  1. I'll join in.

I'm in canada, so put me down for the american team, but you can use me as filler if you want.

    I vote for:

    Ice hockey

    Summer Games

    Tennis

    California Games

    Boxing

We need an opening ceremony. :D

I changed Norway to Canada, and put you on the Canada team :)

    Thanks! :D

Although im not too sure how many other people wil be joining this team...

I'm a pretty decent writer... If you want, i could type up an intro for the competition, to set up an atmosphere for our "trained" competitors..

Also, we may need some drug testing procedures... (imagine what times you could get on decathlon doped up!)

  2. I dont think contra force should count as one of the series.

    :x :x

    :?

It's a Contra game, complete with the same logo/title screen, it's a run-n-gun platformer. What else do you want?

I forget the title of the original, but its actually a japanese sprite swap, not an original contra game.

By that logic SMB 2 shouldn't count as part of the Mario series. :P

Thats how it is in my mind! :D

  4. Download DOSShell.

    then, set it up.

make sure you have a folder in your c:\ drive that looks like this: c:\(whatever you named your folder)

then take the downloaded games and make them a folder, and put THAT folder inside of the one in c:\

Then go to dosshell, and do what in says in the picture below: edit->add new entry-> fill out forms and give location you put the game folder (which would be c:\-----\11th hour\executable.exe) (executable is the file that starts the program, the name would probably be something like 11th.exe, dont worry about the other ones)

Then you should have a path in dosshell which, when clicked, will load the game.

you may have to slow or speed up the game if its not running normal speed, which im pretty sure is f11 and f12, you might want to check the dosbox FAQ

picture below to help you, hope that they're clear enough.

if it still doesnt work, ill download the games later on at some point and document all the steps to get it to run, ok?

  5. Dosbox.

If you still have trouble then use MoSlo.

    www.dosbox.com <---dosbox download and tutorial

www.abandonia.com <----- i think that you can download them both here

a little complicated at first but once you figure it out its really easy to use.

  6. Oh Lordy.

    Bad Thoughts.

But, they have to be questioned.

So, i put this question towards you guys.

Whats going to happen to our much-beloved Atari 2600 When the nostalgic generation is done?

The kids that grew up with the 2600 are getting older by the day (sorry guys, time to face the truth :D) and what happens when there is no more nostalgia? no more people who grew up with it?

will that be the death of it?

    Give me your thoughts.

(sorry if this is a bit incoherant, it's 4:00 in the morning   )

  7. Hey!

First time posting in this forum, and im a little scared... (dont hurt me!) :ponder:

anyway, i have a question for you guys. :)

i was wondering, what is the most accessible 8-bit?

i've been seriously thinking about investing in a commodore 64, or one of the *various* atari 8-bit models.

but, on both the hardware and software sides, im pretty clueless. :(

i would mostly be using it as a gaming system, (although who knows, i might end up screwing around in basic a few times)

so, i would like to stray away from any hard-modding (soldering, e.t.c), although anything SMALL is always possible. what i really want is kind of a "out of the box" experience, but with capabities to upgrade, if i ever choose to delve deeper into your world ;)

i guess, in a nutshell, im basically asking, what would the most accesible 8-bit computer be for a super noob like me?

Go ahead and fire off some technical stuff at me too, as long as my head doesnt blow up first, i'll try and understand to my capabilities :D

oh, and also, go ahead and recommend the different atari models to me, i know many of the differences.

Thanks in advance, -Elerach :P :D  :) :ponder:

  8. Hey, i'm looking to buy a dreamcast.

it doesnt have to be in mint condition, but it must work.

it also has to come with all cords, at least one controller (more than one would be preferable) and at least one game.

looking to spend under 50$ shipped to canada.

    Thanks in advance, -Elerach

  9. Do you guys think that the 2600 is the *console* with the most vaporware?

For all those who dont know, Vaporware is a game that is announced, but never released.
