Not many people go with this one, but I say Outlaw for a good 2 player versus mode. With options like moving stage coach, trying to shoot around around the catus, etc. It's a party favorite in the making.

We had a big console Zenith that we hooked up to the 2600, and for a short while the Tandy Color Computer II. Then my older brother (who owned the Coco 2) got a 13 inch color set from Radio Shack so he could have a dedicated tv for the computer and Atari. We later got an NES and hooked it up to the big Zenith. In high school I got a little 4 1/2 inch Radio Shack b/w portable tv for Christmas that I later hooked up the nes to while I was in college.
I believe our Zenith was this one

I couldn't find a useable image of the 13 inch tv, but here is a pic of my 4 1/2 as I still have this one in my posession.

However, in the time it took Wonder to type up those two sentences, he could've taken a couple extra minutes to explain what he knows. We're asking him to spill the beans not paint the Mona Lisa.
Instead of quoting Cebus, I will just say "BE PATIENT!". For all we know Wonder could have piles of documents from the company to read through or hours of recorded interveiws with former employees and company owners to reveiw before he writes up his report on what he found out. So give the poor guy a break.

Mine would be:
Video Pinball
Centipede
Circus Atari

My kids love Grand Prix. Me not so much. Indy 500 is one of my faves, but I have a hard time getting someone to play it with me. I also like Enduro for the graphics and gameplay. Pole Position is ok and get occasional play time. Night driver holds a lot of fun memories for me so I still play it a lot. Memories like my two brothers and I taking turns driving while the other two would line up behind in chairs and pretend we were riding a bus and react to all the curves and crashes by leaning side to side or falling out of our seats all the while hollering "whoooooa" or "aaaaah!!!" and laughing until it hurt.

For me it's the thrill of the hunt and thrill of the bargain. I have been to a few used game stores that knew what they had and priced their games accordingly, not crazy high, but fairly priced. I did not buy much, if anything from them. To me it's about finding an R4 or higher for a few bucks or less at a thrift or used game store that gets me my collecting fix. Sure for a price one could complete or near complete (if some games are uber rare) a collection for most any system, but to me flashing that much cash just to complete something isn't as thrilling. It's almost like paying someone to put together a 1000 piece puzzle and saying "Look at the this complete puzzle I now own". Now I know some games can't be had with out some serious greenbacks due to rarity but a guy can still dream of finding an Air Raid for $.99 at the local Goodwill.
-
I don't have Pics (my wife has the camera and isn't home right now), but I hit up a few thrifts and score a couple of goodies. At the Goodwill I got an original grey Playstation console with no cables or controllers for $1.99. I already have one but couldn't pass it up. I hooked it up and it works like a champ. At the Volunteers of America thrift I cought their half off everything Tuesday sale and got a Wii Udraw tablet for $1.50. Now I just need to find the game.
-
That happens at my local Goodwill, They have 4 Playstations like $25
I glanced at your comment too quick and thought for a moment it said "What happens at my Goodwill...". Then I was expecting it to finnish with "stays at my Goodwill", but it didn't.

So if I understand this correctly, there is NOT a large stash of E.T. carts in Alamogordo. If so, then where are all these supposed unsold and returned E.T. games?
-
So, you just need a couple of these? I probably have a couple I can give you (for the price of shipping, which should be cheap) from dead systems. You need the cables that have the same connector on both ends, right?
Yep, same on both ends. Like the standard 2600, Intely, OD2, etc. cables.
-
You can use any regular coax cable with one of these on the Atari side. Also, a ferrite bead helps a lot.
That's a nice option, but I was hoping for something closer to the original. Some of the consoles have it plugged in/wired internaly and I didn't want to mod the cases to make a larger cable fit.
-
I have a couple of dead and soon to be repaired systems that take RF cables with the RCA type ends and most have a damaged or missing cable. So I was wondering where I might find a replacement on the cheap. I tried the local Radio Shack and all they had that was remotely close, cost more than I paid for some of the systems. Anybody make their own from bulk cable or find a source for cheaper pre-made cables?
-
I already tried the reset button, but I haven't had a chance to mess with it since you guys gave me some good suggestions. I have some spare time right now though, so wish me luck. Also I did pull the sheilding off from the big board and yes it was a pain. As for the ribbon cable, how hard is it to find a replacement if that is bad?
-
Since you are new to intellivision here is the first thing to try. Inty games dont work pushed all the way in on half the systems. Thats why the carts have an insert to here line on them. Fiddle around with the carts pulling them out a little at a time and keep testing for a sweet spot. Try that first
Thanks I'll give it a try.

I recently joined the Intellivision club with a console and 15 common cartriges. The problem is when I power it up with any game I get a blank black screen. I cleaned the games and cartrige slot with no better results. I peeled it open already to look for any obvious issues, like burnt/damaged components, corrosion, bad solder joints, etc. Are there any common fixes for this or is there service manual scans for it online somewhere? Any help is apreciated.
-
Scored an Intellivision with 15 common carts for $20 at a local thrift. Only thing is I get a blank black screen even after cleaning the carts and cartrige slot. I would post pics, but it's spit open at the moment while i check some of the connections, solder joints and components for anything obvious. So far nothing yet though.

That Computerized Arcade is mighty sexy.
How sexy? I'm thinking of unloading it. I don't need it but I couldn't pass it up at that price. PM if interested.
-
Had a nice score the other day. During a random trip to one of the local thrifts I lucked out on 50% off entire store day and walked out with a Radio Shack Tandy-12 Computerized Arcade, and Cyber Tiger & Test Drive 4 for PS1 all for $2.50. Then I got Pro Pinball for $1.99 down the street at another thrift.

My auctions have ended. Thanks for viewing.

Also picked up The Hobbit DVD/Blu Ray pack w/the Art Book, but that was retail...

Whoa, easy there buddy. That kind of talk isn't allowed in this thread.

I've only seen this a few time with gaming stuff, but I see it all the time with the rubbery plastic fishing lures like worms, minnows, etc. They often react to certain plastics and lead to a shift in the type of plastic they used for most tackle boxes many years ago. I remember as a kid even, seeing labels on new boxes that said made with worm safe plastic.

Wow! I am really loving this thread. I don't own a Studio II, and probably never will as I have a hard enough time collecting for the consoles that I do have, but the history and insider info is just way to cool. Thanks Fauxscot for sharing your memories and knowledge.

This sums it up for me. If I don't collect for that system I look to see if I can flip it for a few bucks.
