Breaking NEWS: Classic Gaming Expo 2K12
captcapcom replied to captcapcom's topic in Classic Console Discussion
hahaha... I was so excited when I read the Expo was returning, I failed to proofread anything. Plus I am also an idiot. -
This is from the Classic Gaming Expo Facebook: YOU WERE THERE FIRST. Not enough time to get this to all of our outlets or properly document it on our website, so those of you here get to hear it first: Classic Gaming Expo 2K12 is ON, it's August 11th and 12th in Las Vegas at our old stomping grounds, The Plaza Hotel. The Plaza has completely renovated everything from its rooms and casinos to the ballroom itself. We loved it, can't wait to do this again! More details to follow. I did not see a post about it on the forums, so I took the Liberty to let everyone know CGE2K11 IS ON!!!!! Let's make this one the BIGGEST one Ever!!!!!

My Retron 3 no longer plays Sega Genesis without flickering colors and going bananas. I think I should try a FC3.

Random Question about Mortal Kombat for Sega CD
captcapcom replied to captcapcom's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I just tried an ISO of MKCD with Gens. I set the SCD Bios to 1.00, and I recreated the same problem I had before. It freezes on the Sega Logo and after about 10 minutes it starts playing some of the Music Tracks. When I changed Bios it worked fine. I guess my actual Sega CD (which I no longer have) was a 1.00. -

I have the M Network He Man game... and when I play it on the 7800, I cannot start the game at all. No matter what button I press. also... aren't these just Intelevision carts with an adapter plugged into the bottom? Sure looks that way.

I was reminiscing about the Sega CD with a friend yesterday and we both remembered Mortal Kombat CD and it NOT playing in any Front Loader Sega CD System. We remembered trying it on 2 different systems and even returning it to the store about 3 times and it still not working right. It only played when my friend got a Genesis 2 and Side CD Add on. Anyone else remember this, I can't find anyone else on the net that had this issue. Was it a known problem?

Help with Skill Screen and controllers
captcapcom replied to captcapcom's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I apologize for Double Posting. But I had a stroke of luck today. I was able to trade in my older CV for a refurbished one, with rebuilt controllers. Everything is working great now! Same dealer as before, he's been looking for a replacement since I first reported issues, and today called me to let me know he scored one! Still have no color with the Expansion Module #1... but its ok cause I also have a 7800, so this is just cool to have one! -
Help with Skill Screen and controllers
captcapcom replied to captcapcom's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Thanks for the help guys. Here's an update. After some light cleaning, I managed to get one controller working better. I can also make the skill screen stay on if I hold down the star key on the keypad. It still skips the skill screen with no controller plugged in, but this system is in almost pristine condition, so I guess it is an age thing... maybe it's just wearing out. All the games I've played work fantastically! Even "It's only Rock and Roll"... which the dealer threw in for free when I bought this set. Spoke to the dealer yesterday (he asked how it was working) and I told him of my minor issues. He's got some more parts coming in this weekend and he's getting me some newer controllers. He may even have another system that might work better, but he doesn't know for sure. I knew I could come here for help! Thanks again Everyone! --Capt -
I recently picked up a Colecovision from a reputable dealer in town. I never owned a Colecovision before and my only experience with this system is at a friends house YEARS AGO and KOLEKO on the Original Xbox, so if I seem a bit confused please excuse my lack of knowledge. The system came with 2 controllers. One has a stick that only functions sometimes, and the other has buttons that don't work. So, for some games I've been using a Master System Controller and on some I use an Atari 7800 stick. They seem to do the trick, but I really want to use the stock controllers (For pure nostalgia) are they easy to fix? OK now on the larger issues: With KOLEKO, say I am playing my Donkey Kong ROM... there is a Blue skill screen that comes up before the games starts. I usually hit the button I mapped (1,2,3, or 4) and play, but with the actual system, the skill screen flashes for a brief second and the game starts... it happens no matter which controller I use. what could cause this? and can I fix it? Second, I also got the Expansion Module #1 with this purchase, and it doesn't seem to fit well into the expansion bay. I got it to play a few 2600 games, but only in Black and White (the switch is set to color) ... but most of the time it doesn't work at all. the module should fit in flush, right? Mine seems to not be in all the way. My friend thinks there was originally a latch of some kind that is now missing. anyway sorry for rambling, hope you guys can help me out to make my Colecovision better! --capt.

I've purchased 2 different copies of Mario Bros. for the 7800 and BOTH of them are shot. Sometimes I get a white screen, other times black, and sometimes the Atari behaves like there is no cart in there. I've cleaned them both thoroughly. Could I possibly have 2 carts from a different region? All my other games play fine, and I can see nothing wrong with either cart. (I've opened both) are there methods to fix these carts? I'm pretty good with electronics, but I can't see anything out of place on the chips.

Halloween demo cart stolen from AA at CGE 2010!
captcapcom replied to GroovyBee's topic in Atari 7800
I was very scared of this happening, with all the carts just laying out. I knew someone would snatch one up. I felt funny changing the carts in the systems by myself. I Think I saw that guy at the Specialty Gamer Table... But can't be sure. -
The Pinball hall of Fame is great. Tim just put in a PERFECT Condition "Turkey Shoot" Arcade game, complete with feathers!!!
