I knew these girls in college who would get drunk/high and play Barbie on my Friend's Genesis system. What they did aftewards; no one was allowed know.

I actually beat Solaris on the VCS. I have only done it once and have yet to do it again. What helped me beat it was using the rack that came with Spy Hunter that lets you use both buttons, a rapid fire device and a Boss Joystick. (boss joysticks can be turned upside down, this allows you to fly normally through a red zone) The sector just above Solaris sector is a red zone. The ending is pretty tame. You land on the planet and the sky flashes. But what do you expect from the Atari. This by far is one of my all time favorite games.

M*A*S*H is more fun if you play with another person. By itself it isn't that challenging or exciting.

Chuck Norris/Artillery Duel --->The best cart I ever had
Mountain King replied to SlimJim26's topic in Atari 2600
Artillery Duel for the 5200? What game was that? -
I've played the game long enough to where the ninjas just stop coming. As far as I know there is no "ending" Time just runs out. And I didn't think the game was that crappy. I rather liked it.

Thats a good point: Once you beat a game, how often do you pick it up and play it again? I had the same discussion with my girlfriend's younger brother who was all happy after beating some arcade game. He'll probably never go into the arcade and play that again let alone half the N64 games he has beaten. Now if I saw a Burger Time in an arcade, hell yeah I'd play it again and of course I still play my Atari. Atari as well as most of the old school games are always fun and they let you use your imagination.

One of my Best friends growing up said this was his favorite game too. I personally enjoy all the Xonox titles. They're very good games. Since you like Artillery Dual you might be interested in the home brew game Incoming thats currently in the works. I'm hoping its like Howitzer or Scorched Earth.

I wonder if Moon sweeper and Solaris have similar code. They both have similar effects.

That sounds a lot like Moonsweeper by Imagic Although the men aren't really falling

Heck it took me long enough to get Motorcross racer and Tomarc by themselves let alone boxed.

quote I think its called the Super Flea now. Yeah but that woman's pretty evil. She does have some good stuff. I got a lot of good games from her before she realized what she had and jacked up all her prices. You still can talk her down if you are repectful. My girlfriend hated her and how she would treat other people. But she loved me since I was always there buying Atari games. -
This game took me a while to find for some reason. I didn't think it was that rare. It was the last game I found in the wild, the cool part is that the guy let me have it for free.

Welcome aboard. Where in Pittsburgh are you from? I lived in Pittsburgh for about 5 years. There are some great flea markets that I miss. Anyway, sega controllers do work in the Atari, but the buttons are reversed in other words they don't register until you release the button. So you would have to modify them to register when you press down instead. My thinking is: why bother, joysticks work just as good. -
A friend of mine stumbled across this while she was doing "research." http://www.boardsmag.com/screeningroom/musicvideos/2/

I'm in denial.

I've always wondered what that game was called. I saw it once at in the Sears Arcade when I was little and didn't have any money to play it. I never saw it again anywhere. Until I played Universal Chaos. And as I can remember its almost exactly the same. Thanks.

You want my half melted Krull that looks like it was set onfire?

I bought mine in the store. But it was one of those games I was really satisfied with. Thats the one thing about Atari games when you bought them new, long ago. You ran that risk that you would be disappointed by them. Games I've been reaaly satisified with: Pressure Cooker Jr. Pac Man Solaris Midnight Magic Masters of the Universe the Power of He-Man Spacemaster X-7 Star Trek California Games Some of these games were like $30 when they came out, so you want your money's worth.

My girlfriend knows how much I love Atari and she has gotten me games. But My collections to the point where she doesn't know what I have and what I don't have. My two other "girlfriends" get me games also. They get me stuff all the time.
-
Heh, I found that out a long time ago too. My first Atari was a reconditioned model as well at the controllers, so needless to say everything was weird. My Atari would also "fry" on its own. So my friends came over with their games just to see what my Atari would do to them.

Speaking of which, if Secret Quest was the last game Atari produced for the 2600, it has the copyright date of 1989 then why does Sentinel have the copyright date of 1990?
-
The first burgertime has Shill Bidder written all over it. I've caught a couple doing that with their own items.
-
When I bought it long ago, even people who played Atari Back then were surprised I had it.
