 4jays in california, or atari2600.com (don't know where they are located). They both carry multiple systems and might stumble across a Famicom from time to time.
  20. It was my first console. It is sturdy and looks cool. The joysticks (8 directions and one button: simplicity is awesome). The games are fun. The games load instantly, and respond instantly. The colors and blockiness just look good, no nonsense. Homebrews are still coming out, and most older games are affordable. There's always another game to discover that you didn't know about in the 80's.
  21. SeaWolf Lady Bug Wolfenstein VCS (a hack, but so much different from the original Venture) Flap Ping (for fun 2 player action) Hunchy II 2005 Mini-Game Multicart
