  1. It doesn't matter to me if this release will have a box or not.. I'm more of a gamer than a collector nowadays, so just a cart only would be fine with me and would also be cheaper. :)

Yeah - I've tried to get this point across to the publishers - with 'ZERO' understanding. Buy a game boxed $50. Buy a game cart only $25.

Box sits on a shelf collecting dust forever....

Game gets played every now and then (or more often)...

What would most(?) collectors/gamers want...? I'd hope 4 games for $100 versus 2 boxed games for the same price.

    Then again....

  2. Yes, the '2 player' option selected carries through to Skull Soccer.

Been working 7 days a week / most 12 hours day - so haven't had time to say that I did receive my games (Thanks!). Did play each game for 4-5 minutes - enjoyed them all.

  3. Just a quick update in the progress of my wife's health, she went thru 6 chemotheraphies (thanks to your donations!), losing 8 pounds and after a checkup the cancer stays with same size. The last chemo was pretty devastating for her stomach and health.

Now physician wants to keep chemotherapy for life (apparently he thinks she will resist forever and that we're swimming in money) and to do full-brain radiotherapy because a single metastasis in brain. She isn't fond of taking radiotherapy after reading the benefits are minimal for her life-expectancy and the 6-month late effects in brain damage.

We will have to take a decision soon.

The good news, our daughter Myriam Sofia is growing healthy and even though the drugs my wife is growing hair.

This picture is from my birthday, one week ago, my wife only departed a few minutes because she keep vomiting in the bathroom, she has fighted so hard and keeps smiling.

Thanks everyone! We are in deep gratitude.

Wow - that hi score still stands....

Wish I had the time to compete... just to busy these days.

  5. I got VERY lucky a few years ago. I went to visit my mother and found a video game store that I did not exist when I lived there. Anyway the guy had 2 Vectrex units for sale - one had 12 games the other 13. There were 5-6 dups in the whole lot. Oh and most of the games were in their boxes. I asked a price and he said he wanted $125 for each system. At the time I did not know that this was a good deal!!! I did purchase one unit and games and then the other a few weeks later. (darn - no MR. Boston in the set... did get Polar Rescue however - without a box/overlay...)

Have added several home-brews to the collection over the years. This is my 2nd favorite system

  6. Hey Coleco programmers... (from A to Z)

I've followed this thread for several years and I'm just a Coleco fan with ZERO knowledge of programming on the system (years ago I wanted to learn but those days are behind me...).

but to all of you (for what it's worth)... THANK YOU for sharing ideas etc here so that you can continue producing games for the Coleco

    Continue please...

  7. Of course that would make it very rare. It's pretty tough though as is. I may add a outer box specifically for storing the tank. I might even put in bg environment graphics and a clear window so it would display nice and keep it safe during shipping.

I'm having fun with it. ... and it's correct scale if you have a handful of those small plastic army men laying aorund. just sayin.

Hey, If you do decide to make 5-10 boxes it would be cool IF you could put 5 or so little army men inside as a bonus...! (Do they make those any more?)

  8. Here is a prototype for a limited edition box I'm making. I'm not sure how many i'll make of these but not many for sure.. likely 1 for me only!!! But then again maybe i'll make 5-10. I'll probably make the finish gloss when done but it'll look pretty much like this other wise. I'll make a regular box as well as this one is time consuming.

    Sweet - I like.

But I'd need a special box to keep that tank in mint condition!

If that 'box' came out in 83 then 99.999% wouldn't exist today (and folks would be wondering why it had 'Donkey Kong' on the inside! :P (Gads! you didn't destroy a Donkey Kong box to make this did you!!!!) :D

  9. Yes - but...

Got a system and 10-12 carts several years ago. Picked a few off E-Bay but then it seemed like everybody wanted $20 for commons.

Got a multi-cart (excellent buy) and pull the system out once or twice every other year to play (more of a C64 guy - although that has been in storage for 4-5 years...)

  10. I had to look up my high score after seeing your screen shot.

My high score (from 30 years ago!) was 186405 Level 7 Screen 3 Difficulty 1.

Can't get anywhere near that now! To old and the reflexes just don't cut it!

    Good score BTW!.

    Jeff

I once got to level 8 on Q*Bert on skill difficulty 1. No matter what difficulty you're on, the game really starts to get difficult around level 5. Once you reach level 5, you need so many things to be timed just right and work in your favor. I rarely ever reach level 7 or 8, but I almost always reach 5 and sometimes reach 6. It's pretty much hit-or-miss once you reach level 5.

On skill difficulty 3, I hit 130,490 points recently in Q*Bert.

  11. 'Wonderful' PayPal comes thru again.... .

I'm sure there's a 'reasonable' reason while this happens - it's just that one or two 'bad apples' make it a pain for 99.9% of legit sellers... :woozy:

I've been lucky to never had problems with them (PayPal spies please read and note!!! Never had problems with you...)

  12. Frankly I'm surprised that publishers put out games in the first place... It's a no win situation...

Make 100 copies and 101 and up complain that they didn't get a copy. Flip it around and make 250 copies (at some big expense) then sell only 150 and then you're left with 100 unsold carts for a long time...

    So...

Why not publish a game without a box...? (makes it cheaper)

Why make only 5/10 copies of a game...? ('special' editions)

Why not sell the ROM after a time...? (can't afford a boxed copy)

Why don't you do a pre-order...? (seems simple enough - ya right try it)

    Why don't you do this...?

    Why don't you do that...?

Know matter what you do someone else will have a better idea on how you should 'run the business'.

Trust me - I've missed out on some carts (THAT I REALLY WANTED) due to finances / limited cart runs / receiving emails during 'off' hours / being on vacation / not checking AtariAge every day / etc.

I wish I had unlimited funds and could hang around AtariAge / EBAY / and other places 24/7 to pick up everything... but I can't.

I for one give out a big 'THANK YOU' to Opcode, Team Pixelboy, CollectorVision and all the other individuals who publish the games & make new hardware for my Coleco (and fix it when it breaks down).
