Scans of Unreleased Coleco Titles for Colecovision
schuwalker replied to boxpressed's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I wonder what the control scheme would have been like? The arcade game uses a spinner for a controller...... -
Taito games FTW! This, Frontline and Tin Star were some of my favorite arcade games bitd. Frontline was one of my favorite arcade ports on the 2600. It sucks this never materialized....
-
Need the following *boxed* games: Donkey Kong Mrs. Pacman Shamus Moon Patrol Centipede Can anybody confirm if Joust exists? Thanks!

Those damn TI snobs....

The two A.C. chains I rememeber the most both were in malls... 1)Spring Hill Mall (Dundee,Il.)- I would say this had to be around '82ish or so when I first encountered a Taito Front Line and Zookeeper - both I remember brand new. I also recall seeing a Paperboy, I-Robot, ROTJ, EDOT, Journey, Two Tigers, Dragon's Lair, Marble Madness, 720, Gauntlet , Three Stooges to name a few... I also recall seeing The *Bally* logo in the chain name in this particular arcade... RIP '98 or '99 2)St. Charles Mall (St.Charles). This was in the jamma time frame - mostly the late '80s. This is the one I first encountered Double Dragon - Wow... the lines of people waiting in line for this! Also recall playing APB, 720, Gladiator, Cadash, Ghouls n Ghosts, Strider, Karnov, Alien Syndrome, Operation Wolf to name a few.. RIP '91 or '92

I keep forgetting you were a denizen of Northern Il. I moved to the northern burbs (Arlington Heights) in the early 2,000's. I do remember an arcade in Randhurst Mall - it was in decline by the time I got there. But, did Woodfield Mall ever have an arcade???

Any neck glow?

Any suggestions or recommendation of good Ti -based websites... Looking for ones w/ a forum or a buying and selling section....

Believe it or not.... the first time I encountered one of these was at a Dominicks Gorcery Store - yeahhhhhh.... -
Thanks Tempest - one to cross of the list! The *boxed* part I was referring to was one of the generic plastic cases w/ the lables on the side.... I have to try to find that pic now!!!
-
Interesting.... I swear I saw a pic of Lasso (boxed) in one of those yearly Ti 99 trader magazines.... I love how th TI took the Colecovision approach and ported some of the rarer arcade games - Centuri's Munch Moblie and Snk's Lasso (if it were found).

Tron-what was your first reaction?

I remember seeing it at some dive arcade bitd. I seem to recall a *bunch* of people huddled around this particular cab. At one point I managed to get close enough to see the cab. WHOA!!!! I was awe-struck! This is one cab I still need in my vid collection. Come across a couple of projects - just holding out for a nice one! I have to admit this is one *classic* I still suck at today..... I really never tried to better myself at it either. The gameplay isn't bad, but I don't think it's great. It wasn't till i saw a EDOT that I really fell in love w/ a cab! Still one of the best (if not the best) cab evar! Whil the upright is good standalone unit.. it doesn't do the game justice unless you experienced playing this in a enviromental unit.... -

First and foremost... I love the movie TOD. It's right behind Raiders form but ahead of Crusade. I saw it opening day and about a dozen viewings at the theater.... If there is anything you want to know about this game.. let me know! This was my first arcade game purchased in 1990. Unofficially, I have the beaten all the world records on TG settings on ALL the difficulty levels... I need to get off my lazy butt and submit a tape! This is definitely up there for my favorite arcade games ever..... Edit: Here is a thread where I mention my high score.... http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=140433&highlight=temple+doom -

I played the hell out of this @ Aladdin's Castle in Spring Hill Mall, Il. I'm probably one of the few that like this game. Does it have it's flaws? Sure.... I know for me personally, the isometric view took awhile to get used to. I do wish there was some different levels or some more variety. The Scout Walker one is alright, but the level doesn't change much in higher progress. I do think the Star Destroyer one is lame - you really don't do anything here! My favorite, by far, is the Speeder Bike chase... followed closely by the Death Star. Ironically, it's the two I have most trouble w/ at higher difficulty - damn Ewok Gliders! I actually like the sounds and voices in the game - it's very Atari-esque for the time... There was a thread on Klov awhile back on why ROTJ was raster instead of vector. My thoughts, players were getting burned out on vector and wanting the *higher* graphic quality. Well, that backfired since they went back to vector on ESB... remember the order they were released - Star Wars, ROTJ then ESB... There is some good Youtube vids out there of a guy whom is a pro at this game... -
Good time for an update! Since Taito is my favorite arcade manufacturer; I'll mention these titles... Qix Zookeeper Space Dungeon or Williams's Robotron would suffice.. Elevator Action Alpine Ski Never figured why Taito really got any Colecovision love? Some other obscure titles.. Atari Arabian - love that game! Sega/Gremlin Pulsar Gottlieb Mad Planets Atari Cloak and Dagger/Agent X Centuri Pleiades Midway Bosconian

Monte Carlo was and still is one of my favorite retro drivers. My buddy owns the arcade version. Definitely love the artwork and decor on the cab - trademark of Atari cabs.... -
Nice to see a Camelot Music Store price sticker!

This is why the colecovision! Another rare game (Side Trak) ported over to the coleco.... I actually played a Side Trak before in the arcade before. It was a very cool game albeit a very tough one from what I remember. The thing I didn't know about Side Trak that there was a bell mechanism that would chime periodically. The one I played this must have been missing or on the fritz - I didn't remember hearing it.... Out of all my arcade days, this is the only Side Trak I have ever seen! Someone mentioned Ripcord on here - that was one game I never did see Bitd. I think my choices for the *weren't* category would've have been Dracula and Swords & Serpents? The later, had a pic in a Electronic Games magazine w/ a screenshot of a giant looking Cobra.
-
Atariman, do you have a Time 2000? That seems like the really rare one, as far as, Atari production pins go....
-
Congrats to you, sir! Now let me know when you want to sell the Space Speller!
-
Systems where I find that are more predominate in other countries, I always use the Ebay *worldwide* listings.... Rare Aquarius games > a night's drinking and oversleeping!
-
Did someone see that Aquarius stuff on ebay recently from Australia? It *looked* pretty normal till you scrolled down and saw a.................. boxed Space Speller! Forgot all about till this morning.... and you know the result from my topic post!
