  1. Cool! I know Stephan, bought several arcade-related items from him that I needed.
  2. Sorry to hear that! Snacks ' n Jaxson is pretty rare in the Sente library. I'm also trying to collect most of those kits and down to the rare of rare (SNJ, Snake Pit, Chicken Shift) If you don't mind me asking, where did you get those two Taito games? Do you know where they current reside? Would love to pry that Kram away from him!
  3. I have a Yo Yo that was converted over. I'm trying to get a rough idea on many units there were of Kram and Yo Yo. I have a feeling neither of these titles did well on location and quickly became conversion fodder. My Space Dungeon suffered this fate.....
  4. I have your pages bookmarked! I noticed you had owned (past tense).... did you unload them? I found a Yo Yo cab. Need the bezel and pcb. And I know a guy whom has a Kram. (Of, course, he doesn't want to sell it.):/ Also, here is a link to Sente's Off the Wall. http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10623 .
  5. Do you guys have a favorite? Mine is hands down Taito! Especially the early '80s stuff.... I just like the uniqueness of the gameplay of some of these, in other words, they just weren't Pac-Man clones. I've been trying to roundup and collect all of the ones from the era I just mentioned. My list includes: Front Line Alpine Ski Crazy Climber Space Dungeon (needs a cab) Electric Yo Yo (needs a bezel and marquee) Jungle Hunt/King empty cabs (2 of them) I really want to get a Zookeeper still and convert one of my JK cabs to Kram. Still need a Wild Western of course. Something about the unique color scheme each one these games that I love! Here is a reference:
  6. I'm talking about in the actual arcade cabinets. I'm trying to confirm how rare these titles are or even some of them made it past the prototype stage. Taito Kram Water Ski Electric Yo Yo Bally/Midway/Sega Swat Bally Sente Chicken Shift Snake Pit Goalie Ghost Off the Wall Thanks.....
  7. I'll let you on a secret.... I despise Pac-Man even to this day. While I'll give it credit where it's due, I think some of the other games (Mouse Trap, Ladybug) improved on the idea. Those two games I mentioned, I played a TON of when the Pac's and Mrs. Pac's were being hogged. And I'm glad I did! Also, I prefer DKJR way more than DK....:/
  8. Very valid question about kits. At this time where kits were more prominent was the Jamma era. While not bad, it seems games started to focus on 'endings' more than the score. Now, your question is do I view kit games as art pieces. Mmmmm, I guess it really depends on 'how well' the kit was done by the arcade operator. BUT I always go back to how cool this game would've been in a dedicated form. Sega 16 games come to mind: Shinobi, Altered Beast Golden Axe. One of my friends is an arcade OP, I can tell you first hand on how many great classics were converted due to lack of making money. Hindsight is 20/20 though, so.... I was at my friend's place recently, and we were digging through some of his cabs. Started to unearth some of the paint on this certain cab. Voila, a Food Fight! As a previous user mentioned, Mr. Do was dedicated and kit form. BITD, I mostly encountered Mr. Do in that cool Universal cab w/ that psychedelic bezel. Speaking of great artwork - look up some of the Universal game cabs!
  9. These Centuri games have some of the coolest sideart! Love the sideart to Vanguard! Would LOVE to have a poster of it...
  10. Darius was one game I always wanted to see on location! I have the arcade flyer for this and being in awe of the whole 'three monitor" aspect. I did see this aspect later on when our Aladdin's Castle obtained a Ninja Warriors machine.
  11. I'll chime in on this since I lived in the era of arcade games at their zenith, owner of 'several' arcade games and a regular user of Mame. First off, my deepest apology if you think the 'arcade experience' is/was overrated for you. There was nothing like being one of *first* players to beat Dragon's Lair and have crowd around you - cheering you on. Getting a bunch of your buds w/ their BMX bikes going to the local arcade and play 4-player Gauntlet. Having fierce competition at a arcade you don't frequent too much that has a Atari 720 littered w/ someone else's high scores. Each of you trying to rip off different scoring strategies. Track & Field wars w/ different peeps.... Sorry so to say... Mame can't replicate these scenarios.... Mame also can't replicate some complex controls some of these units had. Atari's 720 is a great example. I also looks at some of these games works of art. Recently, I played a Red Baron at a friend's place. That cab is seriously a work of art! You miss that out on the eye candy on Mame. Now, I know it sounds like I'm bashing on Mame - not entirely true.... It has opened the door of many games I never played BITD. And I mean *many* - mostly from the '70s. One other thing, not sure if I misinterpreting your view on maintenance? But once you get these games working, they are pretty solid. Now I would be lying to say all of these games are problem free. Definitely holds true to some of the vector games..... I should preface this by saying I enjoy working on these as much as playing them.
  12. Well, thought I would throw a shameless plug for something that would be the zenith of any TI collectors! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 251217670308
  13. I still own the majority of my pc collection from the 286 days. Including most of the 'point & click' adventures from Lucasarts and war flight sims from Dynamix. I did pick up a boxed game I've been looking for a while: David Wolfe - loved that game bitd! Now, I'm into collecting some the C64 titles I used to love playing. These include some of the Synapse titles, Lucasarts Labyrinth, Epyx Impossible Mission and Muse's Castle Wolfenstein.
  14. Your panel is from a Nintendo 'Red Tent' machine.... Think of it as a cocktail table...
  15. Good call Greg! My local K-mart had the exact same model.
  16. Here's a little blurb about it in the 'trivia' section. As to what it says I don't know... http://www.videogamehouse.net/superdemon.html
  17. Geez... Tough crowd! No other Genesis owners thought it was halfway decent?
  18. After playing it on a emulator and watching several Youtube videos, I can confirm the cart version does *not* have speech. Strange, since the other Imagic games contain speech, and this one doesn't? Anybody have any insight? Memory constraints?
  19. I don't remember that - guess I'll have the hook the TI up again! Microsurgeon does have speech - that I do recall... I noticed one of the comments was from the author of this game -cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCALI3TdpjY
  20. Really doesn't seem this game gets (any) attention it deserves... I picked this up on a whim way back when when the Genesis had been out a month or so. Been dying to play a new title so I took a chance and glad I did! I should preface this by saying I had no idea this was a sequel to Spellcaster. A game I never owned on the Master System. How is this game btw? Back to topic... I just absolutely love this game! It's one of those game I play routinely on my Genesis when I'm killing time or bored. Did I mention the soundtrack for this game? Outstanding! Now, there is no third game of the series is there? Kinda fell off the Sega era by the time the Saturn had come out. If not, definitely a franchise worth revisiting! For your listening pleasure.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG62_R-JFPA&feature=relmfu
  21. Imagic was one of the first gaming catalogs I tried to complete first. I believe I have all of them except for one - have to look on my list. Super Demon Attack was definitely one of the gems I recall playing A LOT bitd. Well, this and Microsurgeon! My only fault on the game is I wish it incorporated some kind of speech! I forgot one other thing... Imagic isn't the only one guilty, but those *plastic* cases these came in are cheap! By FAR, the worst case for a cart!
  22. I was thinking about this week rummaging through my stuff. I was thinking my Ti 99 4 model, but I'm thinking I'm going w/ my family's original TI unit my dad purchased in '82. Sooooo many good memories tied w/ that specifc computer! I *think* I would replace this though if I had a TI-99 2 or 8! What's yours? Could be software, peripheral, a book? It would be too cool if anybody had in marketing items (displays, standees) stores had when TI was still relevant.
