t's a good question. Usefulness would depend entirely upon the availability of productivity applications (text editors, drawing app, etc), and since BASIC and other high-level languages are no use whatsoever for writing then, they'd either have to be written by me or someone else capable of authoring complex relocatable assembly language programs.

Probably not (easily) possible, but it would be interesting if existing GEOS applications could be ported to use GUI, instead of writing them from scratch :)

never was going to develop Wolfenstein 3D, as people had wanted or thought.

I've never thought about fully-blown Wolfenstein 3D clone on A8. But simple escape-the-maze type of game based on this would be possible and fun. Just some more levels and few ideas to make the gameplay of reaching the exit more attractive (hidden places, points).

I will say one thing - every time I go to VCFMW festival, the GUI gets major "holy shits".  I'm going again this year, and will definitely have it on display.

Yeah, I used to do this with Project M and IK+ as well... Sad side is all those are just a demos after decade(s), but they show A8 powers as only few do.

  4. It must be something in the forum engine: indeed the file can be downloaded from the original message, but can't be downloaded from attachments-list (not with 'save as', not with simple click - in the end it's forum that says it can't be located ;) ).

B.Engl at one point gave all his rights (Turbo Freezer, Turbo 1050) to ABBUC and thats where Juergen/tf_hh stepped in and did some remakes of the Turbo 1050, so yes, they are the same. Do not know however if the Turbo 1050E by Lotharek is also the same,

From what I've read at the time it appeared, it's not the same, but a new project developed by Candle. It's quite similiar to Turbo 1050 with its limited functionality (e.g. no track buffering) and nothing very interesting ;)

    More details (in Polish though):

I have seen this before on different model TVs where the S video Via Scart can bleed like that.

You could try and play with your Colour, Contrast and Brightness settings, that may bring it back in.

Not a chance TV settings can cure picture flawed like this, there's no point to suffer with it, since composite is perfect (as for composite). Sony KV-14T1K simply does not deliver the S-Video goods via SCART, I'm afraid.

That reminded me of the sprites I have designed about a year ago for an 7800 (probably abandoned) re-imagining of the game..

In case you are thinking about a "deluxe" version later on with alternate sprites, you can take a look in the page below:

The passenger and TAXI look awesome. Especially TAXI would be a big improvement towards original.

Maybe Space TAXI Redux will happen one day? 🤞
