  1. So I went through my inventory of games and items TI-related. Can't believe I'm up to 80 boxed TI games and application software items! (I noticed my stack was getting higher and higher!) Don't see many people on here boast about their collection - wanted to know if I just have the sickness!
  2. Thought I would revive this topic since I'm nearly finished my CIB Atarisoft collection. I'm now focusing on these four items in particular. Using Ebay and Craiglist as references - still nada, zilch! For Ebay, I did expand my search to include worldwide results. Not sure if these were just exclusive to the states.... It's pretty telling how uncommon these are since I can't even find ONE loose cart of any of them. I can only imagine how rare these are - especially the box!
  3. Driph hit the nail on the head. Dedicated versions are rare and a very low production run. Conversions kits (which is mostly I've seen), I don't want to say too uncommon but definitely not rare.
  4. I highly recommend Imagic's Microsurgeon! One of the best games in their catalog and very underrated!
  5. I forgot to mention, but were two people being facetious when they picked Super Pitfall as their choice?
  6. My vote goes to Pitfall II for the 2600. It still holds a spot in 'my top five' 2600 games. I remember seeing a teaser ad for P2 in a Electronic Fun magazine - was ecstatic! I also recall hounding my parents everytime we went shopping. Of course at that time, I don't think it was released yet. When I finally saw it at our local Camelot Music store, grabbed the parents and they bought it - I was spoiled! I must have played that thing all day and wee into the morning hours. Ahh the memories! I did manage to played Pitfall II at a 7-11 once. I manage to find a Pitfall II arcade kit, just need to find a cab for it. If you guys are looking for a challenge: this is it! This game being tough is understatement. While I do like the gameplay albeit the difficulty... wasn't a real fan of the Sega artwork/graphics that were used.
  7. My choices: Sit down Star Wars, Enviromental Discs of Tron, Exidy's Crossbow...
  8. You actually 'beat' these bitd? My hat's off to you....
  9. I remember my dad picking this up in one of our family shopping outings. I was huge into Indiana Jones at that time so when I saw the box - the description was right up my alley! I still recall not knowing what the hell is going on. In fact, I kept going into the rooms w/ the challenges cause for some reason that was fun to me.... After awhile of frustration it was relegated to the back of the stash of games. Fast forward to about '85, I was still playing the hell out of the Colecovision along with the 2600 adapter. Well this game irked me enough to give it a try and solve it. (I definitely remember the contest was long over.) I literally put item after item in a certain room and rise, repeat. I *believe* I found either 4 or 5 clues total by this method. I'm still amazed that people were able to find all the clues - if this was indeed done (?) I did manage to pick up Fireworld at Zayre on sale. Not knowing why even though I was duped by Earthword - I guess it was cheap! I did manage to see Waterworld at Kaybee when they were blowing out 2600's catalog on the cheap. Man, I wish I loaded up on W.W's! I did start playing this again cuz I WANT closure! What really befuddles me, I still can't figure out a correlation from Zodiac symbols to items. None! So, what it comes down to is a damn guessing game! Bah!!!! Here is a vid of a fellow that solved Earthworld... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=437mNddF5sI&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N79bM3EkR0s&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ETdPShzv0A&feature=relmfu
  10. After viewing this topic I have finally identified the 'John Doe' handheld I used to have. Seeing that Auto Race definitely tipped me off but something wasn't right. After checking that link provided, there is closure. I knew it was something like Auto Race but the theme wasn't right. Well after seeing a pic of that Ski Slalom - that's it! What's interesting I remember my folks picked this up at one of those county fairgrounds' flea markets in the mid '80s. According to that article, it wasn't released in the states or rare here? Nevertheless, I wound up getting it... Talk about loads of fun! I have to find me one again - preferably boxed.... To the handheld gurus - how rare is this thing?
  11. No its not. I cant comment about the NES stuff, but a CIB Cannon man is more than 56% rare. I have seen only 4 or 5 listed on Ebay in over 10 years!! I agree w/ Dino on this... I would put this up in 75-80% rarity. I did notice, dare I say, influx of CIB Cannon Mans recently. Meaning 3 in the last 3-4 years (MIne, Zwakery and this). Kinda bizarre twist, but now I've seen more Cannon Mans than Sears' Math Gran Prixs... ***plug for a WTB: CIB Sears' Math Gran Prix ***
  12. The forums I frequent don't have the stringent of a policy but it is frowned upon on. I'm in also in the 'anti' auction link unless they're posted on when the auction is 'over'. Why should I do all the legwork, the detective, all the mis-spellings on these auction sites (let's say Ebay), and just have someone on here they just happens to find it randomly (mind you, not interested in the item), then posts the link. Now I know some people on here have no problem shelling out some tall cash for an item. They're involved = you have no winning chance! Now if I see an item I'm not interested in, and I know a person that does... "PM" them! That's why I try to make it know in all forums on what items I'm seeking... (CIB Sears Math Gran Prix)! Here's an example who these auction links suck. I have a passion for collecting arcade games , as well as, pins. Anywho, There was a game that popped up on Ebay that I desperately wanted. I placed my bid I felt comfortable w/ and let the auction ride.(This auction was half-way over and had only a low number of views.) I'll preface this by saying this game is semi-rare but by no means worth a ton of $$$$. I'm a member of an arcade forum and was looking through the topics as usual. Guess what all of the sudden arrived on the auction listing topic? Yep! The game I'm interested in! What?!? Now, I don't mind competition BUT why oh why was this posted when the OP had NO interest in the game. As a result, the 'watchers' ballooned to over 40 and the # of bid escalated by different parties... Needless to say, I tried for the life of me to obtain this (was the second bidder) but lost. I was pi$$ed! I voiced my displeasure at the op and the topic. Come to find out a well-known retailer and flipper had seen this topic and partook in the auction - gah!!! So that's why I loath these topics. Like I said previously, if you want to help a local collector w/ a item you're not interested in - PM is your friend! You just don't know who is watching these auction listings.....
  13. Looking for one CIB... Thanks!
  14. I remember seeing a Up n Down and the Aladdin's Castle I used to frequent, but I never played it. I did play the other games in that series. Up n Down was part of the Bally 'six pack' series, meaning one cab - interchanging kits. Games included: Flicky (favorite of most people), SWAT (my favorite), Mr. Viking, Up n Down, Bull Fight and Water Match.
  15. Some ones that I found in my stash: Jewel/Osco, Dominicks, Montgomery Wards, Service Merchandise, Zayre, Toys By Rizzi (mall exclusive stores), Kmart, Camelot Music, Turn Style?, Mervyns, Child's World, Mcdade's, Perry Drugs and of course Sears... While Toys R Us had the long aisles of games... to this day, I still believe Sears had the best and the most memorable setup for the 2600 - I'll never forget it!
  16. What do you guys use for a pc flightstick? These would be used for pc games: Red Baron, Aces of the Pacific, Battlehawks, and Their Finest Hour. So I don't need all the accessories that the newer ones feature... My buddy's dad had an old flight joystick, I believe by CH, that we used when he first got his 386 computer - I really got use to that one but didn't see one for sale...
  17. Loved Arabian! Has some of the coolest sideart ever conceived! I first encountered one at Foxfield Theater (RIP) in '82 or '83 - can't remember. I used to love the intermissions w/ the page turning idea. I don't know which version I played bitd. I thought it was the Atari version? Anyways, the difficulty ramps up real quick the second go-around. That damn flying carpet level will be the death of me! Interesting factoid: Sun is AKA Sunsoft....
  18. I voted for Spacemaster X-7. Reminds me of a quasi - Star Castle: one of my favorite arcade games!
  19. I been out of the Colecovision loop. I saw this posted on Ebay recently, can someone fill me in on the details of it. I know w/ some Destructors seems like a love/hate relationship (more w/ the latter), but it was a big part of my childhood gaming and still enjoy it in my adult years....
