  1. Hello,

I've recently received a couple of Hombebrew carts that won't work on my CV. I've tried 3 different machines, and they didn't work on any of them. I've gotten replacement carts and same issue. They did work on my Adam. One of the games is The Stone of Wisdom. Spoke to Luc about it and he asked me to try an experiment. He had me push the cart to the far right and turn on the machine. I could get the cart to boot 2 or 3 times out of about 100 tries. Last night I tried another experiment, I removed the cover from my CV and both carts that were problematic boot reliably. Any one else having issues with Homebrews?

Just tried my cart - plugged it in - works fine. Coleconut (If I recall correctly) modded CV with the SGM plugged in.

  2. CIB - WTF!

Last week I burned 6-10 XONOX double ender boxes in the fire place - they take up to much room.

When the carts start taking up to much room - I'll burn them too....

    :P :P :P

Seriously - CIB became WAY to expense a couple of years ago.... I need 4 carts to complete my collection....

  3. All the prototype controllers that I have seen in Ads, Press Kits, the one that I own, etc. have used a grey Spinner Wheel whereas this one that was just auctioned has a black Spinner Wheel and even the firebuttons are black.

I should have known better seeing as the seller is located in West Hartford, CT and has/had a number of other items listed in different auctions... mainly ADAM items.

ED: they have an ADAM system up for auction now that includes a Video Hustler cart. This prototype game has been available for years in rom image format so nothing earth shattering, but the cart probably contains an Eprom Cart PCB withan Eprom chip containing the game... not too many of these floating around.

Yurkie was the lucky bidder - see his post.

  4. Gosh, I just finished debugging the most challenging game I have ever ported in my life, Ghostbusters. What a f***** mess of a game, I had to basically run it one instruction at time, side by side with the MSX version until I could figure out what was going on.... and my head hurts now... I deserve to go out to have dinner...

3 freaking weeks trying to get this thing to work... but it is finally running now... most of it at least... in the process I may have learned why I couldn't get some past ports to work properly, like Hang On...

    I feel your pain buddy!

Not related to the SGM but currently "I'm" modernizing code written in the early 70's.

    OMFG!

Don't know what the Coleco code world is like but 'MOVE InField1 to OtField4' doesn't give me a friggin clue what is going on! Takes hours to figure out...

And my bosses want to know why things take so long... :-(

And 'Yes' I agree with Luc! Glad to see you are back.

    Jeff

  5. "But what would you rather have? Trading cards or actual new ColecoVision games to play? :P"

    Well that's simple!!

Scrap all of the rest of this c-rap and have Ed and Mystery Man develop an entirely new game based upon Trading Cards!!!! :P :P :P

I'm dying to try out Spelunker (and all of the other games) - loved that game on my C-64.

Time to start putting money aside to pay for many Coleco goodies that are forthcoming!
