It has been great having someone push me to:
- improve my product from the abbuc version v1
- make these available
- make labels
- a manual
- design a box
- arrange for construction
- flash them!
- ship them out
- handle customer relations, support them etc etc.
Lets all give a big hand to @Duddie.
I'm now leaning towards opening all the design files, once the current vendors sell their existing stock. To be confirmed.
I would like to see the design files opened. I think that would be the best thing to do for the Atari community.

Maybe you should speak with @Duddie about this? He produces the Pokeymax and it seems that you are already leveraged some of @foft design the build Antic FPGA. So it may be just a matter of programming the existing Pokeymax FPGA’s hardware with Antic code? (Of course there may be licensing issues. For the hardware use. Just speaking from a technical level)
I vote no on getting duddie to do this. he will want the pokey, antic, gtia core code to be private. that is against the author's intent as stated in the first post in this topic.

the resistor on the right is 22 ohms, not 220. I also think the resistor just to right of transistor is 1.2K ohm. the others look correct. that is all according to my very old eyes. thanks.

XE slant face plate. But not big enough for full sized cards...
Whatever happened to $40.00 cases with all the trimmings?
that one will probably be extinct in 2 weeks. like so much in the pc industry. it aint broke so let's fix it anyway!

The E: handler is built into the video card. That is the atari spec. Could always load another from disk or cart but that defeats the purpose.

I am trying to get an enclosure figured out that won't break the bank. It is not an easy task though. thanks for everyone's patience in this matter!

nice showing. really nice photos. I see the 1090XL remake with a card plugged in. I would have hoped to see an original 1090XL tho but, oh well. maybe next year. I would have liked to attended this year but had other obligations.
anyway, lots of nice vintage computers!

I am gathering an 800XL complete in box.
It came with the computer, power supply, CA010112 rf switch box, owner's guide, and rf cable with the box in-line. What else was in the box?
Catalog, warranty card?
mine had a real basic Basic manual that was quite thin. and a warranty card. this is in addition to what you listed.

hi mytek and Mathy,
there is no problem with your ideas or comments. they are all welcome. future mods or enhancements come from new and fresh ideas. and I even have done some of mytek's projects. all cool
thanks for the comments.

when Curt and I started this, it was to be a reproduction of the 1090XL expansion box, nothing more and nothing less. it is an open design and others can update it as they like but, when finished (if ever) then this will be a 1090XL expansion box as Atari was going to release (though they never did).
as I said though, this is an open design. Schematics and even the board layout gerbers are on github at https://github.com/kenames99 and anyone is free to do their own mods and produce that if they so choose too.
reifsnyderb did do a necessary update/modification to the main schematic to fully support the 130XE computers. it is completely compatible with the original design and intent. I just have not put that in the github yet. (sorry reifsnyderb).

Freaking awesome! but you didn't show up the actual hardware.

hi,
I have spent a few hours working on the 1090XL and the 80 column video card and RealDOS. the reults are a fully working video 80 column output, even in basic. the photo is done with RealDOS ver. 1.0 Build 33, and reifsnyderb's newest OS rom (6.2 early beta). the stock os rom has a bug that sets the 80 column back to 40. even tho this is now complete, that OS bug is a problem for people that do not want to change their hardware. the os bug happens only with some print routines used thruout RealDOS and it's support files but this is still not the way I want thing to work. I will be sorting thru RealDOS and all the support fil;es to fix this as soon as I can. I should also mention that one of the SDX update project's members has a SDX driver for the 80 CVC also. this is also good news to hear. I would also like to thank phaeron for all his work with Altirra and the debugger in it that made my life so much easier.
I will be releasing the files to run this soon. all are considered beta at this time.

here is a build that should work for you. but yea, I forgot about the ape clock in the IDE+ too. thanks for the reminder drac030
-
this version has all the drivers built in for most clock setups including Ape.so it should get the correct time and put it in the right spots in dos. it is quite a lot newer then most tdline files out there.

I am using APETIME.COM on an 800XL to get the date/time from my PC running APE. I know it is working because the date is correct but the time is exactly 45 minutes fast on the XL vs the PC. The PC has the correct time. The XL time is 45 minutes in the future... Time travel here at the Boot Factory BBS.
This is SpartaDOS 3.2G running on a Rambo 800XL w/256k, Brian's old video mod and the AtariMax 32n1 OS. I'm using the stock 800XL OS rev C (w/reverse Basic) but I have tried several other stock XL OSes. Ape is registered v3.0.13.
Has anyone ever seen this behavior? (I have not).
(I am posting this here because I am locked out of the AtariMax website for some unknown reason)
hi bf2k,
try the tdline2 I have attached. let me know if it works for you.
