  1. Hey everybody, I recently got a lynx, but im having some problems with it.

I have an AC adaptor, and i tried 6 batteries, but no matter what i do, i cant get it to turn on. i tired cleaning the slots, trying different games, e.t.c

But no luck...... the cart door wont close all the way but i put the carts in and they *click* like they should.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to remedy this problem?

  2. Hey, im looking to buy a lynx system.

Im looking for the system, (A/C adaptor REQUIRED) with a couple games. no boxes, nothing fancy, just a good condition system with a few games.

I live in canada, and will be paying via paypal.

    Thanks in advance, -Elerach.

  3. Hi, I bought a 4-switch wooden Atari VCS on eBay, with 61 games, two joystick, a pair of paddles, all the stuff and I have some (maybe stupid) questions;

I have a TV/Game thing for the plug in the TV, it works well and I find the quality good. I read that with the little coaxial thing the quality is better, but is it really better because like I said it looks fine.

Than, some joystick question. One joystick is really stiff to move, the other one isn't. I can't see why, and I wanna know if I can do something about it. There was a lot of dirt, I put a little water on the rubber thing so it's clean but still stiff. Also, the button on that joystick misses the spring, so that sucks.. I read that I can replace it with the spring inside those pens, does it works? Well, I tried to cut the spring to the good size but I can't cut it, oh well...

About the paddle, one of them (unfortunetly, the "first player" one), is jittery (I think that's the word), if I just open it and blow in it, it's okay or I really need to put something? And If I do, is there something that I might have in my house that'll work well?

One of my catridges just doesn't work. And really, it doesn't work, there two or three others games that I had to try many times before it works, but this one just don't work. Do I need to put something like alcohol in there or it might work if I blow in it and use a Q-tip during hours (I know, I'm saying stupid things..)? And this game appears to be the special Popeye label. Made in Taiwan, something like that. Which has a "?" rarity. I don't know why, could you tell me if it is rare?

I think that's all, sorry if this is a little stupid. Oh well, thanks for your future responses ;)

    Hey Pascalbg, Welcome to Atariage.

First of all, its not a huge difference between the "tv/game" switch and the coaxal adaptor, (especially if the switchbox looks decent on your tv)

S-video or a composite mod is where its at.

Well, it could be just that the Joystick you have is generally stiff as another problem, lots of joysticks and brands have very different feels.

There lots of guides out there to Clean your atari 2600 paddles. its really easy as long as you can take it apart.

Here is a good one: http://www.longhornengineer.com/Fixatarico...lers/2600paddle

By Popeye do you mean this? http://www.atariage.com/software_page.html...areLabelID=1711

If so, i don't know, because it has a label that looks a lot like a lot of PAL titles i've seen... Well, if it says NTSC it says NTSC..

Also, try scrubbing your cart contacts with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol, that works well to clean it.

Again, Welcome, and good luck in getting your atari on. :) ;)

  4. I am looking to buy a 3do system.

It must come with at LEAST one controller, it's real (or a suitable replacement) A/C adaptor, Composite or RF cable, and preferably 1 or 2 commons.

I would also prefer not to buy the model with bad compatibility (Goldstar FZ-10, i think?)

I live in canada, and would be paying via paypal.

    Thanks in advance, -Elerach

  5. I recently got a master system, and damn! it`s so great!

I have been playing the hell out of gangster town and the AMAZING version of choplifter! the lightgun is pretty good too!

I got a couple other good ones like hang on, enduro racer, and rescue mission, too.

If i had any complaints, i think it would be both the terrible sports games (YUCK!) and the fact the controller is a bit inexact.

Anybody share my feelings on this classic system?

(oh yeah, and i'm probally going to get some hate for this, but do you think that master of darkness, one of the few castlevania clones on the system, is BETTER than the first two castlevania games? :P

  6. Hey, I just bought a ds lite about a week ago, and it seems like im having a problem with the touchscreen.

It seems to be ....... out of place.

I didn't really notice it at first, but i have been playing lego indiana jones lately, (a game where you mostly use your finger, instead of taking the stylus out every 10 seconds) and it seems like the screen is loose.

At first it was only in the right corner of the touchscreen, but now if i press only a TINY bit more than i need, the screen pushes in and makes a very faint creaking noise. It's not quite a click, but it definitely feels awkward.

It's also really annoying me and it seems like it gets worse every time i play the ds.

    Now, my questions.

1: Has anybody else had this happen to their ds? and if so, what did you do?

2: Is this A common problem? I've played only maybe 3 different ds's in my lifetime, and i haven't noticed this before.

BY THE WAY, i have not dropped it or had any kind of impact with dropping it or hitting the touch screen, and its in immaculate condition, just like when i bought it a week ago.

    Thanks in advance, -Elerach
