  1. Are Heavy Sixers without channel switches older than those with them? Even if the serial isn't very low?
  2. Yes Google is indeed my friend and together we did find these and more. Problem is, I asked about S-Video modding for INTV. Not composite. Thanks for the links though. I don't feel like composite is enough of an improvement for the trouble. Anyone have info on S-Video? IIRC, you can't get S-video from the INTV. Ah darn. That would explain why I can't find anything. I was hoping it could do the same as the 2600. I hope to get a mod from Longhorn for my heavy sixer. Shame I can't do the same for INTV. As of now the best INTV image I can get is from the Intellivision Lives disc. I do love that collection though.
  3. Easy there fellas. No need to get sensitive. lol I love plenty of games everyone else hates. That's just part of the game.
  4. Why didn't they bury EVERY copy of the game? (it would have done the world a favor)

  6. I've looked here and there but I can't find much info on Intellivision video modding. I read it was difficult? Anyone know where I could get an S-Video mod for my INTV? It's actually pretty impressive how much better it looks just on default RF than my 2600.
  7. I would think of all places you'd find little to no love for teenage drama it would be at Atari age. Most people here are likely double your age. I'm only four years away from it myself. I was officially released in 1979... Just like the Intellivision. lol (yes I know the INTV existed in 1978 but technically so did I!) My dad once told me my Genesis was going to get axed if I didn't stop being a smart ass in school. Guess what happed... That's right, blast processing all over the place. Daddy don't bluff around here. I'm still a smart ass though. lol It must not have worked!
  8. I should have been more clear in my opening question. I really wanted to know if something chemically was wrong with using the product. I've heard a couple of random things here and there that worried me. (pulls moisture out) I only use it once every two years or when I get an old plastic that may need it. That's also why I'm interested in the 303 mixture. This was the way my original childhood light sixer was kept up by my brothers and to this day despite hundreds of hours in play and sitting everywhere from window boxes to on the grass (don't ask) it still looks new. No fading or anything to be seen. This is unlike other hardware I've collected where abuse and age really show. All this stuff about it magically seeping into the device and posts assuming that anyone using aa does it totally wrong and retarded kind of gets to me. I apologize if I've seemed rude to anyone.
  9. I didn't say the product lacked the ability to create a shine. I said it does not make my 2600 shiny since obviously it has a matte finish. It simply deepens the blacks of the plastic. You'd have to leave a massive coating of product for it to refract light. Perhaps I wash too much off for that. As I said multiple times, I use a damp microfiber cloth to clean after a small coat of aa. Once finished there's no greasy feel. If applied and abandoned in enough amount I have no doubt it would be greasy. I assumed no one did it that way for obvious reasons.
  10. A thin buffed and cleaned application of armor all is not going to magically seep it's way into one thing or another no more than rain outside is going to seep from the roof down to your basement. That's just silly. A proper application simply does not leave enough product on the console to contaminate anything. Has anyone used the Aerospace 303 stuff? http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?...;Product_ID=428 From an online search pretty much anyone who hates armor all absolutely loves this stuff. Can't really find anything bad about it.
  11. Unless of course you actually apply it correctly and remove all residue before you re-assemble the console. If you were to randomly pour a bottle of fluid all over the console then I could see this happening. A damp microfiber cloth removes all of the "grease" and leaves only a refreshed deeper black plastic. Maybe I'm the only person on Earth that does it this way. It's just hard for me to imagine other people leave a coating of it on there all thick and greasy.
  12. I really don't get some of these comments here. When exactly does Armor All on a 2600 shine or glow or glass anything? The 2600 isn't smooth plastic. It deepens the color for a couple of days but certainly does not make anything shine. And what's with all this greasy talk? Obviously you buff off the extra fluid as part of the application. I can't imagine someone heaping fluid all over the console and leaving it in a greasy state. You might as well say not to use soap to clean it because if you just leave it covered in suds to dry it leaves soap scum. I would trust people to use soap correctly and I hope you would assume Armor All would also be used in the proper way. I'm absolutely sure there's better products out there for plastic protection but to damn plastic protection en masse seems really short sighted, especially for collectors.
  13. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39728 It's not so much of a sore spot as an "inside joke"... but your topic will likely derail pretty quickly... I can't really see anything of merit in that thread personally. It's just a bunch of people acting like children. I see no logical points in there. Exactly... hence all the confusing and cryptic responses you've gotten. I don't really have an answer one way or another, but was just trying shed some light on the history of the subject... I appreciate your help. As collectors we really should have some concrete info. Ah well, I'm only two years younger than my 2600... Maybe I need some Armor All sprayed on me too. lol
  14. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39728 It's not so much of a sore spot as an "inside joke"... but your topic will likely derail pretty quickly... I literally just finished that thread when I saw your reply. It was a few pages deep in the search so I missed it. I can't really see anything of merit in that thread personally. It's just a bunch of people acting like children. I see no logical points in there. I cleaned up my new Heavy Sixer as below: -Took it apart. -Cleaned the boards with alcohol and q-tips. -Used soapy water and sponge on the outer shell. -Applied Armor All in a thin coat. -Rubbed plastic with a microfiber rag until there was no residue. I guess I don't see the issue. Sorry guys. Still new to the community here.
  15. Does it? On the back of the bottle I have here it says as a bullet point "CONTAINS NO ALCOHOL OR SOLVENTS".
  16. I did do a search but "armor" brought up tons of entries for games discussion and I didn't see any for this subject. Apologies if this is sore topic here. I'll search deeper.
  17. This may be a stupid question. I use Armor All on my consoles to bring them back to a shiny new look when cleaning. Is this bad?
  18. Why only 28.8? The Dreamcast was 56.6 unless you were lucky enough to have the BBA.
  19. I'd like to collect only games that are unique to the INTV. Things like AD&D and Utopia. Anyone have suggestions?
  20. Thanks! I'm really excited about getting into intellivision finally.
  21. I got my Dreamcast from NCS on the Japanese launch. It blew my mind. I still love it to this day. Never saw a game on the PS2 that impressed me like Shenmue did. I supported the PS2, just loved the DC more. My love for the DC sold me on the Xbox seeing how it was pretty much the Dreamcast 2.
  22. Did I do OK? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190296622286
  23. I like the 7800 a lot. It's fun to imagine what it could have done without a two year shelf life and with full developer support. That would have gave the Jaguar better legs to stand on as well. For what it's worth, it's good that at least Microsoft is in the game now so we have an American console. I have nothing against Japanese consoles mind you, it's just cool to have the USA in the running again.
  24. I think the heavy backs look so much cooler and more sleek than all others.
