Was Coleco really that much smaller than Mattel? Not being a smartass just curious....

One of my spare CIB Burgertime carts is up for grabs if anyone wants it. $65+shipping and it is yours.
Must resist!!!! Holding out for priority #1, Melody Chase....:0

I remember the first time seeing it at a Kmart kiosk back then. Never got really into it, not saying it's a bad game, but I played other games instead....
-
I'm really and I mean really trying to get into "Final Score" but it comes down to another *modern day* videogaming podcast. Too bad, they came out of the starting blocks good.....
-
I always thought this is kinda puzzling... Anybody have any insight or theories?

hey topdog, i will trade you some stuff for it. what else are you interested in?
Trade talks in progress with Rev... but on a side note this (not mine) eBay Auction -- Item Number: 120647507986
will probably go for around $150-ish... too bad the box has flaps torn off on the Burgertime.
T.D. I saw that one too.... Why is it that it seems Burgertime boxes take the brunt of the damage as compared to other games? Oh well, I'll wait till another one pops up----in a year!

I did contact the seller about this auction and specifically about Burgertime. I was hoping that the box flap was instead smashed in the box but alas; he said it was torn off. He did say the smaller ones are present though...

Alright this is getting on my nerves D:
All the SwordQuest and Raiders of the lost ark reviews I find
Are just people bashing on the game because they don't know what to do
They never bother reading the manual or looking it up online :C! Making the games look worse and worse while trying to be funny.
Now can someone link me to a review where the reviewer knows what he/she is doing >_>???
:l
Anyone who wasn't "there" is writing these reviews in the light of more recent game systems with better graphics and higher capacity storage media. It's impossible to appreciate the magic that the early game programmers squeezed into a 4k cartridge when the oldest games you know are XBOX or PS2. It's like the scene from Back To The Future where Marty shows the kids of the future how to play Wild Gunman and they say it's like a baby toy.
Well said! And I couldn't agree more. Not taking anything away from the younger audience here but when I see someone in their late teens to mid twenties review Atari and Colecovision items; I take it with a grain of salt! I have a feeling alot of these people are basing their opinion of the newer generation of consoles compared to the games themselves bitd.
ET is another example.. I swear it got to the point that some of these kids pop in the gam for 5 minutes and come to their opinion the game sucks! I also point out that it was *vogue* thing to do bashing on these games....

Waterworld I also remember seeing at a K&B being blown out for a couple bucks during their firesale!
Wow, really?! I bet people would've been trampling over each other to pick those suckers up if they had a crystal ball.
I just kick myself for not getting a copy!

-
Yes... there were sold afterwards. I bought both Fireworld and Earthworld, pre and post crash. Picked the *post* crash games again cause the comics got tossed when I bought the *pre* crash ones. Got them at Zayre for a couple bucks... Waterworld I also remember seeing at a K&B being blown out for a couple bucks during their firesale!

Sega come on! You must be kidding. Just about everything Sega was a flop. Master System, Dreamcast, and really I don't even care for Genesis. The only thing they had going was sports games. Booooooooooring.
Sorry dude.. but I think you're on an island all by yourself if you think that's true....

Add me to the list!!
Still need boxed Chess, Melody Chase and BT to complete the U.S. collection don't think I'll go the tape game route.....

Frankenstein is highly underrated. It's an excellent game with awesome mood and is mega challenging. Good nab.
Do you think it's underrated? I know alot of people that thought this was a awesome game even back then. I remember picking this up at the *crash blowout* sale back then for $4! May days and hours invested in this gem. Definitely the best DA game-I know this is not saying much....
-
Yeah I know this system kind of sucks BUT I have some good memories of getting this in 87. Not too bad for a "tape" based game. Are there any other knowledgable people that have/had this system. The reason I ask was because in the late 90's I was on a quest to get all the tapes for the system. I had Sonic Fury, Pops Ghostly, Ambush Alley and Hydrosub but what's this Blue Thunder? How did I miss this one? Appears it was on the later life span of the Action Max's lifespan hence it's rarity. So found two copies of that back then on ebay back then but what's this again, Fright Night? So tried to find info about this from usenets on this particular game. So posted a topic on this and two fellas chime in saying that they had this. Anyway..... Does anybody know that there was a official release for Fright Night? Maybe there was some proto tapes out there for this??? I need closure!!!!

Seriously, there is always 3 to 4 night stalkers on ebay and the last time a burgertime ame up it sold for over 100.how an a game so plentiful on intv be so rare on aquarius!!!!
p.s. anyone have a spare?

Ummm...maybe it's because only like 6 people bothered to buy an Aquarius?
I'll make stupid ass comments and don't know what I'm talking about! You know why? So I can keep my post count up!
Dude....Go away!

Well I listened to Retronaut's swansong today and whata disappointing episode! There was really no organziation at all. It seem to me it was a cacaphony of different topics all meshed together! From the last couple of episodes it seems this Jeremy fella really doesn't care anymore and wants it to end asap! I really thing Chris and Frank really can stray off on their own and do start a new podcast. It's sad when you see the *rise and fall* of certain podcast you used to enjoy from the beginning.....

Holy S**t!!!! Do you live in a warehouse? I have 7 games and 5 pins and I feel cramped....BTW. You have 2 of my grails... An EDOT and that Sit-down Star Rider!
Actually what you are looking at is my warehouse/office, as you can see 5 rooms are already taken up along with parts of the hallway, and im running out of existing space REALLY FAST, Also I have 2 full sitdown cabs of star rider, they are so rare, when i came across the 2nd one, i immediately bought it, along with 5 spare board sets. You cannot see the 2nd starrider becuase it is in the garage area along with 4 other cabs, and a ton of computer parts/crap.
Rick
You Star Rider whorder!!!!
I got a guy that can get me one is just not priority one right now.... Two questions where do you live and are you hiring?

Love hearing stories like that! I remember we got our Aquarius at a blowout sale at KB toy store. I can't recall the exact amount but I don't think it was over $50. I belive we also got some games: Astrosmash, Snafu, Tron and Nightstalker....
-
Man I've been playing a ton of this game lately. Probably in my top 5 of the best cv games! Last night, I was able to get to stage 34 which is all time high for me!
Any others fans of this game out there and how far can you get?
-
Are any of those tape games for the Aquarius any good? I was just used to playing the carts.... Also were these released in the states here? Don't ever recall seeing them for sale in any publications or anything.....
Some of the tapes are great, some, not so great. The tapes had extremely low exposure in the States since the 3rd party market hit after Radofin procured the system from Mattel after only 4 months on the market. So, though there were a few released here, the preponderance of the tape games were released overseas.
TD, what's the best tape game for the Aquarius?

Thanks fellas...... albeit I don't think implementing a score is going to help this gem.....

Why no 'Sears version' of Centipede?
in Atari 2600
Posted
Thanks for closure guys.... I was just wondering since arcade hits like Defender, Berzerk and Asteriods had Sears counterparts and Centipede didn't.
