  5. I'm not sure... the guy who owned it said he used to do video editing with it, but couldn't remember much about the upgrades he did to the system. Is there any way in software i could check, or would i need to open'er up? Also, does anyone have any idea what that 5 1/2 inch disk drive was for? this is just a wild guess, but i had heard there was a way to attach such a drive to the ST and use it to run mac software...could this something similar?
  6. So i ended up getting the system today. Turns out it was a better deal than i thought, it came with a VGA video card (looks sharp on my 21" monitor!) a 100 Meg Harddrive with workbench installed on it, 8mb ram, and oddly enough, what seems to be an external 5 1/2 inch disk drive? I didn't think these even existed for the amiga! Either way, i just got the system hooked up, and i was wondering, how do i get started moving WHDload games onto the hardrive? Is all i need to do literally move them from cd-rom onto the hardrive and run them from there? also, will it read regular burned disks, or will i need to burn them using a certain method? Thanks for your help so far, looking forward to your answers.
  7. Hey All, I recently was given the opportunity to buy a complete Amiga 2000 with 2mb expanded ram, and an internal CD-ROM drive for about 80 dollars (which seems like a fairly good deal), but I was curious as to how easily (and quickly) I would be able to transfer and play games onto my Amiga through a CD-ROM would be? Transferring games via floppies is near-impossible and through serial damn slow, but i was wondering - would it be possible to throw 100 ADF games on a CD-ROM (properly formatted, of course) and just load them onto the system through the internal CD-ROM? i.e, Could i just throw the ADF for Stunt Car Racer onto the CD-ROM, open it up on the Amiga 2000's CD-ROM, and literally open up the ADF and load it? I wouldn't have a hard disk for the Amiga right away, but if it's not possible to open up the games themselves, if i bought a hard disk would it be possible to just throw the games from the CD-ROM onto the hard disk and load them from there? What would i need to load games onto the Amiga and play them there? Any help would be much appreciated, i don't know very much about the Amiga. Thanks in advance, Elerach!
  8. Hey guys, I just received an atari 520stfm in the mail today , but unfortunately it did not come with a power cord. I have been scouring the internet trying to find the specs to see if i have one around the house i could use, but i cant seem to find it anywhere, and the st user manual is not exactly very helpful either. Can i use a regular pc power cable? It seems to fit (but i would never dare turn it on without knowing) Thanks, Elerach
