  1. Okay I got some good news and some bad news. Bad new I tried it again on my 4 switch, it was the right version and it still jittered like hell. The good news is that I tried it on my 7800 and it worked great. No Jitter. So it may just be my 4 switch. I did try some other games and they seemed to work fine.

  2. Are you sure that's just not the standard flicker when two sprites are close by? I tested this a ton using the Stella debug command

breakif { _scan > $262 } and the break was only triggered when the player hit Select or Reset.

I played the game on my 4 switch, on my Harmony Cart. You're right, I'm not getting anything on Stella. I'll double check again tonight. I may have played an earlier version.

  3. Cool! I'll try it out on my Atari when I get home. You've worked really hard on your games and they get a lot of positive feed back. So it would be great to see them production ready.

  4. Update 9

    1. Spelled Isle correctly

    2. Increased the size of the archipelago from 1 screen to 25. The center 9 screen have islands, the outer 16 are open water. Guide the Floaty Fin to an edge of a screen to take him to an adjacent screen. Go beyond that, weird things happen.

    3. Added a knock back routine that will keep the Floaty Fin from getting stuck on an island.

There still isn't much to do, but I had to take care of some of these issues early.

  5. Since I can't Sleep I figured I'd post the early beginnings of my next game,

This game uses a variation on Bogax's movement code.

There is an over head map.You move the cursor to where you want the Floaty Fin to go and press the button and he will move there. Have the Floaty Fin touch an island and screen will change to a side view where you control the Gizzle Wap. If you want to go back to the map screen, have the Gizzle Wap move to the Floaty Fin on the left side of the screen.

The game is in a very early stage. You can't do too much.

The Floaty Fin is a cross between a dolphin and an AC73 racing yacht. And the Gizzle Wap is the Gizzle Wap.

  6. I'm sure this could be done with a flag and an if statement. Just make sure the flag is not cleared when the game is reset.

In Batari Basic, it might look something like this:

    If collision (player0,object1) then flag{0}=1

    If flag{0} then goto _hidden_level_loop

I do something like this in my game when you find the Easter Egg and when you beat the game.

  7. I agree with Beoran, there are some good games that were made with bB, so I would completely count it out.

The ones I can think of at the moment:

    Princess Rescue

    Zippy The Hedgehog

    Charge

    Flappy Bird

    Titan Axe

Gizzle Wap and the Strange Red Tree

    The Deep

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

  8. There was a picture of Titan Axe on twitter. But I can't seem to find it now. The best I could find is Gizzle Wap with Titan Axe card over the screen.

    Ah, found it.

  9. That would have been my feedback when I first played it yesterday (at home). :)

Yeah, that's what I usually hear. I actually slowed down the Crab from his original speed and he doesn't get any harder and the Ant, use the Zelda 2 strategy of jumping on him with your sword/Zazzle fly pointing down.

Thanks for trying out the game.
