2 worthy video game podcasts
schuwalker replied to S1500's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
I just got done listening to that exact same episode. I can't comment on the Xevious bit. Overall, pretty good episode... my one complaint is how they glossed over the periodicals that came BEFORE Nintendo Power. (Why does everyone think the genesis of gaming started at the Nintendo era!:/) Those were some great magazines: Electronic Games, Video Games et. al.... -
I was a big fan of the original on the AES. In fact, it was my next game purchase after my all-time favorite - Magician Lord. It appears only as a Neo Geo cd exclusive which I didn't have.... My question... was this as good as the original or basically a facsimile of the first game? (Not that's a bad thing....)

Rare Superman Cart - Up For Private Sale
schuwalker replied to memugking's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
There was another one that came up in '07 or '08 (memory is a little fuzzy). I only knew because my Ebay search for 'Sears' and 'Superman' had alerted me via email. I never knew about it either and thought it was a bit strange that a Superman cart had multiple bids, and I *believe* was around $150. Needless to say, I passed because it was sans a box - ugh! I still wonder if it's more rare than a "boxed" Cannon Man? -

I'll take one! -
'Some" of these older black and white games are pretty mundane nowadays (gameplay-wise). I think it was the presentation factor that makes it cool as well. I played a Side Trak at the arcades. (And I do remember being tough as nails!) I guess there was a bell chime that periodically would ring. A real chime unit - how cool is that!

Absolutely! Side question.... does anybody ever recall seeing a Exidy Rip Cord at the arcades? I 'lived' in the arcades and never remember seeing one....

Burn Rubber & Side Trak PRE-ORDER!
schuwalker replied to retroillucid's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Think Bally Midway's Bump n Jump. http://www.arcade-mu...hp?game_id=7241 Burn Rubber is nothing like Bump'n Jump. My misunderstanding... I noticed the Burn Rubber instead of the Burnin' Rubber.. -

TI Milton Bradley Gamevision tiltles....
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
I thought their were 6, no? I only believe I saw a Zero Zap (loose) on Ebay some years back. -
Does anybody own of these titles? From my research... they were the initial launch releases in '79. Ever since my TI collecting days I have NEVER come across any of these in their box. Now, I know some of these are rare according to the rarity guide, but I see some titles are only a R5? Would definitely love to get some of these in my collection now that I'm nearing the end of the Atarisoft catalog.

Centipede Moon Patrol Mrs. Pacman Dig Dug Let me know what you got... Thanks!

Awesome game! Never played the cockpit (which looks the style of a Pole Position), but did play a upright quite a bit bitd... Congrats on the score!

Lock 'n' Chase for the Aquarius?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I knew they'd eventually go outside my price range as well; I was really just watching for curiosity. Melody Chase ended at ~$266 USD and Space Speller at ~$337 USD. On the other hand, somebody got a pretty good deal on BurgerTime: only $22.60 USD (plus shipping from Australia). They were distributed via mail-order by a number of companies (Bentley Industries, Crimac Inc., etc), so I'm sure that a very small quantity of them were sold in North America, but there definitely seem to have been more sold elsewhere. There have been one or two Chess cartridges on eBay, but I don't think I've ever seen Zero In offered for sale anywhere. I know I'm biased, but to me, it demonstrates how much of a value the Aquaricart is for those who want to see these games on their Aquarius systems but who don't want to pay the high prices of the originals. Speaking of which, if I can put in a plug ... for a limited time, I'm offering my last two Aquaricart cartridges at a discount, and I have a few remaining upgrade kits for sale here: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120937161996 Jay, I know this may sound bizarre... but it just something about the Aquarius game's boxes that I love! When I had my first Aquarius, I had all my boxed games nicely display on my shelf. Still have the system/games - not sure what happen to the boxes! I didn't even realize that these were private auctions. I think I also prefer open auctions, for the same reasons. Congrats Cmart on the Melody Chase! That's the second one I've seen on Ebay through my Aquarius collecting years. I plead guilty for paying what you did on Melody Chase as I partook(?) in that auction. Actually, I did place bids on both of those games, except the one for Space Speller was meager compared to the Melody Chase.... I was going to ask you if you had a *wow* moment when you saw the final ending price but looks like you did! Here's hoping I find another boxed Melody Chase eventually! -
Lock 'n' Chase for the Aquarius?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Yep..... wayyyyyy out of my budget! I had hopes of snagging that Melody Chase for a *reasonable* price - nope! (My price was a little north of a c-note.) What really sucks... correct me if I'm wrong, but both of these titles were never released in North America? I know (from my other hobby) that dealing w/ Ebay auctions that are worldwide, that some crazy money gets tossed around! So, chances of scoring one of these, Zero-In and Chess w/out breaking your bank, is slim to none, unless one slips through the cracks on Ebay U.S. or their other foreign sites. I'n no expert on Ebay and all, but I never figured out why sellers sometimes have private bidder auctions. Since they changed your moniker to be anonymous some years back- how the hell do I know user O***O is going to be? I've seen this done other times as well on some international auctions. Never figured out that enigma.... -
Lock 'n' Chase for the Aquarius?
schuwalker replied to schuwalker's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I'm glad you got to see the ad finally! I was working on it getting it scanned from a friend but looks I don't have too now! I did a double take at first when I saw the ad. It's like "whoa" there was a Lock n Chase for the Aquarius! I'm also partaking in that Aquarius auction... Melody Chase I'm eyeballing you! Now only if he had a Zero In or Chess.... -
I don't ever recall the video stores my parents ever visited that rented games pre-NES. The first one I recall I rented was Wizards and Warriors at Randall Video (defunct) in St. Charles Il. I was really bummed because I really wanted Contra (rented out at the time). I was a big fan of the arcade game. The damn game was always rented out! But, WW was in it's own merit still a fun game...

I concur...

I was thumbing through an issue of Electronic Fun (July 1983) issue. Anyways, I got to an article titled "The Age of Aquarius" - pretty good read. On one of the pages it shows the Aquarius w/ the add-ons as well as software. One thing caught my eye - a boxed Lock 'n' Chase. Hmmmm... don't recall that one! Anybody else know about this one? Is there a proto floating around of this? Sorry, I don't have a scanner to scan the picture but the box does look cool!
-
Very nice! I remember Quick Step was the last one I need to complete my Imagic collection. For some reason, this title was tough as nail to find in the mid 2000's.....
-
Yep... Collect all the dots and the further the dots are - more the points... It looks like the 2600 version is lacking the snake which is a pain in the a$$ in the arcade.

Drool.... Double drool.....

I know I'm late to the party on this one.... but I never knew there was a Electric Yo Yo port! Another shocker was this game was super rare in the arcades. The timing is perfect since I'm currently trying to restore a EYY arcade game I received months back... Can anybody enlighten if the made it to cart form? If so, was it called Elk Attack or EYY? Also, if they were available, know where I can purchase? Thanks, EYY fan......
