    I missed having a cat to come home to so I picked up Annie from the shelter tonight: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/21950670 She's 2 but has been living there her whole life. She doesn't seem to have developed her jumping muscles from living in the cage.

      Nice! We picked up our cat Roxy two years ago from a local shelter. She was about 6 months old when we got her. Shelter animals make the best pets.

    Great. I just found a scorpion (of the "southern unstriped" variety) wandering around in my room. I guess I was done with sleeping peacefully tonight anyway.

      I use to get scorpions in my apartment once in a while when I lived in Pheonix. A home remedy, that I was always told by several people, to prevent them is to spinkle borax powder (the laundry soap/booster) around the building every few months. Apparently they don't like the borax and won't cross it.

    It will be so nice to actually be a productive member of society again. I start a new job in the new year. I'll be teaching at Baker College's Transportation Technology Center in Flint, MI in their Small Engine and Powersports program.

    Anybody else get this freezing rain today? It slicked up the streets over night and someone slid off and took out our mailbox. Now we're getting more of it tonight. :(

      Got a little bit of ice over night not too bad, but our county is in the strike zone for a bad ice storm tonight. 1/4-1/2 an inch of ice possible followed by gusty winds. Wish me luck on keeping power and phone/internet service.
