never was going to develop Wolfenstein 3D, as people had wanted or thought.
I've never thought about fully-blown Wolfenstein 3D clone on A8. But simple escape-the-maze type of game based on this would be possible and fun. Just some more levels and few ideas to make the gameplay of reaching the exit more attractive (hidden places, points).

I will say one thing - every time I go to VCFMW festival, the GUI gets major "holy shits". I'm going again this year, and will definitely have it on display.
Yeah, I used to do this with Project M and IK+ as well... Sad side is all those are just a demos after decade(s), but they show A8 powers as only few do.

It must be something in the forum engine: indeed the file can be downloaded from the original message, but can't be downloaded from attachments-list (not with 'save as', not with simple click - in the end it's forum that says it can't be located ).

Any update on above, please? Where can it be downloaded from? Thanks in advance

Somehow the latest RC1 file can't be downloaded?

B.Engl at one point gave all his rights (Turbo Freezer, Turbo 1050) to ABBUC and thats where Juergen/tf_hh stepped in and did some remakes of the Turbo 1050, so yes, they are the same. Do not know however if the Turbo 1050E by Lotharek is also the same,
From what I've read at the time it appeared, it's not the same, but a new project developed by Candle. It's quite similiar to Turbo 1050 with its limited functionality (e.g. no track buffering) and nothing very interesting
More details (in Polish though):

First things first I guess - Flimbo's Quest. And we're still waiting for that hit

Equivalent in being a polished technical showpiece with tons of gameplay depth and content. Being the same type of game is irrelevant.
I see, so we already have many of such "equivalents". Lucky us!

In my opinion, an equivalent to Sam's Journey would have to be something original that maximizes the A8's strengths (and doesn't need to be a platformer).
So equivalent or not? Not platformer but equivalent got me lost

Hmmm... I hope he's alright, just busy with other things?

Yes, that's exactly the case, I just wanted to experiment with S-Video via SCART (to have zero artifacts), but it's not critical to have it, since composite (Atari) / RGB (Amiga) are looking just great on it.
-
I did and it was exactly same mess After that I decided to solder Atari S-Video -> SCART cable myself, according to this thread.

I have seen this before on different model TVs where the S video Via Scart can bleed like that.
You could try and play with your Colour, Contrast and Brightness settings, that may bring it back in.
Not a chance TV settings can cure picture flawed like this, there's no point to suffer with it, since composite is perfect (as for composite). Sony KV-14T1K simply does not deliver the S-Video goods via SCART, I'm afraid.
-
Not on the cable 😉 Maybe Sony kv-14t1k just does not support S-Video on SCART.

I'd love to see it ending up with 128KB finished raycaster game one day (more advanced engine than FA). Is there a chance for that please, @globe?

Out of curiosity, the last version of OS X that supported PPC was 10.6, and that was well over a decade ago. Why are you looking at it as a target?
Because of MorphOS, I own PowerBook G4, on which I have MacOS X PPC 10.5.8. installed as well.
In general, our hobby is related to decades-old hardware

Sounds like a really useful tool, would it work on MacOS X PPC?
A little off-topic:
does anyone know a program for ATR-manipulation for AmigaOS or MorphOS? It would be great to have a MakeATR (Windows) counterpart, there -

That reminded me of the sprites I have designed about a year ago for an 7800 (probably abandoned) re-imagining of the game..
In case you are thinking about a "deluxe" version later on with alternate sprites, you can take a look in the page below:

The passenger and TAXI look awesome. Especially TAXI would be a big improvement towards original.
Maybe Space TAXI Redux will happen one day? 🤞

No Guys, they are both nice games, but far from what I've described
Warrior 3000 is the closest so far.
New GUI for the Atari 8-bit
in Atari 8-Bit Computers

Probably not (easily) possible, but it would be interesting if existing GEOS applications could be ported to use GUI, instead of writing them from scratch
