  1. awesome ijor, I would love to see this marketed when this chip shortage finally ends. Ken
  2. I would just want the self test to do what the original does. base 64K memory, keyboard, and music thing. those passing should allow the computer to boot. anything beyond that should be the domain of other hardware test programs, cuz, at this point the system is running and able to load those other programs. Ken my $0.02
  3. that all looks really great. I may be in for a transparent case. awesome! ken
  4. Really cool Stephen! I will post a photo of mine when finally in permanent 130XE. Nice white keys in mine. Except the function keys, they are grey like yours.
  5. or you could use one of mytek's keyboard adapters. Transkey II with a ps2 kbd.
  6. I tried to install into 1 of my 130XE computers but had a bad connector on the motherboard. I put it into another 130XE and it worked perfectly and looks a dream! thank you ScreamingAtTheRadio. Ken
  7. very sad. I will miss him. he was a good friend. RIP Stephen.
  8. the N: handler is not built in to any version of DOS be it spartados, realdos, SDX, etc. afaik it is a handler that is loaded at boot or when the driver com file is loaded. Ken
  9. I would have thought Gustafson would have known that but, oh well. I say good fix drac030.
  10. No problem if it covers the bases and is smaller too. Works for me. Ken
  11. I have >15 Atari computers and all but 2 have bad keyboards, including 2 800 that both have bad keyboards but those stick, not fail to make contact like the membrane ones.I also like when the mem test comes up and reports bad memoy. so, yes, our experience differs although I would rather have not had keyboard problems at all. Ken
  12. this area of the OS is not well suited for drivers but not impossible. I would not like to see any drivers there.
  13. I think the keyboard test at least should be included in the OS, I am also in favor of a resident memory tester for at least the base 64K. bad keys make it hard to load other programs, so does bad memory. machine code monitor only useful to programmers. assembly programmers anyway. Ken
  14. well crap! sorry to hear. nothing can be done to fix them? a small 3d printed shim or wedge? Ken
  15. well, maybe it is like a picture I posted on facebook last evening, dark and fuzzy. I will go have another look tho, I was on my phone and did not have my glasses ata the time so... Ken
  16. I was hoping 130xe style. It is my favorite even tho I have loads of 600xl and 800xl. Ken
  17. hi, good point Alfred, I always wondered why no real version number. that really should be added in. Ken
  18. not the 80 column card for the 1090XL it is full 8 bits wide. 8 bits high too iirc. Ken
