You guys have great machines in your collections!
I have been collecting since '89. One of my friends owned a route which some of my machines came from.
Here's a list of the top of my head:
Atari Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (my first machine and unofficial world record holder)
Atari 720
Atari Star Wars w/ Amp monitor
Cinematronics Star Castle
Bally Sente cabs X2
Namco Pac-Land
GDI Slither
Nintendo Super Punch Out
Atari APB w/ seat
That's the oddball companies I can think off the top off my head...
Now, Taito (my favorite manufacturer!)
Front Line
Tin Star
Alpine Ski
Crazy Climber
Jungle Hunts x2
Space Dungeon (project)
The Electric Yo Yo (need marquee)
Taito boardsets
all of the above (spares)
Wild Western
Sea Fighter Poseidon
Elevator Action
Multiple Qix boardsets
I have probably around 100 various boardsets from different companies.
Arcade vids that I want:
EDOT (have a line on one)
Crossbow
Taito Kram
Taito Wild Western
Williams' Star Rider (sitdown)
I've been more into pins as of late so here's the ones I own:
I should preface this by saying Gottlieb is my favorite pin company.
Data East Batman
Data East Phantom of the Opera
Bally Spectrum
Bally Elektra
Gottlieb TX-Sector
Gottlieb Genesis
Gottlieb Spirit (my baby)
Stern Indiana Jones
Gottlieb Buck Rogers
Stern Split Second
Gottlieb Bounty Hunter
Gottlieb El Dorado and the City of Gold
Atari Atarians x2
Atari Time 2000
Williams Comet
I *think * there is a couple more floating around there...
And yes I have a sickness!

Ok this has gotten ridiculous. I paid for my XM in 2010 and am still waiting patiently. I have also paid for and received the first run of SGM. You all have to remember that the homebrew community is done mostly as a hobby. Real life gets in the way sometimes. If its job, family, health or some other reason bashing the person is not helping in any way. My advice to people is if you have no patience then don't pay for a preorder.
Uhm, maybe you should read the other topics about this? It's ALL been discussed before...

Ok, Guys!
Enough is enough!
I hear your pain while I could understand why Eduardo is MIA ....
Here's what I can do to help you guys:
I've have Eduardo's personal home address, I'll send him a letter explaining people here are really worried about never receive their orders and tell him to just drop by and say: something
This's all I can do to help you guys
Is it a good idea? any suggestions/thoughs?
Thank you very much!!!!!!

Looping is one of those games that's an acquired taste.
I played one at our local arcade a ton! I'm pretty sure it was a turn off for a lot of players because of the control scheme - which is very unfortunate!
For those that don't know, there is a sequel for Looping in the arcades called Sky Bumper (very rare)!

All that thing are really true of course. But sorry, that is hardly understandable and excusable is the lack of communication. And , apparently, the fact he puts SGM on Ebay instead of sending them to whom already paid. Even the one with transparent case , i guess it would been easy to them in a black case and send to customer that waiting for their hardware.
At least he could put something on its website to explain the situation. I think most of SGM customers are ready to wait if they knew what is going on.
I guess Eduardo has financial problems , and it surely the reason he puts SGM on ebay. And we can all understand that. But he has internet access visibly , so no excuse to no communicate.
For the rest , i wish the best to Eduardo what ever problems he has , i hope they will be solved quickly.
Good points Youki!
Again, I have no problems w/ the delay! My issue arises when you have someone get an email correspondence about the current status of the *second run* units WHEN the current *first run* peeps are
still left in the dark!
Why oh why just not send out a mass email to EVERYBODY to explain the current situation...
I've been somewhat laid back in this situation. But the more and more I'm on this Opcode section of this forum, I feel my B.P. rising...

You'll get it and really,, is $95 is too much to risk. I got a parking ticket the other day for $60 and I have nothing to show for it.
Umm.. yeah, $95 is a good chunk of change and really don't get your parking ticket analogy but okay?

Ordered a first run SGM when it was first announced... to this day nothing has been received!

The truth is that Eduardo has been a technological leader in restoring life to the ColecoVision.
If you look through the threads here at AA Forums--even back to when the CV was included in "Classic Gaming General"--this is not the first time that Eduardo has taken a "sabbatical". I didn't even know until recently, that Luc was acting on behalf of Opcode Games for a while. At various times throughout the last 10 or so years, Eduardo has set lofty (and admirable) goals to enhance what the ColecoVision is cabaple of. We love the stuff he comes out with! But as it has been seen many times on these forums, a technological leader will leave the scene (hopefully just for a time), very probably due to being overwhelmed from the size of these projects. Or maybe it's just family matters, or life. We've seen many posts from AA members alluding to this in other sub-forums too.
All I can say is that I have hope that Eduardo will return as he always has in the past. I'm certain there is a good reason for what is (not) going on. Without meaning to gloat, I am very proud to say that I own almost all the products that Opcode Games has produced, and that I count these as true gems. They have restored beauty and luster to my experience in "the golden age of gaming", and I certainly would like to see more!
For you guys who feel gypped because you haven't seen what you paid for, I sympathize with you. It sucks. Hang in there, and maybe we'll give Eduardo a good reason to come back!
I'm definitely hanging in there....
It's just frustrating when he responds till certain individuals emails and not others. Even more frustrating is some of these are emails are relating to the *second* run while the first run is still in limbo.

I also waited a long time, but Eduardo emailed me at 14th januari this year, and told me that the second batch will be shipped in april
so glad that the SGM will come soon
Anybody else still waiting for their units receive this "email"?

Great. But if this is all true, really Eduardo has no excuse not to drop in and let us know he's still committed to the folks on AtariAge who have supported him. It's extremely inconsiderate.
I ordered from the first run as well. Initially, I opted to wait for the nameplate snafu he was encountering (don't know if that's still ongoing). When I first heard that people on here were getting their units; I emailed him and told him to bypass the nameplate issue and send me a unit - I received no reply. Again, I emailed him again, stating the latter, and nothing.
From this thread, I understand he's having life issues. I am and still continue to support the guy by purchasing his products. BUT, not to receive any emails from him about my current order and apparently other users onhere are... irritating none the less.
Eduardo, if you're reading this, please contact me via pm or email - I just wanna to able to play the damn thing.... :/

I'll also add Bally Sente, as well as the Exidy system to that list.

Wow, I haven't been active in a long time so I searched 'atari 2600' on ebay and was a little dissapointed. I guess it was bound to happen, though. I remember nearly spending a few hundred bucks for a Waterworld or a hundred and change for a Chase/Chuckwagon cart back in the mid/late 90's.
Waterworld was going for that much back then?
I thought it was *reasonably* priced till we got till the 2,000's; the prices started to escalate even more. I'm speaking for boxed copies...
I just looked on Ebay's completed listings, and they're still fetching a good penny.

Yes, sadly the much praised Revenge of Death Adder was never ported to console. Golden Axe II on the Genesis is a different game; not a bad one by any means, just not a real improvement either. It feels more like a pack of new levels for Golden Axe 1 to be honest. A bit uninspired and not comparable at all to the jump from Streets of Rage I to II, but it's still Golden Axe and still fun.
Ironically Golden Axe III, which really did change the formula and felt different is not well-loved by most; imo mostly due to the all new character cast and the dull graphics. But that one is an overhaul gameplaywise.
The "improvement" on Golden Axe II is the music. This has to be in my top 5 list of Genesis tunes!
I really, really, really tried to get into part 3; I just can't. I can't put a finger on one just thing, it just seems it's missing something from it's predecessors...

What's funny is how small of a selection of whatever toyline that was available.
I'll take Star Wars' toys for an example. The section was 2' x 3' (I might be generous on that). Most of the different toylines were like that as well. Now I know big box stores are like this (Wal-mart and Target), but a store that is just exclusively a toy store? What happened to once a mighty giant from my youth!
-
I worked at Toys R Us winter '83, and we had those boxes (one each) in the back room. They'd been sent to the store for the displays they used to have (empty boxes with a tag underneath them).
I knew they weren't going to produce the game (by then Return of the Jedi had been out awhile), so I stashed 'em away behind a shelf in the store room. But I got laid off (seasonal employee, don'tcha know) and never retrieved them. The store was remodeled and that area demolished years later. Wonder if anyone found them...
I have no clear recollection of the back of the boxes, but I thought there were screenshot mockups on them.
Great story - bad outcome:(
A few years back the box for Game II was on Ebay. I don't recall what platform it was though.
I know I did place a bid on it and for what I remember it wound up going over 1k.
I want to say, I vaguely recall the back of the box being blank...
-
The Toys R Us stores I used to got to (Chicagoland) had all the consoles in those big, clear display cases as well.
On a side note, I recently stopped in the Toys R Us store I used to go when I was little. It's been a while since I stepped foot in one of these stores. Now I know they changed the whole outside decor of the storefront. (I miss the rainbow colored siding pieces)! Anyway, I can't believe how much they changed on the inside. It seemed like everything was very compact and everything was laid out in small aisles.
This is the same store I got most of my Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi toys. I'll never forget they had these LONG aisles w/ racks of figures. I recall the Star Wars' stuff was half of an aisle, the other half was GI Joe. Across the the aisle were He-man and Transformers.
I also remember an aisle dedicated to Tyco train sets and Aurora slot cars.
Kinda of a sad state what this store has become - definitely a shell of it's former self. *sadface*

I got my Genesis the second week of launch. Tried on the first but all sold out!:/
I know I got Space Harrier II, Last Battle, and Thunder Force II. I *think* that following month I picked up Mystic Defender and Super Thunder Blade.
My two choices: Mystic Defender and Thunder Force II.
-
I feel like Phantasy Star II was pretty close to launch (I could be mistaken). I remember it costing something ridiculous like $60 - $80 dollars but it was mind blowing.
I believe it came out in the first quarter of the following year of the launch.
My buddy had it on preorder, it wound up being $90.00.
-
So I'm thinking up buying a modded out Genesis rather than touching my original one I picked up at launch.
Have a few question...What are the must have mods?
1)compnent audio and video jacks in the back.
2)overclocking 7 to 10mhz
3)language mod
Any others that you can think of? And is option #2 on my list a absolute must?
I was thinking about having this done on a (High Def Graphics) model 1 Genesis... (Sorry I don't know the model differences.)

Received my game today!
Very excited and it looks awesome!

I also recall seeing this title on sale at Kmart. Thought it was around $20 mark.
Isn't this the one title that's real flaky. Basically a crap-shoot whether it works or nor because of the rom?
-
I have one of these as well.
The one I have is green though with stickers of a male and female tennis players 70's style on the faceplate.
-
Pre-ordered a boxed copy.

I don't believe so....
Can't remember where I had seen this, but the gameplay was suppose to be centered around some clips from the movie ala Blue Thunder. I have to check the box and see if it says anything.
