  1. @Burdger, is there a plastic film still covering the metal of the system?

In the pictures it looks like there is a film on the trim still. You can see what looks like plastic lifting on the edges.

I don't think it does. IIRC the original protective film was a pinkesh color.

It would still clean up nicely as I don't see any deep scratches are scuffs on the metal. In any event a new metal face plate can be had for about $15 off ebay, which this one really doesn't appear to need.

No there is no plastic still covering the metal.

  2. I've got this 5200 that my parents bought years ago when they first came out. Right now I'm taking monetary offers and possible trade offers for NES items. I'm mainly looking for CIB's and the loose odds and ends on my want list on this site. Here are a few pictures. If you'd like anymore, please don't hesitate to ask. If for some reason I do not respond in a few days, please come find me on www.NintendoAGE.com. I'm always there (also as burdger). Thanks for looking.

Could you post a pic or two of the machine itself?

    Thanks,

    tjb

Here you go. I took three different pics, but if you want anything in particular, please ask.

  4. Really, now I'm torn as to whether or not I want to sell. The only reason I was going to get rid of it is because it just sits in a closet because all of my NES stuff takes up too much room in my tiny apartment. Hopefully we'll get a house soon though, and I'll have my own video game dedicated room.

  5. i can tell you that i would go pretty damn high for that. especially with the controllers. if i was in a bidding war over this? i could go as high as $300-400.

please post here again if you are going to auction on ebay, or take offers of any kind

I'm glad I checked here before I sold it. I'm an NES collector, and I have no idea how much this stuff is worth. I was about to sell it on an NES forum for $50! So it's the extra controllers that make it worth so much more?
