  1. Yep, same on both ends. Like the standard 2600, Intely, OD2, etc. cables.
  2. That's a nice option, but I was hoping for something closer to the original. Some of the consoles have it plugged in/wired internaly and I didn't want to mod the cases to make a larger cable fit.
  3. I have a couple of dead and soon to be repaired systems that take RF cables with the RCA type ends and most have a damaged or missing cable. So I was wondering where I might find a replacement on the cheap. I tried the local Radio Shack and all they had that was remotely close, cost more than I paid for some of the systems. Anybody make their own from bulk cable or find a source for cheaper pre-made cables?
  4. I already tried the reset button, but I haven't had a chance to mess with it since you guys gave me some good suggestions. I have some spare time right now though, so wish me luck. Also I did pull the sheilding off from the big board and yes it was a pain. As for the ribbon cable, how hard is it to find a replacement if that is bad?
  5. Tater tots! That is all for now.

  6. I recently joined the Intellivision club with a console and 15 common cartriges. The problem is when I power it up with any game I get a blank black screen. I cleaned the games and cartrige slot with no better results. I peeled it open already to look for any obvious issues, like burnt/damaged components, corrosion, bad solder joints, etc. Are there any common fixes for this or is there service manual scans for it online somewhere? Any help is apreciated.
  7. Scored an Intellivision with 15 common carts for $20 at a local thrift. Only thing is I get a blank black screen even after cleaning the carts and cartrige slot. I would post pics, but it's spit open at the moment while i check some of the connections, solder joints and components for anything obvious. So far nothing yet though.
  8. How sexy? I'm thinking of unloading it. I don't need it but I couldn't pass it up at that price. PM if interested.
  9. Had a nice score the other day. During a random trip to one of the local thrifts I lucked out on 50% off entire store day and walked out with a Radio Shack Tandy-12 Computerized Arcade, and Cyber Tiger & Test Drive 4 for PS1 all for $2.50. Then I got Pro Pinball for $1.99 down the street at another thrift.

  11. My auctions have ended. Thanks for viewing.
  12. I found this wierd 2600 game at a thrift yesterday. The label says "Jack be Nimble by Menavision" and has a picture of a guy jumping a series of candles. I haven't tested it yet but the contacts look really clean.

  13. Saw a sign posted on the door of a local restaurant that read - Sorry we are closed, for good #done #sad/sweet. I walked away bummed that they were closed and shaking my head asking "Why TWITTER! Why!" This whole hash tag thing is anoying.

I always thought it stood for lbs. I do not know what a hash tag is and I will be happy to go through life without ever knowing.

  17. I've only seen this a few time with gaming stuff, but I see it all the time with the rubbery plastic fishing lures like worms, minnows, etc. They often react to certain plastics and lead to a shift in the type of plastic they used for most tackle boxes many years ago. I remember as a kid even, seeing labels on new boxes that said made with worm safe plastic.
  18. Wow! I am really loving this thread. I don't own a Studio II, and probably never will as I have a hard enough time collecting for the consoles that I do have, but the history and insider info is just way to cool. Thanks Fauxscot for sharing your memories and knowledge.

  20. Goodness! This brings back a ton of memories. I had both Skate or Die 1 and 2, as well as 720 Degrees. I was a big time skater back in the day, so these were right up my alley and I played the snot out of them. 720 and S.O.D, 1 are the better of the three from a purely skateboarding perspective, but S.O.D. 2 was interesting on its own with the adventure mode. Although I never could get past the warehouse maze that was level four. I also remember grossing out my buddies little sister when crashing just right on the middle ramp in half pipe mode on S.O.D. 2 where it split the skater dude in half.
  21. Saw Wreck It Ralph for the first time this weekend with the family. I give it two thumbs up.

It was okay. Problem is most of the visual jokes will go over the heads of anyone under the age of 35. 10 year daughter got bored with it.

  22. Well, I haven't thrown in the towel just yet as hit up the few local thrifts in town this morning and as luck would have it, I found something good and at a good price too. It wasn't retro, but was still gaming related. At the Salvation army I came across two Wii controllers new in the box (damaged packaging merchandise from big box stores) for $9.95 each and a Wii nunchuck for $7.45. Now my kids won't complain about having to share Wii motes when they play bowling with the neighbor girl.
  23. Haven't You guys heard? There is a cardboard shortage going on in some parts of the country. The seller probably had no alternative.
