  1. Just C64 and Vic-20, with some random unintentional A8 and Amiga stuff thrown in. I actually stopped collecting for computers for a long time, but now that I have pretty much everything I want console-wise, it's the next logical step. However, my approach with computers is totally different. I mostly want to get boxed titles that I owned at one time. Also I collect titles that are very good games with either really great box art, or documentation or extras that are worth having, or both. I have no desire to be a completist collecting everything from a company or a genre, because there's just too many titles for computers to do that.
  2. Between '81 and '84 amassed about 50 carts, became obsessed with computers once I finally got one, and sold my original Atari and games at a garage sale (cheap). REBOOT: In '89, bought a friend's old 2600 collection of a light sixer and maybe 20 games for a few bucks. He brought it all to school in a paper bag. Sold all that on an online forum in about '91. REBOOT: In about '92, found a "big box of Atari stuff" for sale on another online forum, and met the guy at a used games store, and bought the whole box of maybe 30 games and another 2600. Sold it all about a year later somehow or somewhere. REBOOT: Around '94-'95, started going to thrift stores regularly. Found a 2600 and some games. Found another 2600 and some games. Hey, this stuff is cheap! Started going to flea markets, garage sales, wherever I could find more 2600 games. (Found some C64 and other stuff, and started buying up those, too). No more reboots. Been going ever since. I've slowed down in collecting for awhile a few times since then, but an a 2600 has been hooked up somewhere everywhere I've lived ever since about '95. So, I guess it'll be about 20 straight years of collecting since the last reboot. There won't be another reboot, I'd be crazy to sell everything I've worked for, only to get the bug again and have to start all over.
  3. Yes, I've always used MAMEburners (not that one specifically) and IMO, it's the best way to go. Then just find the emulator to go with those roms (since they're not supposed to send you the emulator and the roms at once) and you're all set.
  4. I wish I'd picked up an SX-64 at some point over the years. Always wanted to, probably had a few chances, never took them. Well, I certainly hope pictures become available!
  5. Very nice guy to deal with, thanks again!
  6. Christmas 1981, Atari light sixer. Combat pack-in and also got Asteroids. Only 2 games and they kept me entertained for weeks. Now have 100's (just 2600), and as great as that is, it's nothing compared to the magic of those 2 games that winter '81/'82.
  7. ...or at least as far as I care to. There's a few I'm resigned to never getting because they're too expensive, and I'm just not willing to pay the price. The only three I really need to "complete" are: Indy 500 Maze Craze Mario Bros. And I'm not too sure I really care about Mario Bros. All I really need are the boxes, but willing to take CIB if necessary. Anyone have any to sell/trade? Must be good to excellent condition. Thanks
  8. First post updated. Deals on the rest, just tell me what you want.
  9. It's pretty challenging. Not sure I'd get into it much, but it's a neat idea.
  10. Sure, but not for those of us who have no interest in having a huge PEB on our already overburdened desks!
  11. I'm sure this isn't the site you are referring to, because I remember that site, but can't find it now. But this site looks pretty great and at least has screen shots of the various platforms' versions to compare: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/ultima/ultima.htm
  12. I also have a boxed Basic Programming, International version, in stellar condition. It only has one overlay (left, I think) and doesn't have the little envelope thing that the overlays came in. But the box is super nice. I will post up a pic tonight if I get time, but $17 (firm) + shipping for that.
  13. The following are sold... first post also properly marked sold: Backgammon (text) $1 Basic Programming (text) $3 Combat (# text) $1 Hangman (text) $1 Slot Machine (text) $4 Slot Racers (text) $1 Video Chess (text) $1 Dragster $1 Fishing Derby $1 Grand Prix $1 Kaboom! $1 Stampede $1
  14. Correct, on a regular 1541. The 1541-II has a separate power supply.
  15. Sold items moved to bottom of listing. Prices marked. If you buy a lot, you'll get a better deal.
  16. I just got the C64 version of Ultima I working, though I read it's not necessarily a great version to play.
  17. $55 + shipping (won't be much)... much cheaper than a new one, and you get it now, no wait!
  18. Updated, sold ones crossed out. The deals are happening here folks. All the good ones are left (commons are going to live a better new life), so make offers.
  19. Just make a reasonable offer. With people waiting for more of these to be made, I figured people would be all over this.
  20. You guys are making me want to buy all those Ultimas (except for maybe IX) from GOG. I already got the free ones. I suppose it's probably the best/easiest way to play them at this point, especially on a Mac. I tried to get Ultima I working on the C64 last night to no avail. Keeps hanging on the Origin screen.
  21. I'm actually trying to complete my 2600 boxed collection now, but leaving out the big $ titles, because I'm just not willing to spend the big $ on a 30-year old game. That said... Maze Craze, Super Breakout, and Indy 500. I guess my wants are pretty simple.
  22. SOLD I have a brand new SDrive micro I bought last year (2012) for sale. I tested it to make sure it works (it does) and that's it. I also have a SIO2SD that is good enough for my needs, so this one can go. Has the case and the SIO cable attached. Don't wait for another run, get yours now! I think this was right around USD$75 last year. I can get a better pic if you want, but it looks just like any other SDrive micro Make offers via PM. Thanks.
