Hi guys. I've been a long time Atari fan but I'm just now taking things a little more serious with my collecting. I was thinking about getting an s-video mod from Longhorn but I'm not sure what model to put it in. Do the 2600's vary wildly in video quality due to chipsets? I have: 1977 Heavy Six (just got on ebay) 1978 Light Six and a couple four switches.

Hi guys, I really want to get a Sunnyvale Heavy Sixer 2600. I'd love one in the best shape possible. I understand better hardware will require a little money to boot likely. I'm also interested in new official 3DO controllers. The Top Loader NES comes with a non dogbone controller and power cord. It's in very nice but not mint shape. The bottom sticker has a small amount of wear on it. (I'm very very picky to call something mint) Shoot me some msgs if you have anything cool.

I have all of them. I'm a huge SNK nut and collect AES and MVS as well. I have to disagree with NGBC though. I think it's pretty horrible. What I really want is games like Rage of the Dragons and Matrimelee to be properly released here. I hate having to use my home carts because they are worth a pretty penny now.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I may just use my Flashback 2 controller. My vintage 2600s don't need the stress.

I got a gorgeous condition 7800 off ebay. This thing still has the plastic film over the metal accents and everything! The controllers and console seem almost untouched... But wow do the joysticks click loud and fragile sounding. Is this normal? I know the 5200 is supposed to be really weak but I can't find about the 7800. And I assume the Flashback sticks are no good on a real console?

I enjoyed Frogger myself.

Technically they made them more sensitive. It worked for me! I'm happy now.

I played a good bit this week. I think the controls are pretty bad. The deadzone needs major work. Other than that it's really fun!

I'm glad others loved this as well. Dual Stick and Throttle Monkey is the way to play.

*UPDATE * File false Payal claims - get free Atari games!

I understand why this thread was made and I'm glad things worked out BUT as long as this thread exists, more people will see it, read it and may be stupid enough to start this scam. I didn't know it was this easy to do and I'm sure others are the same. I think the thread should be changed or deleted so it's not a "how to" guide for scumbags. -
Its 1993, you're in charge of the Jag, what do you do?

I would have done whatever was possible to launch with a version of Street Fighter II. An arcade perfect version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo would have went a long way in the market then. -
Thanks for the welcome! Helper is right though, it was a long time ago. They had around 50 new Jaguar systems for $35.00 piled in a pyramid with a huge rack of games behind them all priced at $4.99! I about fell over as I walked by the store in the mall.

Seems like most of you here believe that Flashback type units sold on nostalgia alone. (I have both myself) I wonder if a Jag unit would really be hurt by the fact that no one liked it in the 90’s. I would think it could sell on the merit of being 3D alone. I don't think many plug and play classic devices on the market can boast being 3D at the moment and most customers of such would not even remember the 90's. Pack Iron Soldier and Cybermorph in there so it's "3D" and then add in some Tempest 2K, Missile Command 3D and Defender to round it out. I guess with the state of Atari and the cost of Jag architecture, a "jagback" will never happen. It sure would be great if one did though. If I were to REALLY dream, I'd want it made like the Sega Playpal and include Battlesphere with ports for linked multiplayer with others. The flashback idea hit me when I was talking to a friend about AvP for the Jag. I believe that with the new movie and such, a developer could port the Jag AvP to the Nintendo DS and make a killing. AvP is one of my fave games and I'd love to see more people enjoy it. Just as a semi intro here: I got into Jag when the first "lost" sets were found in the old Atari storage and sold at KB Toys and Toy Liquidators. I got a brand new Jag for $35.00 and was thrilled. I'd always wanted one as a kid and had only rented one from a local video store. I got new copies of Zool, Iron Soldier, Club Drive, etc. I then went to the video store mentioned above and as strange as it seems, they were selling all of the Jaguar rental games at the same time. I got them all. I have around 20 games now although I don't get to play them much anymore.

I think it would be awesome to get one of the redesigned "Flashback" consoles based after the Jag. What do you guys think? Possible or not?
