Strange Phantasy Star SMS Sega of America Hint Sheets
schuwalker replied to Parrothead's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have the same hint sheet and more..... True story: In English class we had a assignment where we had to write a letter to our favorite company basically kissing their arse. My favorite was Sega at the time. This was probably in the first year or so of the Master System life cycle ( around '88). What I got back back was a surprise! I kid you not, I got a Sega folder loaded w/ tip sheets of almost every game at that time in their inventory. A pretty cool Sega poster and a typed letter from one of their PR staff thanking me for their support. Back to the tip sheets, that's how I found out by that *snail game*. I really need to find that folder again.... -
My favorite arcade vector: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9cwM0t9O50 Another cool prototype vector:

Anybody care to elaborate?

While I agree w/ you about the price... in all fairness (my opinion) it's the best Genesis shooter. I was lucky enough to buy one at Toys r Us when it was new. Speaking of outrageous prices. anybody check out the Mega Drive import scene? Mainly the shooter genre. Cripes! Someone mentioned Eliminate Down on here... wish I would've done more importing back then!

Thought I would bump this..... right now I want to concentrate on "I, Cyborg" and worry about the other titles later on. If you have I, Cyborg for sale - let me know.... Thanks!
-
I figured they would pop up there eventually... me want to play it now.
-
I'm looking for these following titles (all preferred boxed and manuals) I, Cyborg (really want)! Cube Quest Omega Race I know this is a longshot but doesn't hurt to try! Help make a new Vectrex owner a happy camper! Thanks....

Interesting to say it was vastly improved... something 'bout the controls and movement on the CV version that bothers me compared to the 2600 counterpart.
-
I concur w/ the majority on here 'bout the Activision ports. The first Activision title I bought was Keystone Kapers. I should preface this by saying "Kapers" is my favorite 2600 game to this day. When I got it home, I would say mildly disappointed would sum it up best. Not to say it was horrible, but to me when it comes on the Colecovision, I expect it to be *greatly* improved over the original..... I still prefer the 2600 version. My next game was River Raid. Now on this one I do prefer the CV port. I was a pretty good RR player; I love the added difficulty the CV version provides. Followed suit was Pitfall II. Well this was The Keystone Kapers to me. Nothing real of an worthwhile upgrade to me. Now, my neighbors had Decathlon for the CV. I would say this is the best port of Decathlon on any system - love that game!

Sorry for the late replay.... its the RB and LB buttons - notably the LB. It's not the first time I have encountered this issue. BTW: it's new

I recently picked up a 360 system. Been a long time coming! Question for you guys... I'm familiar w/ the system after playing my dad's on several occasions. Love the system BUT the controllers especially the shoulder buttons. One thing I find really annoying is the top buttons where there is hardly any clearance. Meaning, sometimes you have to press harder than normal to get the appropriate response. The last one my dad purchased was perfect! You actually had a little play on the top buttons and heard even a click! Well the controller I got w/ my system is one of the crappy models I described in the first sentence. Grrr..... Does anybody else have this issue? Are these controllers really that hit and miss? I like everything else about the controller - just not those damn shoulder buttons!

Is there a list our there of unreleased carts/tapes out there that was scrapped? Curious as to what was on the shelf before the chopping black. I mentioned on a thread earlier of a Lock n Chase that seemed to be in the pipeline.

Anybody else a 'Collector' of the TI-99 4/A?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Thanks Kasrul! This whole time I was thinking there was a label variation as well for Car Wars! Kinda weird it's just the 'normal' label!?! -
Anybody else a 'Collector' of the TI-99 4/A?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I had a feeling it was rare since I couldn't even find a loose cart. BTW, I found a version that wasn't the multi-language cart listed/shown in an Triton catalog so... there was an English version then? -
Anybody else a 'Collector' of the TI-99 4/A?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Thought I would update this w/ my recent acquisition. Finally managed to complete my boxed of officially released Atarisoft games! Believe it or not, I had a helluva a time finding a boxed Centipede. Don't know why, since the arcade was a popular at the time. Speaking of which, anybody think the Atarisoft games prod #'s are really low compared to other computer platforms? I would love to find actual #'s to back this up.... I'm going to concentrate on Funware (another company not easy to find boxed for) next and knock the occasional edutainment program I need along the way.... One other question... has anybody seen this artwork version of Car Wars before? https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1527&bih=850&q=ti+car+wars&oq=ti+car+wars&gs_l=img.3...1159.3296.0.3631.11.7.0.4.4.0.98.559.7.7.0...0.0...1ac.1.7.img.E_SU9xsy12E#imgrc=B2ebVTCQovMPUM%3A%3Bho6KRaYwZS7O1M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.videogamehouse.net%252FCarWarsManualNew.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.videogamehouse.net%252Fcarwars.html%3B816%3B1180 -
Pretty sweet collection #6! I was at my storage shed yesterday and managed to stumble across my *boxes* full of gaming mags. I was bored and decided to read some of them again. Those particular ones were from '89 - '90. I have to say that my favorite was Video Games and Computer Entertainment. I was a sad, sad panda when that periodical finally folded! It was the one magazine that wasn't really biased to one system. It covered all platforms including PC and into the Arcade. Reminds me, I need to pick up one issue for the completion... I believe it was the one w/ the U-Force on the cover and Tyson's Punchout on the demo screen. RIP VGCE

Looking for Aquarius Burgertime & Astrosmash
schuwalker replied to mojotv67's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
A lot of Aquarius memories for me was/is based of nostalgia for me. I really don't recall do any programming for it in fact. It's sole purpose was definitely and strictly a gaming console. I told my story before... we picked up ours at K & B Toys when they were blowing them out for cheap. We got the one w/ the Expander unit and 4 games (Tron, Utopia, Astrosmash Nightstalker). Later on we acquired D&D form another retail out also clearing their Aquarius stock. It might sound funny that I said a Aquarius as a gaming console, BUT as a kid... I played the hell out of the four titles I mentioned - not a fan of Utopia. As others mentioned Astrosmash is an easy title to acquire. BT is going to be up there price due to it's rarity. (I don't ever recall seeing a BT on the shelves bitd.) One of my absolute favorites is Melody Chase - love that game a VERY addicting!!!!!! Also mention a b***h to find!!!!! It is a pretty neat system to collect for. I mostly concentrate on the carts themselves instead of the tapes (been pondering that though :/) I have to admit.. I really don't play the system itself too much but it does make a nice decor in the gaming library. A cheap plug: if anybody has a Melody Chase or Chess boxed? wink wink! -
I'm in!!!!
-
When is the Sears' Math Gran Prix going to come up for sale?
-
Seems like a bad time to start collecting.....
schuwalker replied to Cobra Kai's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I acquired most of my collection BITD and in the mid to late '90s. I never got into collecting the SNES. I basically pursued the games I wanted to obtain when they were new. On the NES front, I wanted to collect all of the black box games at one time, Mind you... I have most of them. But ones like: Stack Up, DK Math, Clu Clu Land, Volleyball, et. al, I dragged my feet 'cuz they weren't really good. Fast forward to today, there is now way I'm paying some of those prices that these go for CIB. :/ Lately, I've been concentrating on my Genesis collection. I've been broadening my horizon and looking to get some of these Mega Drive schmups. Holy ****! Some of these prices these command! I had seen one on Ebay (believe it was Eliminate Down) go for over 5 bills! -
James, I *think* you were thinking of the one where it was the computer clone used on Wargames. And a late congrats to TI99userclub! I'm guilty of raising the price on that one a little bit but bowed out pretty early in the bidding.....
-
Probably my favorite game for the Colecovision next to 2010! I always preferred Frenzy over Berzerk in the arcades. Frenzy didn't really get the attention as Berzerk did, so it's somewhat rare. Thanks to Colecovision (and their prowess for bringing the rarer arcade games home), I get to play a wonderful rendition!

MAME...dang, sure would like to use it, but...
schuwalker replied to atarilovesyou's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Question for you guys.... I don't have an upright for Mame and strictly use my desktop for gaming, wondering what's my choices for spinner and trackball controls? Does/ is any of these peripherals have a USB plug-in. I'm not really looking for a big monstrosity type of a control panel since desk space is limited. -
That anime looks pretty cool... have to check that out! I honestly did not know Mystic Defender was a sequel to Spellcaster at that time. Don't think I even seen Spellcaster back then, and I had a Master System! :/ Does anybody know if there were plans to do a sequel to Mystic Defender?
