This game is truly exceptional! The title screen is amazing. I have never seen graphics that detailed and polished on a 2600 before. The music is exceptional. It sounds like the arcade! ... and the game play is exceptional. The multiple colors per line is amazing kernal code. ... and the animation for clearing the row is cool. All round, this raises the bar for homebrews! P.S. The guy playing it in the demo is really good!

Hey all, I'm putting together a little Pong tournament for my computer science students. They will participate to get extra credit - with the winner getting nice credit prize. Anyway, I want to add some background music - mainly for ambiance - not loud enough to drown out the beeps from the old machine. So, what songs would be best? I'm doing it relating to computer history. I've chosen some late 70's songs such as: B52's - Rock Lobster (1979).mp3 Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (1977).mp3 Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing (1976).mp3 Heart - Baracuda (1977).mp3 KC and The Sunshine Band - Thats The Way (1975).mp3 KISS - Rock And Roll All Nite (1975).mp3 Lipps Inc. - Funky Town (1980).mp3 Rose Royce - Car Wash (1976).mp3 The Trammps - Disco Inferno (1976).mp3 Walter Murphy & The Big Apple Band - A Fifth Of Beethovan (1976).mp3 Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music (1976).mp3 Aerosmith - Walk This Way (1975).mp3 Should I remove any of these? Add others?

Why would you want unlimited lives on Go Fish? It is one of the best homebrews. How many fun video games are relaxing? One life is more than enough.

This might be a silly question, but how are you hooking up to the T.V.? Are you using a switchbox or a RCA to coaxial converter? Why I ask, is that the old systems send out radio signals over the wire - which is not the same as the A/V cables that people use to hook up DVDs. Plugging the Pong into the yellow video port, will yield nothing.

Are you getting and sound from the console?

I saw the following auction on eBay for the Odyssey 3000. Its one of the final pongs put out by Magnavox. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 330547017994 Anyway, the console is black with red and yellow stripes. To me, it looks a lot like the sentries and Clu from TRON Legacy. If anyone is a big fan of the film, they might get a kick out of this auction.

Thanks Nathan. Your review was pretty middle of the road - not the best emulator, but a good implementation.

Bump! (since this so epic)

The controllers look like the are the predecessor to the 2600 versions. I found a rather nightmarish site on the Internet where the guy literally takes the controller completely apart. I dread the idea that is the only solution.

Hey all, I just bought a "new" old Pong Console - Sears Telegames Super Pong IV 99789. Anyway, some of the controllers have the dreaded "jigglies". What is the best solution to fixing them? I, assume, that I just keep moving them (upside down) to get the crud off the contacts. Of course, this what I remember from back in the day. It might not be the ideal solution. But, thankfully, I have this great community! Hopefully someone here will have some better techinques. Anyway, I would appreciate any and all feedback/help.

Nice. I can't wait til it arrives. Hopefully, it is tip-top shape and is usable in the Pong Tournament.

The forum software is working great! I am definitely enjoying the new features and enhancements. I look forward to the return of the classic AA look. But, please, don't feel rushed by anyone.

Damn. I missed this. Congrats Koala. -
I have heard of it, but I am curious, how easy is it? Batari Basic is the way to go if you have never programmed assembly before. The Atari is shocking lacking memory and graphics capabilities. Assembly is truly a fun (and painful challenge). Batari Basic makes the task pretty easy - and unlocks most of the system's power for you.

Nice! So, how is the 4-player mode? I'm looking to put together a Pong tournament - 2 vs 2.

Another good hack might be Adventures of TRON. Make Tron look like Batman, and change the enemies to the thugs.

I've been looking to get myself a classic Pong console - one of the ones that has 4 players. I am looking at this one on e-bay, but the model seems odd - I can't find any info on it. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 170612542232 Is this one any good? Is this one in color?

I can't agree more. This game really is a new genre for the Atari 2600.

Wow. Business is going great for Albert! Actually, too great... he can't keep up!

Excellent work. The graphics look great. I feel dirty now.

Neat! How do you play?
